    It looks like Foghashing have cornered the market with the ease of install. This looks like a brilliant design. If the electricity rate wasn't so ludicrous here, I'd so be copying you and installing a Foghashing C6 here. It actually looks like fun to install these. Thanks to the Voskcoin team for another great video.

    @VoskCoin I just recently got my first few ASICs and was wondering. Am I supposed to power them off once and a while to give them a break and not overheat the motherboard? I've only had the nodes a few days and the average heat is like 36 degrees C. I assume that's a fairly cool temp comparative to max heat on most desktops and such. Just not sure if supposed to do like a day off each month or somthing.

    Those machines can run 24/7. Just makes sure the temps are OK. 36c full load is actually amazing. Most mining rigs are comfortable even at 70-75c I wouldn't go past 80c if possible

    Some questions: Do you remove PSU fans when dunking? Im asking because I have seeming burned out 3 PSU's without the fans installed. Can you tell me what cleaning solution you use when removing a rig from C6 tank? Also, on the Dry cooler, the mister has a very odd sized connector which I can't seem to find. Do you have a source to convert that connector to a Garden hose or some other standard US connection? Last issue im seeing is that after a power failure, the mining rigs automatically restart, but the C6 pump does not, meaning the rigs immediately overheat. Im looking for a solution to that issue.

    Get/build a 240v ups for the tank only. You can plug the drycooler into the outlet direct. My c6 draws about 1.2kw continuous so a ups for that should be too excessive.

  • @jordandupont8192
    @jordandupont8192Күн бұрын

    If you have to wire the dry cooler power separately I am assuming the pump in the tank is also on that same line? If so - when you remote power cycle the PDU does the dry cooler simply stay on? Can you power cycle the rump and dry cooler another way? Are there syncing issues between the PDU and the dry cooler on remote cycling? Lastly is the plug for the dry cooler the same as the PDU?

  • @VoskCoin

    @VoskCoin

    Күн бұрын

    You could run a splitter power cable out of the PDU to power the other units and effectively have them on one circuit - but as I have it wired, 6 miners on the PDU, 1 circuit, and then another circuit powers the dry cooler pump and dry cooler. The d try cooler and pump always running is fine, the only worry is the dry cooler / pump being off for some reason, and then the miners keep running and over heat until they trip the entire circuit or damage themselves.

  • @VoskCoin

    @VoskCoin

    Күн бұрын

    So you plug a power cable (c13) into the c6 enclosure to power the pump - the dry cooler has a c14 connection, that you plug into something, to power it

    Wouldn't it be sweet to lose the dry coolers for underground geo thermal cooling. I am working with fog hashing to calculate loop linear footage of polyethylene pipe 5 feet underground per unit based on NY 52 degrees farenheiht all year long. Blowing 95-degree air on 140 degree oil seems super inefficient. alphapex was promoting their soon to come water cooled units at mining disrupt.

    We tried to but weren’t happy with the pressure and weight the miner was putting on the cables. I think it’s doable if we installed offsets on the machines. The purpose is to have the liquid flowing the same way the air would in air-cooled setups.

    you should shorten the fluid tubes as much as possible and/or pull them outside and wrap them with insulation, the black color is going to absorb alot of heat from the sun and you will lose efficiency.

  • @jamesch7428

    @jamesch7428

    The fluid tubes come preassembled with some really nice fittings on the end. Shortening them would need new ends or some sort of slice kit. Not really worth the risk of leaks.

    Immersion mining breaks the chain. Disintegrating electronics, then used machines cannot be sold. The destiny of mining machines is for electric heaters. But immersion is bad, because it stops there. So it breaks the chain, and shortens the job creation.
