What. A. Year. We are so happy to share our annual drone compilation of Cape Breton Island for 2020. Enjoy! It was a year of uncertainty, learning, growth, and letting our treasured time in the outdoors lead the way. Thank you to everyone that was a part of our year both big and small. Thank you for the socially distanced hellos, the kind comments of those that virtually traveled through us from afar, our close friend bubble that made us laugh more in a year then we even thought possible, and for our freakin wonderful Island that never ceases to take our breath away. Though we don’t know what 2021 will bring, please find comfort in knowing these sights of Cape Breton will always be here waiting for you.

I’ve lived here all my life…born and brought up in Whitney pier…….. travelled overseas,husband and I spent many winters in Florida…each time we returned…..crossing the causeway…always wanted to kiss the ground….l feel so blessed to have been born here.. Traveled the Cabot trail many,many autumns….never get tired of its beauty….there are many beautiful places on this island…..plus the music …is another treasure……
Its Such a beautiful place.. Been gone almost 40 years and return as much as possible but my heart has never left. Great footage..

Beautiful. I wish for next year you would consider a few urban scenes because that part of our island is also beautiful... coming down the hill on George St at that exact moment when you can see as far as the big fiddle is one I know well but I bet there are others. Maybe I am planting the seed for 2021!

@@daveyandsky I'm sure! I edit video so I can imagine. I was just making a friendly suggestion about urban content. the seed is planted! It just came to mind, what do cruise ship passengers see as they arrive to Sydney? It is really a very pretty town.

Isn't Cape Breton a no-fly zone for drones? Just bought the Mavic Air2 and wanted to shoot some videos in there

You need a permit and some times park staff with you if it's in the park

@@daveyandsky Does the permit have to be presented before entering the park? Did the staff accompany you when you filmed with the drone？

@@jinxicao8763 You need a license for your drone so you can fly it in most areas that are not within the park, above people or buildings. Then you would need to apply for a permit through Parks Canada to fly in the park. A parks staff member has to be with you for the flight. The basic license is open book and is only 10 bucks I think. Theres also a good map on where you can and can't fly if you google Canada drone map gc gov
