Maybe if your view of Witcher 3 is through the unreliable memory of having played it many years ago. If they were released in switched order I'm sure Witcher would be better but Cyberpunk 2.0 with expac is better. There's a lot of really dated systems in Witcher and it's not as immersive.

@@boltpaper3791 Yes, there is. Another 5 year old PC exclusive were just ported to console. "Hyberboxed". Starship Troopers from PC are coming to consoles 2 years later. Sega's Total War series. 100% PC exclusive. UBI have released at least 6 PC exclusives last 2 years. The list goes on. Steam alone got 4 times more new games than all consoles combined in 2023.

@@boltpaper3791 CS2, LoL/Dota, Tarkov, WoW and pretty much every other MMORPG, popular indies such as Sons of the Forest, Lethal company and Dark and darker. There's actually way more PC exclusives nowadays than Sony and Microsoft have.

@@ExodiumTM My point exactly. Skyrim was 1 step forward, two steps backwards. Almost everything was a downgrade. Combat was worse, UI is insultingly dumbed down, the roleplaying is practically nonexistent.

No ori games , no racing games at all( forza horizon , burnout paradise ) , no batman Arkham games ( Arkham knight looks spectacular on pc ) , list feels too incomplete.

Agree with baldurs gate 3. I bought it after release and played for a bit then benched it since it didn't appeal to me at first and find it rather boring that time. Now im on my 3rd playthrough pumping 300 hrs in it. I'm never going for the sharran Shadowheart even on my evil playthrough.

The problem with waiting to consider a game like Helldivers 2 in later years is that it's not clear the community will still be present in the same way in later years so 2024 might really be the best time to play it.

As a pure pc gamer, I'd take skyrim with mods, age of empires 2, medieval total war 2, and football manager (you read that right) over half of these games

FF14 is on Dawntrail expansion, so you're a bit off on the actual game current info and its way to low on the list.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. That's it, that's my comment.

Should have included Skyrim although for external reason, "Mods", Skyrim's Mod community still keep the rank 1 largest mod community over a decade and no game ever have close the number, it release 13years ago and no game has ever beat its mod community size or come close.

It’s an inherently subjective question.

To all the crybabies who don’t agree, you’ve clearly never ACTUALLY played BG3 or you’d agree. A game that gives you the freedom to approach everything in any way you want and usually if you think it might work it will, deserves to be first. The story and gameplay are also amazingly well crafted. You can get a huge enemy to drink himself to death or another to literally kill himself just by talking him into it. No other games on this list give you that level of freedom. Haters just hush. You. Are. Wrong.

Edgy? That says more about you than it does the game if that is the only adjective you can come up with to describe deeply written and layered characters. You’re a nincompoop. How does it feel to have nearly the entire gaming public think one thing and you think something else? That should show you that you’re probably incorrect. @@sensationalrebel9459 lol alot of early games did. Fallout 1&2, baldurs gate 1,2 , every final fantasy works out it's crit chance and damage numbers with rng and stat calculations. All Elder scrolls games up until morrowind did. Heroes of might and magic. Heck any RPG that has damage numbers and stats includes a mix of math and rng, largely built on the principles made in dungeons and dragons.

GTA SA, Portal, Civilization,Skyrim,Crysis,Oblivion,AOE 2,HL 2, Dragon age 1....Missed a whole lot

Some people can't fathom that you can have different opinions

That's not really a bias. Games ARE better now than they could be over 10 years ago. Please go back and actually try to play those old games. Nothing before 2010 really stands the test of time. Even stuff like Mass Effect 2 with Legendary edition remaster feels so bad when it comes to combat. Game design evolves and builds upon previous games. Trying to replay Dragon Age: Origins is rough even if the game doesn't crash. You basically have to make an adjustment for release date when ranking those games, like adjusting for inflation. This list has other issues, feels very made by a console player like the top comment says.
