Thank Dennis, I easily put +100 hours of work into the evaluation. It was so hard to narrow it down to just 5. Tight lines!

You want the most contrast while still keeping a full spectrum of colors. Maui jim does the absolute best at this with their polarized plus technology. The entire colors spectrum is just enhanced. Any and everything with colors just pops, while staying that same color. Their glare reduction is top of the list as well. Smiths chromopop does a good job at boosting colors however it really only seems to boost the base colors of red, blue, yellow. When the colors mix to make say green or purple then the colors loose a little saturation. Bajios appear to use more of the costa mind set with a heavy colored base lens with a mirrored finish. They do allow more colors in than the costas however the heavy colored base lens is more restrictive on the color spectrum of light allowed through the lens than the prior two which run more neutral base lenses. Costas green lenses block ALOT of the color spectrum making it hard to look into shadows and differentiate between shades of green.

All sunglasses are absolutely great!! Even the new replacement lenses like revant are amazing! You just need to choose the right lense tint for the type of fishing you do!

Polarization and UV protection are a must. You're exactly right about the lens color. Tight lines!

Got some rap around polarized amber lens ones from Walmart a couple of years ago ($15)...still use them. They work just fine.

For the Guide's Choice - Glass Lens Bronze For Local Kines - Bronze For me the Bronze and Copper lenses provide the best contrast without being to dark. Most of my fishing is early and later in the day when the sun is at a lower level. Meaning lots of glare off the water.

Anything on the waterland co glasses?

😎 I've requested a set of Ray Bans with Chromance, but never heard anything back from Ray Ban.

If you cannot tell the difference between Vuarnet, Costa, Smith, Revo, etc and Walmart cheapos then don’t have the best vision. Cheers

Great suggestion! For a long time I used Cocoons, but they scratched up pretty easily and didn't fit over my glasses well. I know it costs more, but I get prescription sunglasses. (only one thing on my face to fall in the water) Tight lines!!

Too bad these tests don't tell you how these glasses are going to hold up under hard use!

I still have Maui Jims from 1996 that still work great. Glass lenses are pretty durable. These glasses have been through hell and back pretty much, even lost at one point. I recently used them to pressure wash for about 4 hours . One of the arms is missing a little piece of plastic but the inside of it is a steel flexible metal rod. Still fit great. The pair I had you could bend the arms to fit your head better if needed. If you can find some old stock Maui Jims with the thicker glass (made in japan) they hold up great. The new Jims look great too. Try a look at the newer "AMBERJACK" by Maui Jim. Probably my fav fishing glass style yet. The Smith and Jims would be a good bet.
