This was an amazing tournament!!! His mental maturity is something to aspire & admire!!! Congratulations to Carlos & his team & family
Carlos is a perfect player ☺️,l like him . I wish for him healthy life and be lucky !
Carlos is such an exciting player to watch. May he have a long & legendary tennis career!
Alcaraz being described by his fellow players as ''the best'' and being amazed by his abilites kinda reminds me of when people used to describe the 19-to-24 year-old Messi. They used very similar adjectives in a superlative way.
Prime Alcaraz at the age of 24-25 will be quite SCARY opponent to overcome for his rivals.
Changing of guard - Carlos Alcaraz. God bless !
It is one thing to have fans rave about you but another thing entirely to have legends of the sport and other players have so much respect for you as a player and person and recognize the great potential so early. In particular the words Andrey said were so considerate. Vamos Carlitos
This guy is the G.O.A.T for the next gen. When I saw him play Rafa last year in Madrid I thought that he could make it to the top 15, and maybe win over 10 tittles in total. But man was I wrong. Seeing him play 3! 5 set matches, and winning them all, to beating Ruud in 4 sets is something that is 1 in a billion. I am so lucky to see him in his early stages, and his prime. I couldn't do that for the big 3 because I was young at the time, and didn't watch tennis that much. Can't wait to see what he does in the asian swing, then in the Nitto ATP finals. My man is crazy!!!

There is no doubt that he and Iga are why I want to watch tennis now. But winning a slam is not only about skill. There's a whole approach to navigating the 2 weeks, and Alcaraz had some good breaks on his side of the draw and some very, very close calls. His strange losses in the middle of the season are a red flag, but he (like Iga has) can continue to improve and make some of those close matches less close. It easily could have been Sinner or Tiafoe in the final. But I actually don't care. Wawrinka may be one of my favorite players of all time, but Alcaraz (in men's tennis) is the only one who gives me that same feeling I get when watching Federer do his thing (even in losing matches). As he says, he loves playing tennis. And there's nothing so fine as watching someone who loves what they do do what they love. I hope he wins everything all over the place but in the meantime, I'll truly look forward to and enjoying watching him play.
Poignant for Dimitrov to talk about pressure at a young age - he was certainly able to perform, but I can't imagine the mental toll it takes on someone to not only be compared to one of the greatest of all time, but to then be picked apart whenever you don't succeed, as if it was your fault that you emulated that playstyle. As fans of a sport, we get too hyped over the next big prospect, and it takes special individuals to rise up despite the attention and pressure. Alcaraz will obviously succeed in the tennis world, but it's better to not label him with what he could be in the future - focus on the now.

As Novak said in the press conference after losing to him in the recent Wimbledon final, he has the best of Roger, Novak and Rafa. He has Roger's talent, Novak's mental resilience and Rafa's drive/heart. He has the best of all worlds. Man, are we lucky to have him for the next 15+ years, now that Roger retired and Novak and Rafa are approaching the end of their careers. I'm a huge fan already
Sasha said it best: we’re not gonna see a player like Carlos
As Grigor speaks from experience, he was spot on with his comments … being number one is the toughest position in tennis, pressure is now on Carlitos every time he steps on the court, he’s got what every player wants…. Maybe a bit too much, too soon ??…time will tell
These comments are so interesting, especially in light of what just transpired. Vamos Carlitos!

So cool to see. I was so sure that the Salad comment by Rafa will be in here, considering how good TennisTV is at picking up the trends. Can’t believe they missed that one
You got that right 👊🏼
To be honest, Sasha saying he's the best in the world is amazing.
I stay with Dimitrov's statement,I also think he shouldn't listen to anyone but his coach and the people around him because that's the most important opinions he needs to take, people and fanbase putting him up to the clounds can do so much more harm than help,he now reach the top of his expectations with a GS under the belt and a world number 1,we'll see what happens in the future.

@Young Young He's not that tall at all but hes still young enough that I think he might be able to grow an inch or 2 if hes lucky. I think there are plenty of guys on the tour close to 6' or under that have a more effective service game but with his ability to serve and volley he would almost never be broken in my opinion. As a Federer fan I'm afraid that upon his return, when meeting a player of this calibre, it might become a bit of a showdown. You have this 19 year old player going into stratospheric level and a 41 year old trying to recover into a shade of his prime. Watching Alcaraz today I'm not even sure prime Federer could beat him. No, such an encounter will not end well for Federer and I currently can't see what a come back could still add to the fantastic career he had.

@@knotwilg3596 Indeed, but at the tail end of his career, this may be the showdown Federer is looking for. @colbyscott8545

He had every justification to say that - Djokovic, while not allowed to play every tournament, still obviously plays as good as ever, as seen in Wimbledon. Medvedev won USO '21 and made the AO final this year and has shown he can be an all-surface player. There's no shame in losing to the Kyrgios we've seen recently. Zverev also had an incredible hard court season last year and was poised to give Rafa a big fight at this year's FO, arguably looking like he had a chance to win if he hadn't gotten injured (not to mention he had beaten Alcaraz the previous round). If you ask me, Medvedev and Zverev have been the most consistent among their generation, and Djokovic is very clearly still at the top level.
What likes me most is, he is really talented, a nice person, a fair player just like Sasha mentioned. But he seems no to be unbeatable as Roger and Rafa once looked like, what gives guys such as Zverev, Sinner, Medvedev, Tiafoe, maybe Rublev and Auger Aliassime to grab one or more GS which will make ATP interesting in the years to come
