I find it's very fun to mess around with other instruments, even if I know I'll always come back to my trombone, and I imagine it would be fun to mess around on your buddy's trombone too, especially if youre good at euph.

Great concept. I'm a retired band director. In the early 2000's I promoted rentals mostly for the repair service provided. Also the quit factor. eBay and pawn shops were a problem. This program seems to be a real sweet spot. I also like the pBone for young starters to learn how to take care of the horn. This would be a great step up from a pBone. Keep up the great work.

2nd hand king 2/3B, or if your budget dosnt stretch that far a 606. The small conns are good too but the 4/6H dont seem to be as poppular but there are lots of conn directors. Maby ask your teacher to help you find one if you need help finding a good hooter as some might look like a good deal but of the slide aint good then its not worht it.

Might not be the best choose for you, but I found the Jupiter XO series to be awesome for me. I played a holton student trombone until ninth grade and felt that the adaptability and responsiveness was great for me. I have the 1032 model, and it feels great.

You could get a used trombone or an Allora Aere plastic trombone. Unless you get a steal on a nice used bone, I would get the plastic, it will at least keep it's charm over a crappy brass instrument. Crappy brass instruments are insufferable. Plastic instruments are always fun, if not the best.

I have a friend who plays this instrument. While the quality of sound is fine and the instrument works fine for the most part, the slide case is slightly too small for the slide and it gets stuck even with optimal greasing. The instrument is playable even with this flaw, and it is still the best option out there, I just think it should be noted that it doesn’t come without any downsides.

  • @classicaltrombone

This is a nice video. Too often many companies don’t invest much quality into their student horns. So their beginner lines are often of inconsistent quality. Holton in particular makes very bad quality beginner horns. They’re weak, brittle, sound bad, and easy fall apart. I had a Holton trombone, and it sounds terrible. Not to mention that the metal feels like aluminum. Ever since I got a Conn 88HO, I’ve never looked back!
