EB decks are super dependent on draw. Unnecessary nerf. You don't get the blade by turn 4 you're basically cooked in most traditional EB decks

This honestly sounds so fun. Maybe Corvus is needed though so you can Hela on 5 often. If you play her on 6 there's a fair chance you get goblins stuck on your side. If that happens on 5, atleast you can run anni. Definitely an interesting idea that I'm def gonna try!

I feel like Stegron is good now. Clog right side with White Widow, Debrii, Green Goblin. Maybe add Miles. 4-7 too.

I think they imagine Shanna-Kazar-Gilgamesh being a core with Blue Marvel and Sersi as other options, but the randomness is too bad with how many bad 1s there are

if you sneak out redhulk with jubilee it procs skar now, which works for my fave deck rn

Black knight nerf is silly. You have to commit at least 6 energy to get it down, more likely 8 and a 2 cost shadow king erases it

It took a while like prof x and thanos nerf, they do like taking their sweet time nerfing the top decks of marvel snap it seems and more quick to throw stray nerf to cards that are performing mediocre.

@@Shapoopka I think the problem was the cube loss because players would hope the RNG of card placements for Hela would screw the opponent over. Like players would bet a 8 cube match hoping that hela would misplace my cards for me to lose. Hela is mostly RNG reliant and less skill based but that what makes it fun.

Yeah theres a big difference between an effect being random and one thats specific in this game. It may not make Stegron meta or busted but having a reliable way to move opposing cards can be useful to a few different decks. A 4/7 isnt bad in terms of power and i can see him fitting in various small mover decks or even control/lockdown decks now. I guess we'll see if the change will be meaningful (but imo stegrons a lot better than Canonball now which is kind of F'ed up if you ask me)

I can't wrap my head around this Professor X change... I'm so used to him fully locking down a location which can be detrimental if you do it early. But now you can move cards into there and it's not a guaranteed win unless an opponent has Jeff like before? Gonna take some getting used to playing him now...😅

I feel like you’re hugely underestimating the Stegron buff here: one of the biggest problems that made him unusable was the unpredictability of where the moving card was going to end up. The consistency along with +1 power will definitely get him in some decks.

Yes it will be bounce and thena angela decks already can get on the same power level and now hela loses avrg of 8-10 power on her high rolls 10 power can really lose lanes hard and don't forget now for sure everyone is going back to the corvus builds cuz you need more discards to make up for the lose in power BUT corvus is randome and often will lose you the game. Also don't forget the goal is not to kill cards they are in the game to be played+ hela is one of the few budget tier 1-2 decks the only series 4-5 you really need are corvus and blink and worst case you can even just go collin wing ans dracula instead of those and red hulk can just be regular hulk tbh

I think making Hela a 6/2 would of been a fine nerf, if that doesn’t work than limit to Hela summon 4 random cards. Would also push out Modok out of Hela decks. Invisible woman modok and Hela is still a great deck if you can’t disrupt IW.

@@Woozie87the invisible woman and modok deck was running iron man tribunal and that is completely torched now. using invisible woman doesnt seem like itll be worth it at all anymore. the iron man tribunal stuff made it a guaranteed win combo if not disrupted and without that insane power its just as beatable as regular hela. red guardian, rogue, enhcantress, polaris, lady deathstrike, and cosmo all be death sentences for the card and deck makes it pretty unplayable.

I haven't opened a new cache for 4 months, a great feeling to not get totally screwed over with an OTA when you just don't care anymore

Hey Alex, do you think there's a world now where you can play Hercules on 4 and X on 5 to lock down the lane? I'd love to see you try a deck around it!

I almost spent 6000tokens on cannonball because of this lockdown meta however i saw that it is coming out in a spotlight soon i think in august so i can get it for free then im so happy i saved my tokens cause i just knew the combo would be nerfed

The change to profX proposed by the community was much more graceful, either ongoing neither player can PLAY on this location or old spider man text, neither player can PLAY in this location next turn, i deeply believe doom should be able to affect prof X lane. Prof X should be an upgraded storm, you pay 2 more than storm so you dont have to wait one turn to flood the location

“Anti-fun card” is the best way to put it. Both Xavier and Hela. And people could say “but you can used them too”, and that’s true, they’re good cards to win games, but they were kind of a dick move.

I love you and cozy so much. Your vids are great.

I think uatu ability needs to be like Howard, where he can foresee location for next turn which is susceptible to change due to the world forge

I honestly don't think those nerfs are THAT big. Yeah the Prof X - Cannonball synergy breaks so that *deck* is done but both seem like fine individual cards still. But maybe Storm is back on the menu and that's cool.

The issue i think is that decks like Hela are getting nerfed while still being playable, whereas lockdown is completely changed for the worse with the nerf to proX. Obviously the card was strong, but it absolutely wasn’t uncontrollable. If you’re terrified of turn five daredevil, retreat if you have to, but ProX is still a guessing card that can whiff really hard and now it’s just strait up bad.

I got Helfire Cap a while back from a free PMV and now i can finally use him , as of the last buff and now he's better , in Thanos Ongoing so the stones in the art make sense . ✌️

I don’t think the hela nerf was enough , def a good step. But when you pull out infinaut, red hulk, giganto, your going to take off 12 points, but your still splashing 50+ points on the board lol

Major changes is no joke, I would absolutely agree this is one of if not the best patch they’ve done. We gotta see how it plays out but the Stegron buff and Prof X nerfs make the game REALLY exciting alone! Control is so good now, Shadow King just gets better and better every day.

Oh no, Professor X! He was such a big part of my War Machine deck along with others!😭 I thought he was fine as is since playing him could sometimes screw over the player if someone else played a more powerful card the same turn anyway 😂

The day this patch comes out it'll be a good day to be a Marvel Snap player. A significant change to Prof X, after all its not the first time he's been meta defining, and cannonball he latest partner catching the stray. Tribunal has helped me counter them on occasion but nothing concrete. Hela also getting a look at, I'm hopeful but doubt the impact the -2 power will have, as you mention with the big cards that normally join her, death, infininaut, magneto, etc. will still put down massive numbers,

Pro x cannonball is actually a really fun and fair match against tribunal (speaking as the cannonball player) because both decks are so explosive on turn 6. If I have priority, I’m often screwed, since I can’t destroy tribunal, but if I don’t, I can often beat out tribunal with cannonball and take the game. One of my personal favorite matchups just off of technical skill

Happy with the nerfs but sad about the captain America buff. Was enjoying him in Cerebro 2

The gilg buff is def a move to make the season pass more appealing but it also shows how many people are starting to really stop spending like they say. If so good job snappers

@@LordGwynn seriously, its fuking weird how they be throwing strays at some cards like spectrum, dark hawk, lady deathstrike all dropping one point of power when i saw no one complaining about them and cannonball got hit with 2 nerfs, like prof x nerf is enough for cannonball i feel like because everyone said cannonball felt okay at 5/8. I'm so puzzled at wtf they are thinking.

Stegron going to be a legit consideration for clog decks. His stats are good and he has a targeted ability now. Targeted = at least decent. WW goblin and debris

I think despite Leech and Prof X both being equally toxic on paper when it comes to not letting you play the game I think we were ok with Prof X because it was symmetrical and Leech isn't. Both players can get screwed by Prof X but Leech only screws the other person but Canonball took away a lot of the downsides of Prof X. I think taking away the Ravona Synergy is also a huge nerf to Prof X cause playing him on 4 was INSANE!!!

I think you were too hard on the steg buff cause it’s pretty nice getting rid of randomness

Dont sleep on Stegron Alex. Remember that when Blade discarded a card at random he was trash. When the discard change to a targeted discard the card is core in discard now. So a targeted move is sooo much better than a random move.

The Cannonball / Prof X combo was old but this nerf to X is waaaay too much. I say this as someone who doesn't even have Cannonball and reached Infinite in the first week of this new season.

It's hilarious that they think -2 power is the solution to Hela. The complete Card Memory is the problem. Once you make it not worth the power play, they'll find a way to make the on reveals worth throwing 4-6 Cards onto the table on Turn 6.

TLSG put out a zoo deck and it’s pretty good.

I love Stegron and I'm unsold on the change, I understand targeted effects can make cards stronger but losing the ability to disrupt the right location completely and no way to go the other direction...maybe I would have liked "adjacent" location better where it's still targeted on the left and right and spicier in the middle. Might find a spot in clog decks now but it's still going to be the worst card in the deck tbh this change makes him more boring than it does better, and I'm double sad that they dropped this on Sersi week with all the clips of random Steggies hatching and slapping cards around. like the patch a lot otherwise, but had to pour one out for my boy

Thank you for this breakdown. Man now I am definitely staying away from buying the season pass for this month. They buff this card cause it did not sell well and I bet SD will most likely nerf back into the ground in a month or two.

Personally I thought the meta was fine. I was beating a lot of those prof decks with my off meta builds. It seems like people get all up in arms as soon as they lose to something a few times.

Looks like Desmond got his wish with the X nerf. Wonder if he’ll be irrelevant again and if we’ll see less CB as well. Hela nerf to me just means no more Hela Tribunal but that was already hard to play once everybody started running Red Guardian, etc. Ebony Blade nerf to me feels wrong. Already risky going for it. Maybe make it a 5 card if anything. Red Hulk nerf was needed. Watch Gilgamesh get nerfed once the season is over. 😅

Can we talk about Gilg being a 5/9 but Black Panther still being a 5/8? Give me 5/3 Triple this card's power!! I think Evo is coming back with Hela and specifically Red Hulk eating nerfs
