The roar from the crowd after every dart throw is just incredible, what truly epic sporting moment.

If you're an American who's never seen professional darts before, this is equivalent to two pitchers taking no-hitters into the 9th inning of a World Series game. Absolutely insane

Nearly a year since this happened and I have watched it 5 times already today. Watched unfold live on TV and still can’t believe what I saw. You got the feeling when MvG hit 177 something really special was about to happen. Referee’s call on that was memorable. Mardle’s commentary was epic. MvG is a generational talent but it was great to see MS win - good rugby league lad as well!

I’ve never seen a live 9 darter before. This was my first and what a way to pop my cherry lol.

It literally couldn’t be more perfect, it’s the world final, the two best in the world, both on 9s and Van Gerwen misses by half a finger nail only for Smith to nail it in front of a capacity crowd with some of the best sports commentary I’ve ever heard.

So proud to see this live on tv, who else? just imagine be in the crowd! unforgettable moment in darts history!! 🎯

Doesn’t matter how many time I watch this it’s absolutely unbelievable, you just can’t get a better leg than this.

Shows the value of great commentary. The perfect things said just at the right time. A truly iconic moment in darts I’m just glad I was watching it live. It’s still just as special watching it today for the 100th time as it was on the night

Simply unbelievable. And after all those years being 2nd, Smith really deserved to be world champion at last. A humble, likeable guy. Amazing leg, pure entertainment, well done for both Michaels!

@@Deluxe3001 you have to hit a treble odd number to get the 9 darter. Usually triple 19. Van gerwyn went for the triple 19 on the 6th dart and smith went for it on the 8th dart. It doesn’t matter the order it’s perfection. 17 perfect darts in one leg you can’t beat that.

The single greatest moment in darts. I am especially glad that MS won the match (and the world championship) so you can't even say it was "meaningless" with an MVG win. Sensational from both players. The first three sets in the match were of a standard unlikely ever to be seen again.

I could watch this a thousand times. In fact, I might.

Not just the greatest leg of darts ever, this is one of the greatest moments in sport ever. When the players, commentators and fans combine like that - AMAZING!

Pretty hard to explain to a non-darts fan, what the equivalent of this would be in any other sport. It’s that much of a lightning in a bottle, pure, golden moment

I learned what a "nine dart" was literally an hour ago, and I can already recognize that this is the greatest game ever played.

I must be on like my 50th time or maybe even more, i cant stop im addicted to this video. We r all lucky to have witnessed the best leg of darts ever in history. I only started watching last year and ive seen this. Imagine all those who have been watching for years and years and they see this, it must be absolutely beautiful.

I have watched this clip multiple times and everytime I watch it it gives me goosebumps. The crowds reaction to every dart was just exceptional.

Wayne Mardle's commentary is right up there with one of the best ever, just gets better each time you watch...

This was one of the best and craziest World Championship‘s ever. We had Clemens as the first german guy in semi finals, a perfect leg in the darts final which led to darts history , a new World Champion - and on top if this Gerwyn Price with his headphones. A World Championship we will always remember.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I watched this match together with my dad and the leg before this one I asked him "do you think they will throw a 9 darter?" and than this happened. Absolutely mindblowing.
