The Mirror Universe Shuttle pets are also unlocked with the Terran Lexington Dreadnought. So if you don't want to spend the money for the 12th Anniversary bundle (it is quite expensive), just buying the Lexington individually will be the cheapest way to get access to those pets.

As an FYI to everyone, you don't really need to craft the consoles, you can just buy them on the exchange. They are only a few mil each for these ones. If you do craft them, ONLY craft them at tier 2, because it's far cheaper to upgrade to T15 than it is to craft a max rank console. To fully max out DPS with carrier pets, you will want to have a miracle worker ship (Or at least one that has 5 engie slots for a total of 7 slots with t6x2) so you can fill those slots with the hangar craft advanced engie consoles. You will also want to run the swarmer matrix and hydra consoles. The borg assimilator console provides increased pet crit chance, but i'm not really convinced it's 100% worth it overall. If you can't get your hands on the assimilator console, it's probably not the biggest deal in the world. The swarmer matrix is easy enough to get and the hydra console is from the Cstore hydra ship, which trait is also a must have for hangar pet DPS. Outside of this, the SAD trait is probably the most dps increasing trait in the entire game overall. It's from the mirror engle, which can be found in the 12th? anniversary bundle, as well as a lockbox I believe. Scramble fighters is super nice, but kind of expensive from the exchange. There's a bunch of other things to get, but overall, here's the easiest thing to do and the cheapest. Get a carrier with as many engie slots as possible (and a MW ship if possible), get the hydra ship (as it's amazing), the swarmer matrix, and load up the ship with those hangar craft consoles as much as you can. The flight deck assault carriers (The Tellarite Pralim, the Orion Blackguard, and the Sulliban Silick) are fantastic starting points. These all have 2 hangar bays, a 5/3 weapons layout, and 5 engie console slots at the BASE level. If you stick with them, and eventually upgrade the fleet versions to T6-X2, they will have 7 total console slots to throw in the hangar craft consoles in, which is where the bulk of your DPS boost for your hangar pets is going to come from. There's nothing wrong with these ships, and if you want to stick with them, great!

I got my Valkis tx2 and with everything but SAD trait and Scramble fighters, equipped with romulan drone ships… they vaporize most things pretty quickly.

@@devlinmcbane7255 Drone ships have always been a solid choice, and that was before the hangar craft consoles. The issue is, the vast majority of ships can't use the drone ships. Thankfully, the Valkyries are much more universal, and prove to be an absurdly powerful choice.

I use Elite Aeon Timeships on my Ghemor FDC Surgical Strikes build. I'm not sure if something else would work better in that particular build but I do have the Dominion Coordination starship trait and Wingman personal space trait on to give them a little boost, as well as the 3-piece Dominion Console set which lets me buff them temporarily with the Fleet Manuever Gamma ability. They do die often so of course I've got 3 hangar cooldown flight deck officers on active duty officer roster. I didn't build around them much given the rest of the build is focused into making the most of SS3 and OSS3 via Isomags but I run Numerical Superiority since it's almost guaranteed most things I'm shooting at, they'll also be shooting at.

The Valkyrie is the same fighter from Worf's USS Typhoon from Star Trek Invasion from PS1

A per Pottsey's intensive testing, rom drones have the highest dps ceiling if you want to push pets exclusively; their best platform is the Valkis (which can use them since a few months ago). This alone ofc doesn't make them best in slot for general dps pushing, so consider this a side note.

If I have hangars and run SAD, I normally run a fighter that has a beam, a cannon and a torp. Using both SAD and ETM, the pets get double buffed in FAW and CSV. I don't know if it's smart or not, but it's what I've been doing for some time now. The ETM is there, because I am going to run both a FAW and CSV boff to trigger x2SAD Firing Modes, so I just build around ETM.

I am still rocking Lost Souls of Grethor on my main carrier. Flight Deck doffs + maxed aux power + scramble fighters = insta launch and insta cooldown hangars and loads of stacks of Scramble Fighters buffing their damage and making them invulnerable over and over :D

I can also recommend the obelisk 3 piece set in pair with the voth rampart trait and SAD, deal pretty good dmg

I am all about looks in this game, even to the detriment of practicality. XD

I really like the stringers. They have pulse cannons and beam arrays. So they do both FAW and csv

Good Video, I tend to get all my pet info from an old reddit post where someone compares them all. I really wish I was able to get a Jarok for the valk pets, I've been stuck with the scorpions for ages

The Jarok comes with the Alliance Fighters, not the Valkyries. The Valkyries come off the Valdres Command Strike Wing Escort.

Now we need a Flight Deck Specialization tree.

I have still yet to do a carrier. I really like the idea of it but im just not sure where to start. When i started the game a few years ago(started back after like 10 year) I got a free event carrier and that thing was great for a newbie. But its the only one i have really. Leaning towards the Silik like you said but also that cardassian one seems useful. Or maybe i get the ship with SAD first. I only allow myself one ship every great now and then.

I haven’t fished around but I’ve been using the disco drones

I use the aeon to do tour the ship of course hope you are feeling better

why is mirror shuttlecraft better than the normal shuttlecraft that you get from the buran? they have the same weapons and also have beam overload

That's correct, but if you're doing a carrier build, the hangar craft really should take precedence.

Elite Mirror Shuttles are good but they are nowhere near the strongest none SAD pets. Droneships being the strongest pet in game will massively beat them and you should never use SAD with droneships as SAD lowers damage in that case. Elite Lost Souls are in the top 3 for damage even without SAD they beat most SAD pets. Pretty sure all 4 type of Supports Frigates also beat Mirror Shuttles at least if you use the wingmate trait. Without Wingmate trait support frigate are around the same level of Mirror shuttles. Elite Class C or Class F Shuttlecraft are alternatives to Mirror shuttles all 3 are effectively the same bar one minor bridge officer pet power. Elite Scorpion Fighters/Squadrons are great as they benefit from some torpedo traits and some consoles like Torment Engine and Pre-Fire torp trait unlike other pets. So when you fully stack into torpedo buffs Scorpions are a top pet to use.

I wish I held off on buying the Elite Tactical fighters for my DSC MW D7. I may end up grabbing the blue rarity To'Duj fighter squadrons instead.

I got the Caitian carrier, so trying to learn how to use fighters and frigates.

Not that hard. Mostly have them attack your target and place the hangar bays on auto-launch by right clicking on them so the icons have a green border.

@@AugmentedDictatorGames Working on that, the Caitian carrier comes with a stalker fighter squadron and a support frigate, so far in small battles they have done quite well. Are the D store Very Rare versions worth it? Adv Caitian Support Frigate and Adv Stalker Fighter Squadron? Looking at them on the D store they appear to have quite some skills.

@@LoneTiger With the Wingmate trait Support Frigates are almost the strongest none SAD pet in game only beaten by Droneships the strongest pet in game and Xindi Frigates. Never use Adv pets always stick to Rare or Elite. Adv pets are a resource trap just skip them and go straight to Elite. Elite Fighter Squadrons are among the top DPS pets in game but are limited to Caitain Carriers so we don't see them to often. Stalkers scale very in terms of damage with SAD.

I have a question: If pulse cannons are what makes the to'duj pet the better option, is the advanced version of the to'duj fighter better than the standard version? Because it still has the pulse cannon but also has dual disruptor cannons and the quantum torps upgrade.

There are less pulse cannons on the upgraded versions so the advanced and elite get less benefit from the SAD trait.

They're #1 pretty much. They don't do a super amount of damage themselves but they boost your ship damage by a lot.

Don't the command specialist debuffs work for hangar pets too? Basically land a crit and it debuffs the enemy with a -25 dmg resistance And if you keep going on the traits it has for space it also adds on crit also -20/-40 dmg output?

I'm kinda thinking of making a antiproton elite swarmer build use the jem'hadar support carrier. I have command specialist but I also have the space trait "feel the weight of our presence" that debuffs with the more allies I have. For the build on my ship however I was thinking the matter conversion anti proton beam or whatever it's called that debuffs enemy resistance to antiproton (2.5% chance) - 10% resistance that can stack 5x and it's doubled for antiproton dmg. Then the ba'ul lobi set, console included which one voth beam array for debuffs dmg output - 10% stack 3x. I also have the entire assimilated set on the carrier too for some protection but mostly because I like borg stuff.

No the crit debuff only works for you, not hangar pets. Like I said, kinda annoyed that the command specialization has 0 pet specific abilities on it.

Are the terran Valkyrie's the same as the standard?

So is the takeaway from this that without Superior Area Denial, you are not competing in higher end dps with carrier pets? Additionally, where do the type 7 shuttles rank?

It frustrates me that there's so many unique pets locked behind single ship classes, while others for no apparent reason have absolutely no restrictions at all. My Qin flight deck raptor can launch Shuk-din frigates almost as big as itself, but can't launch Kelvin Drones? The Assimilator can handle Collector Frigates, but not a B'rel? The Xindi-Insectoid fighters, one of the coolest models in the game, can only be used by Xindi ships... why? Heck, even the new Assimilator Probes can be used in any hangar bay on any ship regardless of size. It's all over the place. I'd love to be able to use the Krenim Raiders, the Elachi Frigates, or the Temporal Fighters on more things than just the sole ship in the game they come with. There's so much potential for fun with them cut off because of the arbitrary restrictions. Stingers for life, though.

Haha, that's funny. Used to have an animation that caused the larger pets to warp in like a support distress call instead but that must have been removed for some reason.

i built a elite hangar fighter device, you can only get the elite fighters from level 5 starbase right? the tholian mesh weavers arent restricted like that

You can beam onto a level 5 starbase as a guest without joining a fleet. Then buy the Elite pets that way.

bugged or unfinished. Full tooltip say they're supposed to have *multiple* arrays, but are seemingly only firing one array at a time and pulling in *low* DPS.

They are ok I get decent dps from Elite ones but its hard to get them to high damage unless the runs have a lot of trash pets for them to buff off.

The Alliance fighter squadrons don't even make it into honorable mentions? I thought they were supposed to be hot stuff. They must not be as great as I thought...

Those are more support pets then pure damage. One of the top 3 support pets for teams. There damage is good but not in the top range.

Squadrons also tend to suffer in some things due to the entity limit issues that carriers can hit...and it tends to eat the most leveled up ones first.

Thank you for asking about the Alliance Fighter Squad. They are excellent because they buff your ship's damage with FO3. They don't do much damage on their own, but they make you do more damage. I'm surprised they weren't on this list too and I found your comment from searching "alliance". I think they didn't make this list because of it being pet damage by itself, not usefulness to you.

Dark horse pet trait is voth carrier synergies because: using any tac boff power gives the pets aceton mode, means they degrade the targets defense and offense as a apassive. It alsomgives on any usenof any engineer boff: IMMUNITY. Both effects are 15 sec duration and you r pets need to be withing 10 km of you to receive them but ubiillable pets are brutal.

Alliance have never been top end pets in terms of damage. They are strong pets that are more for team support.

@@dragonscoils8149 It's not the weapons that are the issue, it's the abilities The Callisto can use Lock Trajectory, and they were never programmed to use them well, so they are always sliding out of weapons range

@@sterio2235 It lowers their dps but not any lower than any other typical pet. The point is they are 76K hull each and with wing commander they rank up to 5 quickly and don't die and get reset. CSV III and Torp Spread III attached to 2X quantum torp launchers and a quad phaser cannon is nothing to sneeze at when they ARE on target.

A few of the Terran C-Store ships with hangar bays come equipped with baseline Valkyrie squadrons. I think the Fleet Norway also got Valkyrie squadrons as pets which unlocks the option to purchase the upgraded versions.
