Mr Gordon it is wonderful to have you here in my beloved country, I hope you've had a great time. One thing that would like to mention is that you keep repeating the same mistake when it comes to the history of this land, the Ottomans have never set a foot in Morocco.. and as a matter of fact the Moroccan identity that you've seen and experienced was established centuries before even the Ottomans existed in Anatolia (today's turkey). I hope you visit us again.. there is a lot more to the Moroccan cuisine than what you've tasted in Fas :))

I believe he means the Ottoman influence in Morocco which was in fact an influence that was felt in every North African and middle eastern country. This is because the Ottoman Empire was the leading khilapha in the Muslim world at its peak. From spices to instruments and offcourse the hamam (which in fact came from the ottomans)
@klapitall

@@billydanger2312 no i assure you there is no influence of the ottomans in morroco. Incredible video! As a Moroccan, I highly respect Gordon's appreciation of our culture given he is an international eminent chef. The people featured in this episode couldn't have represented our culture and customs any better, Moroccans are kind, hospitable and immensely generous from the North of the nation to its South, and these are qualities which are engraved into our identity as Moroccans!
I love this vlog, Moroccan culture and hospitality are good. and Gordon respect there culture and foods
Ranking nicest people in the world 1. MOROCCO❤️ 2. Morocco 3. Morocco SOURCE: FATIMA ❤️
The first time I see him not complaining Morocco done good
The Almohad dynasty, a Berber empire, made hammams popular throughout the country in the 12th century. Gordon is with the berbers, yet he can't help insulting them by claiming their traditions are Turkish and that the Ottomans brought it their in the 12th century. The Ottomans' lackluster attempt to make Morocco a vassal state ultimately failed when Murad III invaded in the 16th century and the Turkish army was paid in gold to leave. The so-calked vassal period lasted only 2 years between 1576 and 1578. Hammams were already there, Gordon!
Out of all your TV shows to do with cooking this one is by far the best Gordon , please may it continue .
