Levain Bakery takes the crown for me, not only because their cookies are the best, but because they donate all the unsold cookies to people in need at the end of the day rather than throwing them away. I wish more businesses would help out those in need

Im from California. I dont know if this is true about all companies but at the time I worked for a grocery store and I worked in the deli. We marked all the salads and meats that we opened and if they did not sell by that date we threw them out. They are not bad at that time they just didnt look as nice. I asked why we threw them out instead of donating them. I was told they did at one time but they kept getting sued. It wasnt worth the hassle. If you recall there was an episode of Sienfeld where they were donating the muffin bottoms and the baker was sued too. It was a joke in the show but much their material came from real life.

The cookie shot was expensive in particular since the dough had to start in perfect squares, and hand stuffed in silicone molds. Of course it's going to cost more than the other cookies in this episode. It's much less efficient to prep each cookie.

EVERY time my dad goes to New York for work, he brings us back a box of levain cookies. He even found the recipe online and bakes them, and then my mom found frozen levain cookies so now we have them whenever we want!

Leaving, is definitely one of my fav cookies. I never went to the other, I will definitely try those. Insomnia cookies are good too. I usually get the smores cookie. It's a deluxe cookie so it's really big compared to the other cookies they have. Absolutely delishhh!!!

I love that the 3rd bakery donated what they didn’t sell at night! That’s an awesome idea, rather then just throwing away and wasting a perfectly good food item!

The best chocolate chip cookies so far, in my life, have existed in three places at different times in my life. In my early teens, I took swimming lessons here in L.A. and there was a Winchell's Donuts on the corner and they had a delicious chocolate chip cookie...omg... I miss it. Next, in my 20s, the local mall had a no-name cookie/cake shop and their cookies were very good as well. The third are my homemade chocolate chip cookies.... I get rave reviews every time I make them for the holidays.

I dig these ladies! Their love for cookies makes me smile. He world seems a little better after a good chocolate chip cookie.

Actually, studies have shown that cookies are 10x as addictive as cocaine. In addition, the sugar that we eat and put into products is heavily refined, just like cocaine from coca leaves. So sugar is a drug in my opinion.

Stephanie Santiago sure! The Leviathan bakery is definitely a great stop for giant, warm, delicious cookies. Another tip is that a lot of our litter corner bakery’s are pretty darn good. I’ll also recommend the New York folded ice cream, you can find some really good folded ice cream in china town. There are also really good Italian gelato places in little Italy, which is just a little west of China town. Honestly, there are a lot of things I could recommend but those are some of my favorite

THATS WHAT I THOUGHT

I used to live on the very same street as the original Levain bakery, like I could walk out of my apartment and in less than one minute I was there. And I went there WAAAAYYYYYY too much, lol. Hands down the best thick gooey chocolate chip cookie ever. The double chocolate one is exquisitely decadent as well. I would kinda go back and forth between which cookie I would get. It's also very hard to finish the whole cookie in one sitting because it's so thick and rich. Damon christopher I mean as long you cut down, exercise, watch your sugar, sodium, potassium, phosphorus level then you should be good. I go to the gym 4 times a week and whenever I eat junk food or unhealthy stuff I always work out

@Damon christopher Fast metabolism. Some people are blessed with it, and barely need to wotk out or eat healthy to stay skinny. My brother eats so much shit and garbage and stays at a consistent 120 pounds while I diet and go to the gym and weigh 130. It's weird but happens all the time, and as long as you just watch not to eat goo much. They taste test things, not eat as much as you think.

Dark chocolate chunks is the way to go when making these thanks for showing

Levain donating their leftovers is great

I just got Whispers in the Dark mv by MonstaX as an ad before this and I ofc watched it all and it was so good. One of my fav songs of theirs

I used to like one kind of sweet the most. I never used to be able to put that to words until a decade back I watched a chef say "Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside". Then I thought I was one of those rare guys who likes this. But later found that many liked sweets of that texture, although never discussed often.

Going by just visuals and ingredients I'd probably pick the Maman cookie too. It depends on the type of cookie you prefer, Maman is a crunchy on the outside chewier and softer on the inside and Levain is definitely a cake like texture cookie. I prefer Mamans texture and flavor profile in general.

I agree. I've made both kinds of chocolate chip cookies for my family using recipes from Joshua Weissman and Anna Olson. My whole family said that they preferred the crispy-on-the-outside-soft-in-the-inside cookies. They said the Levain kind didn't feel like a real cookie, but more like a small piece of cake!

Absolutely agree. The Levain cookie looks more like a meal rather than dessert. I'd probably be so full after eating just one, that I wouldn't want to even look at another cookie for the rest of the day!

I tried the levain cookie and it was kinda underwhelming, it didnt have enough salt and I tried really hard to find flavor or something, it was all just very uniform the Maman one looks insane I really wana try it, its good theyre using a special kind of salt and different nuts bc atleast it seems itll have different flavors that balance out well but not a uniform cookie.

these yummy food keeps showig up in my recomendacion

alana and herrine are absolutely stunning !!!

rather than milk in the cookie cup, i'd rather have ice cream.

I used to live in NYC, and I can't recommend Levain Bakery cookies enough. They are legit the best cookies I've ever tasted. They're on a different level. I've never had another cookie that tastes anywhere near as good as those. If you're ever in Manhattan, check them out! It's something special.

of course I end up watching these videos when fasting
