not sure if you know but you can rinse your clothes in the spin section. Spin the clothes to get the soap out, then add water to the spinner for a minute or two (it will drain as you add the water in) then spin one more time. saves on water and time as you can wash and rinse/spin at the same time, so 2 loads at once :) You can do 3 loads in under 30 min ;)

I just wanted to drop this little helpful hint for you Jenny, you can use a standard three outlet extension cord to plug the washer in to if you can't reach the outlet in your bathroom just be sure to hang it up away from your water as it drains or as you fill it up so you don't have any sparking accidents and also to make your washing more accessible and not have to mount it on the toilet since it is a gravity style non pump washer like my own you can place the entire thing in your bathtub for it to drain and then just clean afterwards once you're done washing. One more tip since you're draining in your tub tie a piece of stocking at the end of the drain hose to catch any lint so that doesn't build up and your tub piping.

The laundromats I went to were cleaned regularly, but the screaming kids and the possibility of catching COVID made me fork over the $119 om Amazon. I have been using a portable washer myself since last April. Under my seniors apartment rules, we're not allowed to hookup a washing machine. Since I have severe eczema I ignore the rules. I can get away with this because my machine DOES look like a toy! That's what I tell folks if and when they ask: "it's a toy. " - "So, what does it do?" - "Washes my undies and t-shirts and flour-sack towels." - "What about jeans?" - "Uhmmmmm...no. (I lied). - "What about sheets and stuff?" - "A load like that? Are you joking? It's just a bloody toy!?" (Yes, it can, but I won't tell THEM that") - "Well, why did you buy it when you have a REAL machine downstairs?" - "It was cute." (I don't tell them that my little plastic "toy" gets my clothes cleaner than the monster machine downstairs that takes my money and gives my nothing in return!) My "toy" is similar to yours. If I had to evacuate because of some natural disaster, it would be the FIRST thing I'd grab. It was such a drag having to wait until payday to do laundry for lack of coins (and NOW there's a coin shortage!😡). Also tired of earlier tenants's residual detergents, bleach, and harsh additives all lingering in the community machines and making my eczema worse. So I bought this little powerhouse "toy," based on your review and similar reviews. Best purchase I've made in a LONG, LONG time. Sure beats a washboard 🤗😁 (Just kidding 😺).

Haha!!! My landlord doesn’t allow washing machines either! I plan to hide it under a blanket and move it to the bedroom if he or the super needs to come in for any reason. If I can’t hide it fast enough, I’m totally going to say, “Oh....it’s just a TOY!!!” Or like, “Oh....it’s for an art project.” I love your excuses haha. 🤣🤣 Glad the machine is serving you well!! I just went to a “real” laundromat for the first time in forever to wash my winter jackets, but sure beats going once a week or something crazy like that!

this reminds me of the old Hoover washing machine my parents had in the 70's. You can poor water in the spinner and use it to rinse while the other tub is agitating, also you can use the little plastic thing in the spinner to push down on the clothes and force water out before running the spinner to save more time.

  • @PinchAPennyWithJenny

Oh that's awesome!! Yes, you can rinse in the spinner while the other one washes as well!! I do that sometimes as a shortcut. Never thought to push down on the plastic thing to squeeze some water out beforehand though - genius! Though I'm afraid it might break from the pressure since it's not really meant to take pressure like that from above? I don't know haha. Good idea though!

I live in Brooklyn and I have the same setup. I have my machine against the sink instead so I’m in front of it. My wash routine is wash/spin/rinse/spin, I notice doing it this way reduces the amount of lint and soap on the clothes. I also drain the water AFTER I transfer the clothes into the spinner so lint doesn’t settle onto the clothes. Oh and like another commenter says, use a pantyhose sock at the end of the drain hose to prevent lint clogged pipes.

I paid £70 recently for the version without the separate spinner as I already own an excellent Thomas centrifugal spinner- seemed silly to buy the bigger unit and I also have little space. How are you getting on with it? I do have a full size washer but I’m using this in an effort to save on electric-so instead of using the quick programme on my large washer I’m using the mini washer. I noticed on my large washer that it only washed for 3 mins of a 15 minute cycle and I wasn’t convinced things were clean, but they are very clean from the mini washer after a 6 minute wash and the power reader I used barely moved whilst the mini washer was on. The cost appears to be a fraction of using my full size washer.Fingers crossed 🤞it will help with the current crazy power price hikes! I had to use a launderette last year when a flood wiped out the electricity in my kitchen. It was horribly expensive and long winded . Waiting for the one larger washer I preferred was a pain and it was taking hrs out of my day as a career. I went in there last week to wash some heavy items and was shocked to see the machine I use has become £10 a load and the driers- you only get half the time you used to for a pound, so drying cost is now about £6 ( instead I dragged the stuff h8me and dried it in the garden in the hot weather- can’t do that in winter though!) Being bake to use this at home whenever you want and being able to do other things during the process is great!

I used to go to a laundromat to wash my clothes but not too long ago I bought one of those twin tub washers. The one I have can take about 22lbs of dry laundry so it is a big machine. The reason I bought it is because I was my comforter every 3 weeks haha. But so far it's a great machine. I believe I paid around 300$ for it. And it cleans my clothes really well.

I save the water from my regular washing machine (1 wash, 2 rinses) to water my vegetables in the garden, have the pump nose running out my window and down into a water barrel. I also use the water that drips from my AC, will fill a 40 gallon cat litter bucket a day in Summer for the garden. I have run a tube from my tub out the window to a rain barrel and save that water, think siphoning gas from a car. Once the water starts flowing, I put the tube in the rain barrel and save that water. In Southern CA, it is too hot and too much water wasted going down the drain that can be used for other things.

Love your channel. I have a mini washer too. Something to know tho, put a knee high pantyhose over the drain hose and secure with rubber band to catch lint or you will clog your pipes. The lint catcher in the machine doesnt catch everything.

I live in a van, thereby space and water are limited. I use a. Salad spinner modified with a drain hose for laundry. I start by separating whites, colored, and darks, starting with the whites, add water and cleaning products, adjitate a bit, let soak, then look for spots, clean any stubborn spots with a bar of soap, then agitate again, then I have two buckets, I drain the soapy water into one bucket (5 gallon from Lowe's or Home Depot), then spin as much soapy water out as I can. Next I add a cap full of vinegar to the rinse water, agitate, drain and spin the rinse water into the second bucket. Remove the whites, but before you hang them up to dry, put, the second load in the spinner, add the saved soapy water and start them soaking while you hang the previous batch to dry, agitate the next batch, drain, rinse, you should see how this goes by now. It saves time, money, & water, see, grandparents wasn't that dumb, after all.

I actually have one; was the only one with one in the building. The problem is my neighbors. They're thinking that we're wasting water and was given an ultimatum that if we used it, we'd be evicted. Their machine costed $7.50~$8.50 per wash and it barely cleaned anything 😥. My machine is in the box itself as I speak; hasn't been touched since 4 years ago. Seriously can't wait to move out..

I would wash the clothes in soap water, then directly to the spinner to spin most of the soap-water out(you missed out this part), then back in the washer-section...THEN add clean water to rinse, then back to the spinner. Then hang.
