We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

So I just cooked this over the weekend. Straight from the video no measuring. About half way I swear I was doomed then it all started to come together. The breading like Sam said is perfection. Same goes for the sauce. The oil started to smoke up the kitchen and had to open windows but when they started frying it was just right. My wife could not stop complimenting the flavor. When I told her I got this from my new guy she said oh that guy who curses. He doesn't curse that much. Maybe a little. Anyway do this!

Big favor to ask....I went about 100 comments down and still haven't seen anyone post a guestimate of the garlic aioli sauce recipe. What would you guess are the proportions? Just eyeballing it (guessing here) roughly: mayo: 1/2 cup, garlic: 1 clove, s&p: 1 tsp, avocado oil: 1 TBsp, parsley: 1/4 cup, and the lemon juice (1/2 squeezed). Thanks.

My favorite too Sam. I order two of them when I go, one with cheese and one without, then ditch the bottom buns. I sandwich them together to create a double fish, double sauce, single cheese fish sandwich out of them. Pair that with a small order of fries, and that is my absolute favorite McDonalds item! I'm definitely going to try your recipe, thanks!

BRILLIANT. I used to like the McDonald's version, maybe once a year. Good, not great. Your version looked so good I actually set out to make it. This is an absolutely great idea, a hamburger for people who like fish just as much as red meat. Tremendous idea to kick it up a few notches, above and beyond the McDonald's head start. So I just made it. Like everyone else, made a few tweaks. Used fresh cod, thin part of the filet that I always have trouble figuring out what I can do with. Man does not live by fish & chips alone. Instead of flour I used Cajun seasoning, ground pretty fine. Also added a few things to the Panko before blending. Screwed a little with the aïoli, too. All in all, an absolute winner. Really tremendous idea! Thanx!

Hi Sam, Love your show! I used to work at a Norwegian Mc.Donalds, and as you can guess - we made a whole lot of filet-o-fish. The bun is steamed (in a steam toaster) for the Filet-o-fish

I heard once that McDonald's uses a 1/2 slice of American Cheese because in taste testing a full slice overpowered the mild flavor of the fish. It wasn't an economic decision, but one based on taste. Now, if they hadn't gotten rid of the classic orange drink! Every time I got a Filet, I got a small fry and orange drink. Classic.

Sam! I share your love for the Filet O'Fish. My go to McD's meal is a Filet, Big Mac and a Coke. But the Filet is my favorite. Loved this video, and you highlighted my biggest complaint with the filet. It is the sandwich made with the least love. A part of a slice of cheese, never centered, and the fish is never as well. The tartar sauce as well. Once. Once, in a McD's in the Chicago airport watch my filet made with kove, perfectly centered, etc. Then dude tossed it on the chute and flipped it over. When I got it, it was fucked up like every other one I have had. Still love them!

I make a big batch with cod or salmon snd it’s gone with two or three days. We all devour it it’s so good 😋 My wife really like the garlic aioli sauce, she can’t get a ought of it. As a matter of fact I just made a big batch of the stuff snd out it in the refrigerator. Let me tell you, the secret to that is lots of lemon, and more garlic, omg!!!😱💥🔥💥👍🏽anyways, this video is gold and I’ll will be making these a lot, thanks!👊🏽✊🏽

Great recipe and guidance. My only thought for improvement is that pan-frying the fish, as opposed to deep-frying, inevitably leads to a soggier and more oily crust. You can see the oil absorbing into the crust on the top of the fish, because no barrier has had a chance to form -- whereas with deep-frying at proper temperature (~375 degrees F), the hot oil would form a crust around the entire piece of fish, preventing additional oil from being absorbed into the coating.
