I can't begin to tell you how awesome this car was and I really enjoyed modifying & working on it..... It took a beating & handled it well. The availability & great price of parts is a plus, there is good supply here in Australia & the fact that many parts are shared with VRX & River Hobby made it so easy. I had never even heard of FTX before subbing you guys. Now I’m intrigued. I have a pretty long queue of “RCs I just must have” and I’ll add an FTX and kick a few behind it down the list a notch or two. Good job guys.

I love my ftx vantage brushless. Done a few upgrades. Next on the list is the spur gear . I also have the brushless tracer aswell . That takes an absolute beating and keeps going

At 61 years old I started in rc I may last year.A couple of cheap wpl trucks was the start point but in October I decided I needed something a bit bigger and faster.I did a bit of research and decided for a no of reasons to get a bugsta.I was over the moon with it,tho I still can t drive it properly yet😂😂😂this was quickly followed by the outlaw and I ve just recieved my Kanyon.Next up will either be the Ravine or the outback high rock.all came from motorsport. I m no expert,far from it and I ve nothing to compare against,but in my opinion these models offer superb value for money for new starters. Fantastic video and was really pleased that you were so positive about FTX. Thanks Paul👍😀

What I love about RC is it is accessible to all. Glad you found the hobby. It is a little addictive though ... but FTX does make it easier to get a hit.

Good review of the FTX cars sir. I do own the DR8 as you know but I also have a Ravine which doesn't get out often enough. I have fitted a Deans plug on the Ravine and run it on 2s and as of yet I haven't managed to drain a 2s lipo yet. I have been toying with adding a Vantage brushless to my collection ever since I started back in the RC hobby but ended up with a BSD Flux then some Traxxas and Arrma models and sadly never went back to the FTX Vantage.

The FTX Outback 2 was the first hobby grade crawler that I owned. It's not a bad little trail/crawler truck,though not quite as capable as the Ravine. As far as beasts go,the Kanyon is in a league of it's own.

The tyre rubber on the stock wheel is quite hard so might need to think of alternatives for future runs

I'm thinking about getting the dr8 i have already got the mauler and the zorro with a brushless set up which is really good fun and the ftx mini 2.0..

The DR8 is a great car Paul, a total beast on a 6s👍

Got my lad a ftx tracer and was amazed how good it was……. Got a little jealous it could a whole heap more than my stock tamiya tt01 and ended up buying a brushless zorro 😮😮😮😮such a great car and for £235 can’t go wrong as comes with everything including a 2s lipo Love it so far

Your vids are great very useful info, you had the Zorro as one of your favourites but no mention of the Outlaw i only ask your opinion of the Outlaw as it the same platform? Ty in advance.

Outlaw and Zorro are the same chassis so not a lot between them … I have a thing for SCT so that is what I went for the Zorro .. the newer brushless Zorro is even better … great platform and with the upgrades it is really good

I own the FTX Bugsta brushless. It's a nice blast about car straight out the box....but....be warned it has an horrendous design fault on the front end. The bumper has zero flex and is attached directly to the chassis by two screws which have no reinforcement around them. If you hit anything head on with any degree of force it breaks the bumper off and tears the chassis (exactly what happened in this video). I did mine twice after just 3 runs. The design is horrendous and weak. I've now drilled my chassis and screwed an aluminium plate over the bottom to try reinforce it. Don't know how long it will last and it makes me nervous to just rip around in case it happens again. New chassis is cheap enough at $15 but it's a big job stripping and rebuilding it. Shame because everything else about the car is solid and well thought out.

I believe there is a upgraded chassis which could solve the problem but it’s not as cheap as the stock one ..

I have a Ravine too. Love it. Cheap, capable MOA crawler. Can we have an FTX shout out for the Outback 2 - the 1/10th? 1/12th? Land Rover Defender trail truck? I have one of these and it's a great entry trail truck for the money - capable too. However, I do need the baby 1/24 Landy! (RGT Adventurer 2 by another name). Another shout out to the FTX Outlaw based around an Ultra 4 truck. Available in brushed or brushless. My son has the brushed version and it's a good basher for him. It's big, bulky and 4WD too. He's in his 20's and on the autistic spectrum, but he's pretty good at driving it around, not the fastest, but fast enough to be fun! Cheers!

There probably one of the best for the money. I have mine sitting with a jeep comanche half body on.

I can't make my mind up what to buy. Looking at the Torro, Carnage, Bugsta or Outlaw as a first "proper" basher for the kids.

My Torro has probably taken more abuse than the bugsta to date .. as brushed cars they take the abuse

Tho ftx outback is the same chassis as the Torro so should be easy to convert

for crawling i have a traxxas trx4 defender with many upgrades and then just for thrashing about i also have a ftx zorro brushless and a 1/8th absima mamba i have upgraded the ftx with many metal parts added a little light bar had one big dink with it where it rounded off the hex on the inside of the wheeles and ripped the spare wheele mount off must of got a friday made mamba as it came with a faulty part but modelsport have been spot on so i have not realy run it yet but so far the zorro is winning for the best truck plus all three are running a flysky pro radio system and had no problem with reception

Wot? No nitros? My FTX Zorro nitro is loads of fun weve clocked it at 48 mph , the tank is a little small at 75ml but an upgrade to 125 ml is on the way. its my first nitro and ive only had it two weeks and Ive bought a used Thundertiger ST1 to keep it company with a roto start, we have electrics to but I find it much easier than waiting for batteries to charge to quickly add some fuel prime and start an engine than phaff about with electrics.

Nice video,,my brushless torro servo has gone due me f@#king around with it just fitting lights to outlaw but broke front bumper AGAIN lol same root stub aswell must clear leaves ,,I have 200ft garden that is kind of woodland kind of state have little track,,so many possibilities in my garden,,,,so have nowhere to put lights,,I also have a fs racing marauder,,waiting to get pinion gear,,3 cars, 200ft garden, can't use, I have rc blues,,,lol 😦😅🤣

The DR8 is 3x the price and is a bigger and has brushless motor therefore it is easily the quickest

Bugsta looks cool and once I had tweaked the set up it drives really well... but I have used the Zorro much more and enjoy running the SCT style of Truck.
