The Best Gold Prospecting App To Date!! CalTopo!!
CalTopo is the new King in town when it comes to an app for gold prospecting and metal detecting!! It has dethroned TouchGIS in my book. CalTopo's best feature is integrated LiDAR (called Shaded Relief) along with a large number of useful base maps and overlays. The free base version of CalTopo is very powerful but if you want additional features the various paid levels of the app are all reasonably priced compared to similar apps like TouchGIS.

With it you can begin to make your own gold map that will help you find more gold!

Thanks!
Awesome.
There’s one area near me, in probably one of the most researched volcanic ranges in the world, with multiple geothermal surveys and multiple geothermal drill holes, it’s a brecciated, mineralized intersection of two well researched faults and the ONLY area that doesn’t have LiDAR is the area that has good gold values reported. Hmmm….

It will eventually have Lidar data.
I was on the usgs site and wasn't able to find Lidar for Dahlonega area. Further north there are Lidar. Surprising. I find it hard to believe that with all the gold found there, there has to be a bunch more somewhere up there.

CalTopo has good coverage of that whole area and last I looked on the USGS The National Map site the entire Dahlonega area has coverage for the 1 m LiDAR.

@@theprospectinggeologist4347 Installed the Caltopo. Still watching your video to learn it. It's odd that website only showed area above it. I love scavenging. Even if I don't find anything, it's more for the hunt experience.
You may want to go into settings and set your saved maps to private. I've been playing around with this app and have found other people's maps with there hiking trails and measuring lines.

It would be random chance to punch in the correct code to access other maps. But yes it is possible.
👍
No big deal the first one is a slap-on-the-wrist any way legally..in which I'm giving the name of your page along my defense 😮🤪 good job bro👍
