I used to get off of 40 at the Seligmam AZ exit and run old Rt 66 into Kingman. It was probably one of favorite routes. I ran a short hood Pete 359, Cat 3406A, Fuller 14613 13 speed. I put 3/4 million miles on it. I want to thank you for keeping me connected to my past. Lots of love Brother Keep on Truckin'!

Im glad i was able to atleast experience tucking in the 90's riding with my dad. I still love it to this day, but in my own opinion the 90's were the last of the old school days. No GPS, no cell phones, the trucks were trucks and drivers were not only steering wheel holders.🤠😎😎

Great Video Mike awesome! I really enjoy all your videos, ive trucked thru the mid 70,s and 80,90,2000! Saw alot of truck,s and driver,s on here that I knew and met on the road, from the days of being a Owner Operator Trucking around the country mostly Cali. The one photo ecspecially 7:27 caught my eye the older GT. Goodway Transport Freightliner company truck looks like it was parked at the old Beacon Truck Stop off Milliken Ave. In Ontario Ca. across from the T/A & old 76 back in around 1992! Or 93 spent many of times there waiting for early morning deliveries around the Los Angeles area.Them were good ole days of Trucking let me tell ya if you driven back then and lived thru it, ya know what I mean.✌🏼

This is my first comment, Mike. I watch all the time. But Truckin' in the 90's hit home. I was an owner operator and a Gypsy, Wildcatter in the late 70's until 89. You guessed it , I ran produce out of mostly California but some Florida . I ran mostly I81 and I40 so I love this one.

LOL 😂, I started OTR in one of those JB HUNT Cabovers, back then they only ran 58mph, that was JB Hunt’s Company Speed. Driving through Texas was pure Torture, 60 mph for trucks and 55 mph at night, and they meant it. 100% The best thing about back then; there were 500 thousand less trucks on the Road back then!

Pretty cool! I remember you mentioned "" Glass etching "" in another video. I think it was one of the truck shows. Yeah, another world. You can catch enough with every couple word's in English popping up and of course the video rolling to understand the gist of the conversations. Thanks for sharing this with us. I was surprised by the amount of Swift trucks that I saw. Maybe they weren't so notorious back in the day? I really don't remember that much stuff about them. Thanks again for keeping the stories and history alive.

Those were some great days back in the day when driving a truck was freedom from working with out someone looking over your sholder all the time.Thats why I started driving and loved the job Drivers helped one another they talked to each other it was so much fun. Nowadays with the government so entrenched into the industry with overregulation and the CDL schools that only teach how to get your license and nothing else the attitudes of drivers its no fun anymore. Trucks back then had a personality now they all look alike or futuristic the way they are designed. I personally miss the old days and am glad that im retired i loved the job and don't regret doing it at all just wish it was like it used to be. Thanks Mike for going down memory lane 👍

Plus you have a aluminum trailer those steal racks will slide real bad when you hit your brakes hard. Don't want to to get hit in the back of the head with a coil going through your sleeper and cab.

That was a really awesome video, I sure do miss the truckstop whip Café. I remember those telephones at the booth, and the payphones all lined up in a row at the TA. I started in 2000 so I caught just the end of the era. I remember having to stop to make a call on the payphone to the customer to get directions because the math book would always bring you to the city in those directions. We’re only right at the time. They would always give you directions for a four wheeler, so you always had to watch it when you went to the big city. Truckee was definitely more of a challenge back then.
