    What would you change about the Fractal North, or is this case perfect for your needs? Let me know!

    I would make it a bit smaller. I'll never put more than a 3-slot GPU into it, probably just 2.5-slot. I'd rather have it a bit smaller. Otherwise it's perfect.

    I really love that Fractal North Case. When I built my PC in April it was sold out everywhere so I went with the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact and its the first time I had a little more pricy case and honestly 2000% worth it. I used to cut myself from exposed metal on cheaper cases. And this was so nice to work with.

    Sucks that it was sold out but with how great this case looks and functions, it makes sense haha. But the Meshify 2 is still a brilliant case from what I have seen so I am so glad you are happy with it! Yeah a lot of people cheap out on a case so they can spend a bit more on other parts, been there myself lol, but it goes to show these days how much of a headache you can save yourself by getting a nicer case. Also feeling a lot more proud of your pc looking really awesome.

    Looking to build a new PC later next year, unless something even classier comes out in the meantime, this will probably be my pick! Also wanted to say I really enjoyed this review, and was shocked at the end of the video when I realized you've got just over 1000 subs. Would have expected 50x that judging by your personality and quality of the video itself. Bonus points for my boy Slifer in the background

    Honestly, I have no idea how Fractal will top themselves here XD but the North is going to be hard to beat! Do you think you will go mesh or tempered glass side panel? And also, Dalton that is so incredibly kind of you to say! Thank you! I really try to put my all into what I do and it's honestly so nice to receive comments like this. And hell yeah for Slifer hehe

    Hey great video! I’m actually looking to get mine and start building fairly soon. One question though, I’ve read other reviews mentioning that it’s a “loud”, somewhat poorly insulated case, and that the tempered glass version may handle sound leakage better. It would be interesting to know your thoughts on that and if you’ve found that to be true on the mesh version. Cheers!

  • @Techtacula

    @Techtacula

    6 ай бұрын

    Thanks so much! I have not used the mesh version but naturally, with more holes in the case, it will introduce more sound being able to leak out of the case. So if sound is your biggest concern, the tempered glass version is the way to go, but otherwise, I would look for quiet but performant fans to put into the case and also replace on your cooler. GPU Fans there isn't much you can do about that with it ramping up but realistically, when you are gaming or have audio playing it does drown out any sound that might reach your ears.

    My current computer is now 10 years old. I am now looking at this case. Finally a nice looking case comes on the market! I was originally thinking the mesh looks more minimalist, but do you think the tempered glass one would be somewhat quieter? I suppose I would prioritise noise reduction over overflow... so I'm thinking of leaning in that direction now. What do you think?

  • @Techtacula

    @Techtacula

    If noise is your main concern then yeah the tempered glass is the way to go! But yeah the case is honestly one of the nicest cases thats been released in a long time!

    Given that there is a good majority that love to custom water cool or at the very least just want a bigger case for the best of the best, a larger size would be a pretty cool variation honestly !

    @@Techtacula well I used off the shelf custom loop stuff. I could have skipped the 560 external rad too and only use the internal 360 for a more conventional setup. Though a single 360 might not cut it for my hardware, AMD 5950x and RTX 3090

    If this barely fits a 4080/4090, then should the 5000 series and onward get any bigger, are you not severely limited from a future proofing perspective?

  • @Techtacula

    Who knows honestly. But different brands have different sizes, so it's more about finding a specific sku of that card which will fit.

    Hmm, just bought this case and it did not include capped thumb-screws. In fact, the thumb screws included on this case are much more cheaply built and like to cross thread when compared to the thumb screws that were included in my R5 back 6 years ago.

  • @Techtacula

    Hmm, that is odd. I unscrewed them enough to be loose and they stayed in. So either something is odd with your unit, or maybe you are just unscrewing them way too much?

    How is custom watercooling a no-go with this case?

  • @Techtacula

    @Techtacula

    4 ай бұрын

    My wording could have been better here on that point so apologies for that. It's extremely limited for mount points of pumps/reservoirs. You wouldn't get free choice of components in order to use something that fits. It's also not officially supported via the product page on Fractals website. While it would be possible, it is just very limiting for any custom water cooling.

    I've heard a lot people call cases with bad airflow an oven? Shouldn't it be the other way around, since cases with good airflow is better at moving the heat out into the room thus warming up the room more like an oven would?

  • @Techtacula

    @Techtacula

    10 ай бұрын

    Well yeah, we don't want the hot air in the case, we want it exhausted into the room where it can be dispersed haha And then the PC components kept nice and cool! Otherwise your PC becomes the oven because all the hot air is inside heating your components up way more than they should

  • @ei..

    It's not designed with water cooling in mind. It's not impossible and I've chatted with other commenters that my thought could have been expressed and worded better. It's just really not ideal for it. The bigger XL version that just released however has way more space to do water cooling.
