    I have a one2 mini with cherry silvers (gaming) and a one2 tkl with silent reds (typing). I take really good care of them (cleaning them, lubed etc.) and really never minded that their not wireless or hot-swappable. I normally purchase these kinds of options with the switches I want so I don't have to spend extra money/time to change them out. Really never been disappointed by them ever. Super solid housing, minimal key-wobble, and good RGB (my one2 TKL has doubleshot pudding keys which look incredible at night). Bother were at or above $100, but imo, since they're such high-quality, super worth it.

Because I was considering getting that or the cosmic byte 18 firefly. Looking forward to it and hope your channel brings more people to appreciate keyboards Edit: Nvm I saw that you had modded the keyboard super cool btw. Agree. RK84 is imo the best keyboard quality/price and great compromise beetween 60% and TKL (75%), especially with brown switches, but is a matter of preference. Many people complained about the 2.4 GHz dongle regarding short range, but in mine there's no problem with that.

I'm stuck between the RK68, RK68 Plus (basically the LTC Nimbleback) and the RK84. They're all pretty much the same price where I live. i've (somehow) used a razer huntsman elite with linear optical switches for the last year. not only are the switches slippery, they're also rated at 45g actuation force and 1mm distance. the force from my resting fingers is at times enough to actuate keys, i have constant mispresses because they're so easy to press, and i also regularly have keys that stay triggered after the stroke is over. my typing has actually really suffered because this board is honestly really awkward and hard to use. that said.... i'm building my first keyboard tomorrow, a tofu65 with boba u4ts, tomorrow and am disgustingly excited ;-; EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    Razor, Engineers and Marketing guys in the planning of their keyboard: Engineers: "We found this wheel is nice option for our keyboard." Marketing guys: "Yeah, but no." Engineers: "No? Why not?" Marketing guys: "Too expensive. It's cost. 0.10 $ in production. Take this one." Engineers: "But it's so long... And so loud, too..." Marketing guys: "Yeah, and its cost us only 0.05$. We have to improve our development for the kings we have to deliver." Engineers: "But the customers don't want bad quality!" Marketing guys: "Aww, he's still thinking that the customers are the king. We don't work for the customers, cutie. They're only the cow we milking the money out. The share holders are true kings. So. And now, go! You have to make the shareholders be happy!"

    In all honesty, if that Ducky is merely outdated, I'll have no reservations over buying one. Great vid, great tips. It's nice to know that you can get decent keyboards at good prices if you just avoid the silly marketing hype of the big manufacturers.

    Yeah I bought mine like 2 years ago, and it's aged really well tbh. The stabilizers are fantastic, the keycaps are high quality and you can get Kailh Box switches with it (or Cherry and Gateron if you like) My only complaint is that it's not hotswap and the 60% layout isn't the way to go with all the 65% and 75% options out there.

    Yeah, I got an Anne Pro 2 some time last year with Box Whites. Can't really fault it for the price - even the software it comes with is solid. It just seems that there's a lot of hot-swappable competition these days around the same price. Not sure how it stacks up against the likes of the Royal Kludges around the same price.

    Actually these are the best mechanical keyboards for gaming, most of them are full sized or tkl so they have a dedicated f row, lack of lube makes the switch feel lighter, therefore easier to press. Just because a keyboard isn't made for enthusiasts doesn't mean it's bad, same with prebuilt computers. Just because something costs $300 more because someone already put it together for you doesn't make it a bad computer, harder to upgrade for sure but not teribble.

  • @WTFA54

    I think there's also just cheaper prebuilts that offer better value than a lot of these. It's not a question of "ooh look a these keyboard snobs looking down on gaming keyboards," but more "what is the value proposition for these keyboards from big name gaming companies?"

  • @WTFA54

    @WTFA54

    2 жыл бұрын

    I will say though that the big companies do have better firmware usually or at least more user-friendly firmware than cheaper keyboards. Also full sized or TKL layouts aren't necessarily better for gaming either? I've been seeing more people preferring smaller layouts to give themselves more mouse room. I guess it really just depends on the game, but for a lot of mouse and keyboard games I don't know if you need an F Row or a Nav cluster or a numpad. Just depends on the game and the use case

    Funny. Dedicated F row annoys me and for gaming, I want as much room for the mouse as possible, so a 60-65% keyboard is perfect. That's still a matter of preference. And I definitely don't want a very light switch to avoid accidental hits when holding finger on a key. The matter of fact is that many gaming companies make overpriced peripherals and they sell the brand marketing more so than the actual products.
