They really don't know what they're talking about. She like no specks it was made with extract not real beans or vanilla paste. They should have had smaller scoops in cups not cones compare chocolate maybe fruit favor. Yes most ice cream is creamy but varying amounts of butterfat create not only different flavor as well as textures especially 'mouth feel'. That Herrine eats at lots of great spots. I always wonder how much they actually eat they shared 8 scoops. KZreadrs that do those food and buffet 'reviews' are the funniest some don't know how to pronounce or never had their reviews are hilarious eventhough some have horrendous manners and eat this huge bites and consume mad plates of food. Its funny and sad

I guess you'd really only understand it if you've experienced or could detect a difference in the first place. Everything that melts does not do so at the same rate nor have the same textural consistency when it does. Like describing a wine as being jammy. "Well its made of grapes so duh" is a naive response if you think all wine tastes the same.

Was probably the best I’ve cream I’ve ever had. The crunchy chewy ness of the ooey gooey butter cake was so incredible, I remember it to this day - over two years later. Going to have to do another order soon, if only it wasn’t so expensive...

I'll answer as a cook in a restaurant: They use plenty of exotic ingredients and fresh fruit, and it takes more time to process fresh fruit (washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, making syrups and concentrats) than cream and chocolate. Time is money in the food business. Also, the fruit precentage in asian ice creams (and of course, sorbets) is very high, and low in sugar. Sugar is cheap, fruit are expensive. Also, it depends on the amount of ice cream they make. The bigger amounts an ice cream factory makes, the cheaper it will be. They make plenty of special flavors in small amounts - which, of course, bumps up the price. The overall cost of their process makes the plain ice creams, such as vanilla, more expensive.

There are all sorts of fantastical hard ice creams in this country, with delicious textures and thousands of flavors, but I maintain: when it comes to soft serve, nothing beats Carvel.
