Only remembering like important occasions . Guess he' s more a face- to -face kind of guy. Strange , u would kind of think that as an introvert that he' d prefer e-connections.🙂
Rafa has called Thiem a class act for a reason. Thiem is the complete package, talent, hard work, the game and now mindset to be No 1, fair play. Rafa and Thiem are my two favorite players.

@@Leo-nc3yx I don't know. He can chase down balls like hell, and, when he is on fire, his forehand groundstrokes are fast and heavy and can crush any player who gives him a soft ball. The only thing he needs to improve is his net game so he can become more multi-dimensional. In terms of ability, I think he is up there with anyone.

@@patricksweeney5308 👍. Surprising, but the new generation of swedes starting with bjorkman and soderling were quite abrasive. Soderling has been complimentary towards Nadal after his retirement though. He was an excellent player but a bit of an enigma. Delpotro is a class act and well liked by everyone on tour.
The Nishikori - Monfils pair was really unexpected ! That's really cool to see !

Rafa is a really close friend of Juan Monaco from Argentina (he's retired now) and every single time they played against each other, Rafa would barely lose a couple of games, let alone lose a set. He always destroyed Monaco.

Dominic is everyone’s best friend but he can only name so many
I think everyone naming Domi , and him saying 3 or 4, goes to speak of what type of guy he is. The type you want as your friend. Even the way he hugs other players is so genuine.
Becoming a Rublev fan more and more over the last 3 years or so. Seems like a good dude, solid head on his shoulders, super effort player.
Rublev & Medvedev & Karen Kachanav never ending friendship story.

Friendship is great communication so i see why most players prefer players who speak their language. Djokovic - serbian players Nadal - spanish players Thiem- zverev (as he said cause he speaks German). So the common denominator is language here.

Honestly I think what Diego meant was that outside of the Spanish-speaking guys, he'd pick Domi. He has a great relationship with Rafa and PCB which just aren't as 'storyworthy' to the ATP as him and Domi. I mean not everyone gets to take Rafa's boat out for a spin 🤷🏻♀️
