    13 months LOC'D this month. Haven't run into the dry loc issue yet. Still just use rose water, almond oil, and tea tree oil every morning. I also air dry my hair after I wash it every three to four weeks. I use extra dark Jamaican castor oil once a week. The air drying will probably change in the winter months. I can see getting a dryer of some kind.

    How long do you leave the clips in for? And does the flaxseed and chia seed gel cause build up? ❤️

  • @naturalbeauty0214

    @naturalbeauty0214

    4 жыл бұрын

    I leave the clips in about midway during drying time or until they start to burn my scalp from sitting under the dryer! The gel does not cause build up but it can flake on you depending on how long you boil the gel. You can add oil to help with flaking. I am really heavy handed with my products and probably 3 flakes on the outside of my locs after it dried.

    Do you think putting weave over locs is a bad thing? I watch Yannie the Locologist videos and she was informing that the weaves are heavier than the loc and that locs is already a protective style and it isn't advised to add a protective style over a "protective" style. I just want to do marley twists. Please tell me your thoughts.

    I don’t think it will harm your locs as long as they’re mature enough I did it quite a few times on my first set

    No lie the week after I wash my locs, my scalp is dry and has dandruff. I was wondering if you have any tips for that..? As a loose natural I washed my hair every week And my scalp was never dry. Would it be excessive to start washing my locs every week without Retwisting?

    A few weeks if you add a bit of vitamin E as a natural preservative. You can even freeze it until your next retwist but I prefer a fresh batch each time I use it. The same applies for both versions of this gel.

    I have about 27 less locs than my 1st set and I can tell the difference in the drying time. Its true, the thicker your locs, the longer it takes them to dry. How long does it take your locs to dry? Do you sit under dryer, blow dry or air dry?

  • @TFCFMINNISTRY12

    NaturalBeauty0214 your locs are lovely. The drying process is exactly why I did my locs small. I cotton shirt dry with a little blow drying, as blow drying defeats the entire process of moisturizing them initially. But I never put them in a ponytail or sleep on wet locs. Yes, retwisting or any manipulation on dry locs is dangerous. Yup it is chee - ya seeds.

    I do! I just have to get hubby on board with locking baby girl's hair. He wants her to be old enough to make that decision on her own. I feel like if she doesn't like them as she gets older, we can comb them out or grow her roots out and just cut them off. A debate we've been having since they were born lol to be continued...

    You’re not the only one. Dry locs come from not using enough hydration and moisture or from using the wrong type of products in your locs.
