Your tiny asterisk in the corner says that the free version has most paid version features. They literally have a chart that shows out of the 7 features we currently use, only 3 will be carried over unless you subscribe. That asterisk is a lie.

To all the people who value their money: Do not subscribe to this app, this was a paid app and the developer out of nowhere switched to a subscription model and now wants people who already paid for the app once to keep paying them again and again. This is quite unethical on their part and it’s safe to say as people who don’t wanna regret losing their money, we should stay away from all this developer’s apps.

I hate that you released this video today. Notability used to be a good app, but now after today's announcement it makes it harder to justify, it's going to a subscription model and the "free version" is only allowing limited editing for documents.

I update it without knowing n was like damnn… i got into annual subscription version😫 n regret for updating this. If you’re ok with previous features as a minimalist, hope you do not update it.

Actually, they allow you to have a free subscription all the way to Nov 2022, but some websites say that you probably won't be able to use the app afterwards if you don't update and follow the subscription that Notability came up with, so it doesn't matter whether you update it or not. I was distraught when I saw your comment immediately after my app finished updating. It's really cheap of them to push us paid users onto subscriptions and threaten to take away what we've paid for in the past unless we pay again. Will be switching to GoodNotes immediately after my free window of subscription ends

Been supporting the channel for over a year now but I don’t think I agree with this video. Notability really did its existing users dirty with the yearly subscription. Pretty much a no-brainer to switch to Goodnotes 5 unless you have the budget to keep Notability. Still love you, Nasir! Keep up the great videos!

I've been using Notability for more than a year now since I first got my latest iPad Pro. I wouldn't have noticed a change in how Notability provided the app services until I came across videos on youtube notifying me of the move to the subscription model. It's such a bullshit dick move from the developers. I don't care if there is "increasing costs" in covering server fees. I literally don't care. What pisses me off so much is the fact we're only given one year from today to use the existing features of Notability before we're forced to choose between a paid service that will keep the source code updated, OR keeping the free version that will eventually become obsolete.

Followed your videos and progress for a long time. Personally I‘m super disappointed that you decided to promote an app that pretty much scammed it‘s userbase. People that already bought the software are now forced to pay a subscribtion after one year without getting additional features. So you have to pay more money for the same app you already paid for.

As of the new update to Notability (version 11.0), the developer has stated those who purchased the app before it was free will only have the functionality they paid for, for the next year, and will then be downgraded to the free version. This is against App Store guidelines section 3.1.2(a) which states that an app switching to a subscription model cannot remove features for those who have previously purchased the app.

Don’t agree with this video because notability has violated appstore guidelines. You are overlooking that and supporting them after getting paid a bunch money.

I...don't really know how to feel about this video. I've been a constant big fan of this channel ever since end of 2020 when I discovered it, and always massively enjoyed every single video put out. Now I found out that Notability has switched to a subscription-based app, when I've been a paid user since late 2020, and that Nasir is pushing it due to a sponsorship, when it's not only not beneficial to existing users, it is also quite cheap seeing that I didn't think that he would stoop down to this level and pull his audience along like this. First of all, I'm not saying that it's 100% his fault and that this video shouldn't exist. Whatever cheap gimmicks come from Notability, and not this channel. I just want to say I'm quite disappointed, although not very surprised seeing as a sponsorship is very desirable, no matter the creator. I just thought that maybe this wouldn't be the channel that I see such blatant support, with no consideration for the existing Notability users from, guess I'm wrong. Like what some viewers said, really didn't expect this from you :(

great video, but why doesn't anyone talk about one note? 1. it has the same file organization system as notability 2. it has a dividers function which you talk about, as subpages within pages 3. it has a scanning feature too 4. you can search all your notes, even if it's in pictures. 5. doesn't have a gallery feature, but you can literally do this on any other file sharing platform 6. one note has multi-device access too, whether it be windows or mac! 7. one note has the same if, not better level of customizability 8. it has a dictation feature too. I really don't know why ur paying for an app, when one note does all of this and its available for free!

Whatever you do, do not buy notability if you are into digital note taking. They have scammed all their old users who bought their app by abruptly changing their business model to monthly subscription. This video did not mention about it at all becus they were sponsored by notability. I would recommend you to either goodnotes which you only have to pay once to get all the features of the app or collanote which is free but miles better than notability

Hello. I study vet in Turkey but. I have a problem studying in Turkish. I want a way to study faster. Please

I used notability and good notes for a semester each and I just have to say that the entire time I was using good notes, I was tremendously missing notability. It is so much better in nearly every way. There were maybe one or two things that I preferred in good notes but with this new update, it makes it worth it to switch back to notability. Good notes also would have trouble uploading documents at times and specific documents would import with half the text missing. The new feature where you can add dividers within dividers is unbelievably useful. Not a sponsor but seriously if you have to choose one, choose notability! I could go on and on about all the ways in which it's better but go and try for yourself! Never switching from notability again!

@@vannistube Yeah you should go for goodnotes as it provides more features. The only thing that I'm afraid of is that goodnotes should not follow suite. It shouldn't come up with a freemium model like that of notability

It is worth noting that there are far more problems with this app than mentioned here in the video. I have upgraded to the paid version on this recommendation and my apps have all just completely screwed up. Syncing is a huge problem between the Mac and iPad. I have a ton of notes now which have highlighting in all the wrong places and side notes which refer to nothing. Obviously not Kharma medics problem but as you are sponsored by them could you ask the team at Notability to possibly look into this?
