    So cute!! I have an Aussie doodle. She is overdue a groom, and I have new clippers. I have most of the mats gone, but she won’t let me get under her ears -she shakes her head; and twists away when I try to work on her belly and inner flank.

He's a ton of work, but a total sweetheart so he's worth it 😂 I got a bad back, too, and have to take lots of breaks bc i don't have a table yet. Thank you for sharing this, for those of us who do most of our own grooming!

Learned how to do it by watching many dog groomers over the last couple of years. I could not afford to take them both in several times/year. I know this is hard work and I can only do 1/day LOL. @@TheLuvOfDogs Good luck with the DNA test. I’m sure you won’t love her any less!! My dogs are from same parents 5 years apart. The boy (in pic) is oldest at 9 and he looks way different than his sister. She is black mostly with some gray. I guess you could call it salt and pepper? Her fur is much more the shitzu type and he has much more pom in him. Since I’m older, I just want to have one dog. When he’s gone my little girl is enough! She has a totally sweet and motherly personality. I have a neighbor that has a Cavalier. He is so cute. The breeder I got my two from also breeds the shichons. I guess it’s hard to tell what they will look like when grown up. I’ll take a look at your dog food video. Thanks for responding. It is calming to watch you groom because you cut out a lot of the noise, especially the dang dryer! Why don’t they put silencers on those things? One groomer I watch puts ear protection on the dogs and herself! Take care and Happy New Year!

I’m going to do an update on my channel soon because there have been some changes on my end recently. Thank you so much for the kind words. Yes I like to cut out the loud noises in the background because it can be distracting and overwhelming. Thank for your support to my channel and such great and positive feedback. For the company I use to work for, they don’t allow for us to place things on the dogs head. I have a male sheepadoodle-14 months and about 57 lbs. we get his body and legs very short. He has a long tail and I would call it a fox tail shape. (My groomer does a very nice job with it.) we don’t do a really obvious teddy bear head. It is a bit longer than his body, but not very round.and I like his eyes to be very clear of hair so that he doesn’t run into things in his exuberance. Will grooming a 5 Month old golden doodle to this length permanently ruin their coat? My groomer just did a similar cut to my golden doodle puppy and now I am worried that his hair is going to be damaged.

  • @TheLuvOfDogs

    @TheLuvOfDogs

    10 ай бұрын

    So, not necessarily. I personally, as a groomer would’ve recommended waiting until 6 months or later when the adult coat is fully grown in but at 5 months it should’ve started to grow in by then so you honestly should be ok. If there were any matting that’s what most groomers would recommend if the puppy isn’t tolerating the dematting.

  • @TheLuvOfDogs

    @TheLuvOfDogs

    No problem! His hair should definitely grow back in. I wouldn’t make it his primary cut (getting cut that short) as over time it may damage the coat. For the summer time if you want him a nice short length I would recommend a 5/8 guard comb. It’s short but not to the skin, still leaves a little fluff and will keep them cool

    My doodle is identical to the Sam. I took her to the groomer over the weeked and now she has a hematoma on both ears. Does this happen regularly when their ears get shaved?

    Yes, if the ears are matted tight, once we shave the ears, the blood rushes back down to the bottom of the ears, and that is a weird sensation for dogs, so they constantly shake their head which causes the hematomas. Matting cuts off circulation so once the matting is relieved, the circulation can return back to that spot. Most dogs don’t like the feeling of it, so they generally get hematoma’s in their ears.

    @@TheLuvOfDogs thank you. I did not realize this was caused by matting. I am trying to be the best dog mom and continue to educate myself. Love your channel!

    Teddy bear: round fluffy face, short body. Fuller legs are adorable but I'm more concerned with the round face on my doodle

    Taking my doodles tomorrow to groomers who would I request this cut so my groomer knows what I want? Thank you in advance

    It is a 4 blade on the body and a 0 guard comb on the face. Sometimes you can just show a pic and the groomer can usually tell what the cut is

    I have a long haired dashund and I like to keep her shaved short, cos she is low to the ground she sweeps the floor with her body and tail and is for ever getting sticks n leaves stuck in her fur and in the summer she is too hot.

    So we’re actually allowed to record, take pics or whatever because it’s in the form pet parent’s sign. But I just prop my phone up and leave it and they don’t say anything. I’ve been with the company for a little over 12yrs so they just leave me lol. But we are allowed to
