Your video was very good. But is there a real way to change an entire street name or add a residential house nr so it really sticks and does not stay in a pending suggestion state? Are there alternative ways to achieve something like that? Asking because here in Estonia some areas that are so called old Summer house residential areas, that now are converting to year round living areas. And Google has not mapped and tagged everything quite as it should have done. If this is something you are intrigued to look into, let me know. Or it can be addressed in a future tips video as well. I'm really interested in that topic because I love to learn about Google Business Profiles and Google Maps in an in depth way :)

The most nightmarish driving experience of my life came after I apparently, inadvertently, touched the 'avoid expressways, interstates' thing. While trying to navigate ON the freeway around Atlanta 🤐. As it was getting dark. Ended up on some God forsaken 2lane mountain road. They need to make settings changes MUCH harder to do...such as asking twice for permission changes.

Great review of Google Maps as we have come to expect. One question, however, can one retrospectively retrieve, archive and send an entire route captured on Google Maps retrospectively (in case one wants to repeat the route at sometime in the future?

Hi Tasia, I travel in a Ram Promaster Hightop Cargo Van. It also has a fan on the roof. Traveling in Las Vegas getting directions from Siri or Google it took me to the airport where the height restriction was I think 9 feet. I had to back up from a lot of traffic. Not a fun experience. Is there something on google maps to specify your vehicle's height restrictions so it will not give you the direction that way? Thank you for your videos

Hi just wondering, is there a way to set your own route on google maps? And then maybe set a vacation using google maps to help measure mileage for my special routes?

Most of the time when I use Google maps it's to see a location somewhere around the area I live in southern California. But whenever I open Maps, it shows Atlanta - I have no clue why and I always have to scroll to my area. Do you know of a way to set the default so it opens to my area?

Tasia, Recently my phone has stopped giving me verbal directions for my trips. The route is shown but there is no voice. Sometimes the voice will be heard when the route is set but, when the trip is started there will not be any verbal directions. What I and many people over the age of 40 would love to know: - how can we improve the contrast? Light gray streets in a white background can be impossible to make out - how can we increase the size of street names? When you zoom in to read, the name snaps back to its tiny size.

Tasia- Can you please know solution on the headache issue- When i made custom route on PC and send this route to my phone (doesnt even matter did i send it with message or to my gmail) then after opening the link on my phone the route is NOT the same as the one what i made on PC. How can Google Map tell me I have made a bad turn instead rerouting me into sometimes a large jour long circle? Happens too often. Also, when was the last time Google Map did an update of the roads in Ikaria Greece? Many new roads missing and sent instead on very difficult dirt roads?

Alas no 3 dot icon is displayed on mine after entering an address. The start button also has disappeared. I thought possibly my location services was accidently shut off but it on. Am I the only one with this issue? Did Google do a bad update?

I do not know about other features but driving mode voice assistant of Google maps should not be used because it breaks concentration thereby causing accidents sometimes, consumes more data and unnecessary feature in general because at the turns and divisions one can slow down and just check the map. So I stopped using it and so should you all to stop getting bored and irritated, running into troubles and getting disturbed by sudden unwanted voices in between the drive constantly. It's actually a waste of some additional data and behaving little machinistic for sometime without any reason to get bored and also meet with an accident.

Tasia, is it possible to use Google Maps without a destination? I explore a much of my area looking for various places to visit at a later date. Being able to drive without a destination and know which road I'm on and the speed limit would be helpful.

1 Long press on the map app. 2 Press the 4 grey square in the top (Maps Widgets). 3 Press and hold "Drive mode", move it to the home screen

I turned off "most fuel efficient routes" I so hope this will prevent Google maps from forcing me to meander through neighborhoods.. instead of taking me on the main route when I'm in a place where I'm not familiar

Maybe YOU can help?! WHY is Google Maps no longer rendering readable distance numbers on it's measuring tool? The numbers on the markers are so small they cannot be read, even after zooming in. What is going on? Do any of you folks know?

How do we Re-center a long distance route while in progress to a desired level of detail instead of it (google maps) auto zooming to its own desired level of detail. Zooming in and out while driving is not the way to go. Sorry Google Map's programmers, this is a major "thumbs down" for you guys. The following additional buttons would be nice while a route is in progress such as Re-center 75%, Re-center 50%, Re-center 25% (% being zoom level).

I know that is annoying. I recently discovered that double tap with one finger & drag down (for zoom-in)/ up (for zoom-out) practice a few times to get a knack of it!

With the Russia/Ukraine conflict I want to view countries on a map app. Google Earth and Apple Maps are terrible at this. Can anyone help?

What is it with women on KZread or TikTok having to use their fingers when doing a countdown of any sort. When you say 3 or 4 for example, we can hear you just fine. It's not such a huge number that we'll be confused unless you also hold up your fingers. There's no added information by using your fingers.

The best would allow me to control what Google shoves in my face. I really don't need a popup showing my what business is at that location, That is what street view is for. I want to see the map not some morons idea of what THEY WANT TO SEE.. MapQuest is better.
