9:20 Game crashes are common in the PC version, even on "period correct" hardware. It has something to do with roadblock spawns trying to access an invalid address and attempting to place it in a place where there's no road (citation needed). Basically leading to an invalid opcode being triggered and the game deciding to yolo it and crash. This is fairly common on the PC version, especially on highways. The spot you crashed in is honestly the biggest offender in the whole game.

Years ago i changed something in the registry. I think it was the cache size. After that i never had any crashes during a persuit anymore.

I'll elaborate a bit more on this. The crash has to do with a roadblock in front of the baseball field. There is a fix for this on NFSMods by GrimMaple called MWFixes. It only works on version 1.3. Speedrunners use version 1.2, but know where to go during pursuits to avoid this game crash. Extra Options does not contain this fix.

Beside Prostreet and Underground 1 & 2 , Most Wanted probably had one of the cooolest Atmospheres , they really nailed the Ghetto Aestheic with a mixture of Nu Metal style in the game.

Yea, Razor sucked as a driver and a real performance car gave him the #1 blacklist spot🤣 I wonder how many crowds he spun out into when he was ‘racing’ the Mustang 💀

This game is gold. Playing this as a 5th grader on GameCube with my cousins was just a great highlight from my childhood. It’s crazy that they will never be able to make a NFS game as great as Most Wanted or Carbon

The intensity of these chases are insane. I remember as a kid having chases that lasted almost an hour and just being so mentally exhausted afterwards.

I must say, I always liked NFS Carbon more than NFS MW, but that doesn't mean that NFS MW isn't pure gold, because it is.

Happy 18th anniversary NFSMW! If this game was a person, then it would be an adult by now.

took me way longer than I expected

Going 400 km/h in the tunnel speedtrap race in a c6 vette or something while "You Will Be Under My Wheels" by Prodigy is playing is just something no nfs will ever replicate for me. The vibes in this game were amazing. YES, THE PISS FILTER INCLUDED, NO ITS NO UNNESCESSARY. Well scratch that, hot pursuit 2010 was amazing too. I had just as much fun turboing on a long deserted road in a gallardo while Cinema by Benny Benassi was playing. I think that the soundtracks are a big part in how enjoyable a game is.

The xbox port had better default graphics than the other ports including the pc, the background details are much better, from what I remember, in that port

@@pyrophobia133 the opportunity for mods is a big factor, and gaming PCs becoming more and more prevalent is a big part too, but when the 360 came out, PCs were kinda hard to get, cuz the shit was mad expensive. Pretty sure at the time, my xbox had more rendering power than any pc I'd ever seen in person. And with so many copies sold, and no one getting rid of them, people HAVE to play on pc if they have one, cuz a used xbox copy is still like $50. It's easier and cheaper now to just pirate and mod it

My only complain about this game is the car selection, Midnight Club 3 had a lot more variety... of course Need For Speed World would fix that issue 7 years later.

Need For Speed World unironically is the ultimate NFS experience if you liked Carbon as well

The game might not have aged well in certain aspects but the handling model was nearly perfect. I really disliked them going to Criterions brake to drift handling model.

I will say this game has 1000% brought me on-board to NFS as a whole and you can never change my mind that police corvettes are the coolest thing ever!

The crashing problem is mostly related to Windows 10, if you play it on Windows 7 it works flawlessly (atleast it did for me)

I had and finished the black edition in my old 500mb of ram pc that I had for a month. Even if it ran on "recommended" specs i would avoid entering Rockport as it would drop to 5 fps It was the happiest month of my life

9:26 for a lot of people nowadays use mods like extra options and widescreen fix that gives you a lot of options to customize the game and fix stuff like the crashing you are talking about

Getting pretty crazy with intros love it. I also recommend doing challenge runs like trying beat the game with a stock car (yes even one guy’s most iconic car the golf) or one car run or even pokemon style nuzlock where if you lose a race or a cop chase that car gone and no longer can you buy it again. Makes the game fun and challenging

This game was one of the best nfs games in the series, going against blacklist racers in a m3 gtr with a 900,000 bounty on my head while running from corvette cops was the coolest thing about this game, cross yelling EVERYONE! was hilarious 😂

i can't really describe how good is nfs mw but i reallyyyyy enjoyed playing nfs undercover on pc it's surprisingly sooo good

not to mention what makes people still play the game is the community mod that offers different experiences of the game, from Redux for better shader, graphic, and new cars. Or hardcore mod which makes everything more challenging etc

Always kinda baffled me that they did not include free roam in the quick race mode. For this first time in an open world NFS game, you have cops, but can't get into freeroam chases without threatening your career mode? Seems like a weird choice. Sure you have the challenge series, but I'd like to get into chases using cars I created.

You can get into chases on PC with the cars you made using an option in Extra Options called Freeze Car Hack. Select your car in the Quick Race menu, activate Freeze Car Hack, back out to career. You can also free roam with Challenge Series cars this way. As far as not threatening your career, turn off autosave before the chase.

My brother had this game for PS2 when it was new and he was really into it. He actually also regularly had problems with it crashing which pissed him off a lot but that might have been because he played it so much his PS2 would get hot.

Glad im not the only one on this Planet that likes the NFS 2015 Cutscenes.

Been watching a lot of videos about this game and it stands out to me how many people really like Ronnie. I always remembered his whole name all these years because he was so memorable.

One of the best feelings in the game is when you spend the whole playthrough collecting Junkman parts, then you get an end-game car and apply them all to it, turning it into an overpowered monster that destroys all in its path. Even the M3 had nothing on my fully boosted 911. On the other hand one of the worst feelings I had was when you try to explore the open world, you accidentally bump a trash bag and a bench, so now you got cops on you and can't explore anything. Sometimes I just want to free-roam like in UG2 but the game simply won't let me. I think that was a big oversight.

Exactly, the fully junkman Carrera GT was absolutely insane. The journey from the starter shitboxes to such a beast was the best.

A game where a loser with a sick ass mustang and loser friends tries to steal your BMW and your girl and fails miserably.

I vividly remember the hillarity when an invisible spike strip punched all of my tires, then I slid into THE BLINDSPOT and dropped my jaw as 20+ pursuers lost track of me from the other side of the fence literally within spitting distance. Then the helicopter arrived and hovered above me for 5 minutes before leaving, eventually letting my cooldown run out. That particular blindspot is the only area of the map the AI cannot path into unless they are directly trailing you and follow you in, so once you figure it out you will also use it as your GetOutOfPursuitFree card. I haven't played the game in years but I remember the blindspot is perfectly placed on the longest highway circuit on the map, it's located directly above the narrow tunnel which leads out to a wide, clear curve on one side and a lane-split on the other side. The blindspot is actually a grassy area fenced in-between two lanes and it can only be accessed from the junction ahead of it. When you run into the blindspot, the entrance junction is too far from the point you're standing on (which is the main reason why the AI cannot path into it even by accident).

To skip the prologue intro, play on PC and use Extra Options. I really enjoy the intro for most playthroughs, but sometimes I want to test things in career immediately. There are also mods which change how the intro races are. My favorite being one which makes the start and finish lines match up with the cutscenes. The modding community has made this game's replayablility go through the roof. For your complaint on the graphics, if you want better graphics, check out any of several graphics mods. There's a widescreen patch and multiple texture mods which make the game look like it came out only a few years ago. The community has effectively remaster this game as good, if not better than EA could.

I don't know about you but by the final parts of the game I was so fatigued doing bounty chases to compete with the blacklist that I almost quit the game because, for me, it was a way to make the game longer that it really should be But after all, this is by far the greatest NFS ever made for me. They really need to remaster this game for the console. We all been waiting for years for this game to get a remastered

It's funny to consider that Underground 2 was supposed to have cops already, they just didn't have the time to implement them. I didn't really enjoy the open world in U2, because it was more like a heavily abstracted menu system, the only discerning features i remember are the hill area with all the luxury apartments, and the downtown area with all the fountains. Half the camping takes place on separate race tracks anyway. MW nailed that interaction between the racing you'd already be doing, and the open world you can explore outside of it, and the cops are a large part of transitioning the player between them. MW isn't afraid to put you under pressure, and i love that about it, it combines with the music and aggressive cop AI to give you that rare dopamine hit of racing excitement. I usually don't play more arcade racers, because they lack the pressure of stuff like your car breaking down mid race, or entering a corner too fast, but Most Wanted can achieve that tension without any involved body simulation, just by the constant threat of losing your tuned up car. The story ties into this too, i think they made it cheesy on purpose, because it's more memorable that way, and let's be fair, the gameplay to cutscene ratio is the exact opposite of a Kojima game.

This And Carbon, my two most favorite games i play when i am feeling down. for me Carbon is just as good as MW 2005. These 2 are very close to my heart, bcz these two games were the first Racing games i completed without any one's help. For UG 1 and UG2 i sought my fathers help but these 2 i completed without any help and i was especially proud of it. Great Video, i hope you do the same for Carbon as well. that game although is very short but is very fun to play. But since Carbon has 4 progression overhaul mods. Like Battle Royale Mod, Ultimate Mod, Improvement Mod, and Endgame Mod: you can use any of these 4 to enhance your experience a lot. For me i prefer Ultimate Mod because of it's Upgrading system which is taken directly from MW and Prostreet and it adds almost every single race from the Challenge Series of Carbon to it's Career, making the Career Longer, also it adds cars from NFS MW like Audi A3 and A4, Audi TT and Corvette C6.R. All the bonus cars, now have proper upgrading system just like all the other cars. Also the Mod features Extended Challenge Series events, which enhance the experience However Battle Royale is a beast on it's own, It takes round 5 hours to Complete Carbon, With Battle Royale, it takes 11 to 12 hours to finish the Career mod, and not even including the Extended Challenge Series. But then you can always try out to see which one you like best.

Really hoping you do Pro Street after Carbon. Easily my favorite NFS of all time.

So My Earilest Memory of playing the NFS MW was playing a Bootleg (Pirated Version) Back in 2006 on PC But that was without the Cutscenes. While I was enjoying the game, I wasn't getting the context. I progressed to Like Blacklist No 7 and somehow I needed to format the PC. I finally got the actual version and I was Like , what Are these amazing things? I missed out on so much Until then. The Ending was too fun and satisfying. Back in that I was a like 13-14 years. I have played all the NFS and Nothing could and will come closer to this. I am sure the remake of this will sell like a hotcake. It's not about just nostalgia . Games back then were really good, made with passion and new ideas while these days everyone is resorting to set cookie cutting formula! Imagine a Racing game with Full day night cycle, insane progressions like UG2/NFS MW with all their customization features, Great story and crazy online ( We had that though, NFS World munus the story)

The only thing I hated about this game was the required bounty milestones for each blacklist guy at the top. Cop chases were fun but trying to bump bounty by millions at a time was so annoying, low heat cops would just lose me instantly and high heat was so annoying to deal with. 2 of the times I attempted to complete the game back in the ps2 era, I got bored because of this and stopped playing.

I've sadly yet to play this game and REALLY want to. Opening skit made me chuckle, banger video

Gotta be brutally honest here… While I understand and - to a certain extent - respect *why* so many people see Most Wanted as the best of the Black Box-era NFS games…I personally just can’t find it in me to do the same. And it’s mostly due to the way the cops are handled in the game. From the devs thinking that “increasing the difficulty of police chases” means “spam the player with way more cops than they can reasonably be expected to handle”, to the fact that higher heat levels past level 3 do very little to keep the chases interesting beyond introducing Cross’s personal force (which is little more than a base performance boost for the regular cops), to the fact that the cops rarely show up during the actual races (and also don’t have much in the way of interaction with the player during said races)…for me, it all just kinda adds up to a game where I frequently have to stop doing the racing bits to focus on this one particular aspect of the game that I don’t even find particularly enjoyable, which makes the act of playing through the game way more of a sluggish chore than it should be.

On the subject of cops. NFS Payback have the best cops sequel you ever seen. Granted it only behind runner mission but there is mod to enable cops in free roam and that is a blast to play with.

Actors in MW cutscenes acted like it's a 5-star Hollywood movie. That speaks a lot of volume about what making a game was back then vs now. Recently, Gabe Newell in a new interview stated that: "... and you have these conversations where you be sitting in a design review and someone would say it's not realistic! OK... like... explain to me why is that interesting? Because in real world I've to write up lists of stuff I've to go to groceries store to buy, and I've never thought to myself that realism is FUN. I go play games to have FUN." There's a clip of AsmonGold reacting to that specific part of the video titled: Gaben proves once again why he's the GOAT. There is a lot more to that short clip, it's worth watching. - edit - I remember, back then, while playing NFS MW with my old brother we talked about the damage model and why they didn't implement that to MW? The answer we both agreed on was: "it would suck to play something like that... the fun about MW is we get to smash as many cops as we want, the only catch is we've to run... while having the damage model would reduce down the amount of fun you can get out of a chase, like in real life you configure all your mirrors in the car to avoid any damage to the paint-job, let alone the body of the car etc..."

The way I progressed when I got started with this game was by using all Blacklist members cars and upgrading them. Didn't have to buy any car at all and used Bull's Merc to beat Razor

Back in 2005, me and my friends motto were "If You don't pick Chevrolet Cobalt as a starter car, YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY MARKED TO BE BULLIED." 😂

So, a couple things about some points you made. The yeller filter, yeah, that was a thing that a majority of games had at the time. COD4 had it, for example. It was hard to find a game that DIDN'T have that filter during the mid 2000s. The cut customizations from UG2 to MW were no big deal to me, because stuff like hydraulics really didn't seem necessary to me, even as a kid at the age of 14 when this game came out. I see why you would look at it the way you do, though. Another great video as always

Ik people love pc but tbh I’m all for the thrill in searching and then being able to buy the game from someone or a place to take it right home and put it in the 360 sum about immediately being able to play a game as soon as you want no “downloads” no “updates” just me and the game

Vaulhaux Monaro/Pontiac GTO for some reason were extremely hard to control in both MW and Carbon, MW did let me remedy that with the tuning options and its surprising how much it changed the behavior of that car that I enjoyed driving it from there. But carbon? Your options are limited you can either have no grip, or have your car understeer itself into walls.

as much as i love the game there a couple of things i have a problem with, one being the rrepetitiveness, the game kinda drags out and it gets sort of boring at times, and second is heavy opponent ai, the AI is so heavy that if they break too early in front of you while you boost you lose speed because of them

Just golf , I remember that I was so excited to play this game for hours just to run away from the cops and not even knowing that I could do races because of how young I was but the fun and memories are craved in my heart for ever and uninstall the game a lot of times after my dad did some good progress :))) , great video wating on the next one

Ahh the king of racing games, such good memories. I actually never used the speedbreaker, always considered it cheating or smthng, and that made this already hard game 10x harder and even deleted the keybind to it, so I could never use it by accident

PC Beta Visual has better presentation then the final game heck even almostly close as the Xbox 360 version, no piss yellow filter and Grittier visual Tbh vanilla PC version is a barebone experience imo especially if you play on modern PC, it shows his age, you need to consider this mod if you want to play the better PC version experiences 1. Xbox 360 Stuff (porting almost of 360 Assets to PC) 2. Widescreen Fix (Mandatory for a modern PC to fix the resolution) + HUD Resizer (if you want your HUD position to match the xbox and Xbox 360 look alike 3. Beta Content Mod (Bring back almost of All removed Beta Stuff) 4. Xenon Effect (Porting a particle wind and scratch effects that exist on every console version but absence in PC version) 5. Beta Visual (Optional, if you want to experience a beta graphics)

I pre-ordered this game back in the days, the Black Edition for PS2 was almost $90 it is insane how much it cost me but it turns out to be my favorite NFS game indeed, it worth every peny.
