I wish clotheslines were more common in the US. They are actually banned in many areas because they're considered trashy (which is ridiculous). It makes me mad having to use a hot dryer on a bright and sunny day. It's a complete waste of money and energy.

We can still use drying racks! I have one at home and use it occasionally. It doesn’t get rid of lint, hard textures or wrinkles from clothes like dryer, but if have some delicate clothing that can’t be tumble dried then it’s a must :)

@@JuliaCaban ok but I live in humid Houston. For most of the year my shower towels never completely dry, even after 24 hours. Drying indoors is impractical, even with air conditioning. It's just too humid. The clothes get musty long before they dry.

For your new dryer, consider using "Total Vision Wool Dryer Balls" you put three in a dryer load. Not only do they soften your clothes but they also eliminate wrinkles. Under $10.00 for a box of six. These have no scent, if you're allergic to the perfumes they put in dryer sheets. Each ball is good for 1000 loads.

Yes, woolen dryer balls have changed my drying game! I live in Nelson, the sunniest city of New Zealand, but I have chronic fatigue syndrome, so my dryer is a lifeline! There are definitely items I still hang outside, but for keeping up with kids clothes, towels and linens in general, it has been a godsend.

An important reason for the success of your washer and dryer is the fact that you DON'T overload. Even the biggest washers and dryers can't function at their best when too many things are stuffed in. The washers can't rotate efficiently and the internal belts get unbalanced. And if a dryer is too full, the clothing can't tumble properly, the air can't circulate. There are hard plastic anti static balls with surface nubs that you can put in the dryer, putting them in between the layers of fabric. They help make spaces inside the layers to help the warm air circulate.

Sheets roll up all the time no matter the size of dryer you use! I wish there was a simpler way to dry sheets without rolling up!! LOL! Just some advise: wash sweaters with like fabrics; you will get lint from towels and do not dry sweaters or towels with jeans, too! Shake your clothing before you put them into the dryer, they will not wrinkle as much and they will dry faster!! Really like your vids on the washing machine & dryer!!
