I added about 200 grams of weight to the back of my deluxe audio headstrap to reduce pressure on the front of my face and it actually helps with comfort a lot. This strap does this out of the box. That extra weight is not a negative imo, especially with the cooling fan.

Yeah that might be the case. The Kevlar helmets in the army weighed a few pounds and even better when you attach a pair of nods to the front so maybe i am used to it. Plus we were in them for 12+ hours during deployment.

I just got mine in. It's got some shortcomings like exposed wiring on the display side. But overall it seems nice. As far as the weight is concerning, its balance and distribution that matters. I used to sell lawn and garden equipment. In many cases a small gas powered line trimmer would be much heavier than a plug in electric or battery powered unit. But it having better balance made it easier to carry for longer periods. Newer battery powered line trimmers have digured that out and push for balance. You can hide a lot of weight that way.

The weight I don’t seem to notice at all but if you’ve been using vr headsets for a couple of years I guess you’re going to get used to it, but the comfort and fan plus that awesome battery make the s3 well worth it in my opinion!

the weight is 240gram, so with the quest3 and the battery pack it came with , total it weights about 1KG. good luck to your neck. is it bad? well, it is THE best headstrap we have at the moment, sleeping with it is actually a bit more comfortable, but still the same problem, bulky back side even tho they said they haveimproved it. the fan has to be used with the battery, there is no additional input port, say for some user they run tethered 24/7, would be nice to plug into that port and use the cable it came with the strap to power the whole thing, but you cant. fan noise really depends on what you doing, ofc if you playing heavy game/work out, you are not gonna hear it as much, but even then, after like 70%, it is very audible. if you watching moive play social game, keep it under 40% or even 20% so it is actually not audible (tbh even the lowest setting you can still tell there is something on your head making noise, all this because the quest3 itself is very quiet). another thing, it doesnt play nice with AMVR face cover, it will work, but they hit each other resulting limited range of movemnt.

Some people find it more immersive as you’re seeing your outside world through the headset anyway so it reduces that letterbox viewing feeling. You’ll also stay cooler as you have far better airflow round the headset as it’s open. Just try it with and without the facial interface and pick whichever setup you prefer.

The only issue with the Oblik, there is no ventilation so fogging can be an issue and the BoBo headstrap you just reviewed... the fan won't work properly because the oblik will prevent the air from the fan to enter the lenses. As evidenced by comments, it's natural to make excuses for new exciting products because we want to believe we're getting "the best" thing. Even people who don't have an S3 Pro are making excuses for its weight. Part of the appeal of a well-fitted halo strap is that it uses the geometry of the strap to counter the weight of the headset, so you can have a lightweight strap while fully supporting the headset. Adding weight to this configuration does not improve comfort. It just makes it clunkier and more noticeable on your head. It's just a matter of tradeoffs.

big brain idea here, cable matters sell an active usb link cable that allows you to charge the headset with the power from your wall plug rather than the power coming straight from your computer since the cable is usb c to c, you could in theory have it going the other way round, plugging the bobovr battery into the cable's active box, and then going straight to your pc [for data] the only thing to consider here is that the cable might not be reversable, so you'll have to test it (but i dont see why it wouldnt just work🤔

PU leather, or polyurethane leather, is a synthetic material designed to mimic the look and feel of genuine leather. The term "PU leather" emphasizes the fact that the product is a leather substitute made using polyurethane.
