From a Glasgow rangers supporter I have to admit this is the best football anthem in the world. My uncle was a lifelong supporter of Hibernian and he had his ashes scattered on the grass at Easter road. I admit I sing this with all my heart

From a Celtic fan - that would bring tears to a glass eye. Football is all about dreaming and emotion and that has to be the most emotional rendition of a song football has ever seen - born of dream that after a hundred odd years, the HIbs might lift the Scottish Cup again.

Celtic fan meself. Checking in on this comment to say kudos for appreciating it under the circumstance. Scottish Football fans [including of that team you confess to follow] are as passionate as you get and have songs, lots and lots more than most teams around the globe. This came about because of fans being held back from leaving the stadium to keep them apart and 'prevent trouble'. As soon as this started playing, any Scottish football fan would know that was the likely outcome. I'd be interested to know how that hit the yellow vested audience ... How could that not be a lifetime memory, the acoustics of that situation would be awesome surely ? These fans were ambassadors for Scottish football that day without intention and entirely unrehearsed.

Spurs fan here as well, and I return to these clips every once in a while. The thing is, I've liked the Proclaimers from the start, and this has beem my fave song by them. I knew they were Hibs fans, but it was only maybe 10 years ago that I realised this was a club anthem.

I knew only one Hibs fan whilst growing up in South Africa, and this rendition epitomises the love that he had for his team. He never lived to see this day. RIP Stuart Cameron.

I'm from Finland, and didn't know much about Hibs, but I'm a huge fan of Proclaimers since early´80s. First time I heard the name Leith was when i bougt the brand new album just when it was released. This clip is just fantastic, I'm truly moved. the passion and joy just captures you. this is what football is really about. every friend of football in the world should see this.

The man uniteds, the chelseas, the rangers, the celtics, they can have their 20 premier league titles, their 30 FA cups, all bought and paid for with cash. This is absolutely brilliant. precisely mate all of those clubs who buy their way to success will never know the feeling that i felt that day as a hibs fan born and bread watched them home and away since i was 3-4 i am 41 now i have suffered more pain watching hibs than i care to remember ,, standing in that crowd singing sunshine on leith after watching our captain score an injury time winner to lift the scottish cup after 114 years and to beat the forces of evil from ibrox makes it even sweeter !!! is a feeling that will live with me forever !!! thanks terra , hope to see leeds utd on the up soon too .

Derby County Fan. Has to go down as the most spine chilling moment at a football ground ever.. Watched this loads of times. To think the Proclaimers happened to have written the perfect song in the era when Hibs would win the cup after 114 year wait and 10 previous fails as losing finalists makes it all the more poignant. The perfect game taking the lead, going 2 - 1 down and rallying to get the late winner. Goosebumps stuff. The sun shone on the crowd too. Just perfect. Does make me smile though. All the rivalry with the 'Us English' and the people of your great nation end up fighting with each other. Who is the enemy anyway? Time to put all that division to bed, unite and embrace the humanity of this joyous experience. I bet the Rangers fans who have seen this since, wish they'd have stuck around and joined in the incredible wall of sound.

Chelsea fan here too. Been going to the Bridge since 1967 and barring a handful, I haven't missed a home game since. Had a season in the West Lower now since it opened. I knew nothing about this song until I saw this pop in my suggestions. Talk about get you right in the pump and Dover. Cried for the first time in more than 60 years since my dad got killed. I ain't ashamed to say that this is beautiful. Like you said True, “Nothing says more about what it is to love your club through all the hard times...” Bit like now. Them Hibees fans that were there that day, unashamedly singing out loud and proud, an outpouring of over 100 years of hurt, like I said, I cried bucket.

Massive respect from a Mancunian Man United fan, I’ve watched this a few times and keep coming back to it every now and then, absolutely spine tingling. For those who were there and joined in it must have been one of the best 5 minutes of their life.

Climbed Arthur's seat this August. Got to top, saw the Hibs Ground and sang 'Sunshine on Leith'. A special moment for me- my wife and daughter thought I was mad. It's just one of those things which I wanted to do. I am an Aston Villa fan from England! I watched the Villa lift the League trophy in 1981 and the European Cup in 1982. Football is football and respect is respect. God bless the brilliant Hibs fans and The Proclaimers. I forgot to buy a Hibs scarf when I was in Edinburgh. I want to buy a Hibs 'Sunshine on Leith' one for myself for my Birthday. Respect from Villa to Hibs. (John)

A few hundred police listening to the hibs fans singing their heart out. This is a thing of beauty and Scottish football should be proud. You may be wee hibees, but you're oor wee hibees, and we love you!

I was lucky to be there because my Scottish friends Billy, Jack and John made it possible for my friend Chris and me to be part of this awesome afternoon at Hampden. We're Germans supporting our teams from Leverkusen and Dusseldorf but we'll never forget THAT SPECIAL AFTERNOON in Glasgow in May 2016. Glory to the Hibees!!!

The most emotional song ever heard at a football match. Have waited so long to win the scottish cup, you can hear 100years of relief and joy in the singing of this song. A match that hibs fans will never forget. Just wish that l was a hibs fan on that day.

I played professional football in the 70's and, now in my sixties, find it difficult to recapture the enthusiasm and sheer love of the game that I had in my innocent youth. This rendition reminds me of why I love football so much and of all the highs and lows that this magical game still brings. Moving beyond belief!

As a Leicester season ticket holder for 40 years (and a left footer) this is the best ever terrace anthem I have ever heard. Tear to my eye, always love The Hibbies. Total respect brothers, B.S.

I'm a Swansea City fan and they're the only team I'll ever support but whenever I see this and hear the fans belting out this beautiful song, I became a Hibs fan for four and a half minutes. canadian here.never watched a soccer game in my life,but i understand the emotion here.i feel it even though its not mine.the same way gerry and the pacemakers,youll never walk alone makes me emotional the vid of everyday people singing....aw man!

I watch this video every so often as, whilst I'm a Leeds fan, this epitomises everything great about the joy football can bring to thousands.

As a Rangers fan, my heart WAS broken that day, but living in Edinburgh at the time, hearing possibly the greatest rendition of a song at any match, and seeing what it meant to Hibs fans, thank you for drying my tears a bit with that 🍻

Amazing! Why has it taken me nearly 3 years to witness this? All the negative news was Rangers fans invading the pitch after their loss to fight the Hibs fans who were celebrating (but the Rangers fans did it to protect their players of course). This rendition of Sunshine on Leith should have been the main news of the day! Respect to the Hibs fans. Fantastic!

im a leeds fan. and quite a fanatic for leeds.but i defy any fan of any club in any league in the the world to produce such a beautiful harmonic and a magnificent moving joy to watch and listen as this.congratulations hibs.

Janet l remember my brother was so happy and proud that day,he was a hibs supporter all his life,I'm so glad he was alive to see hibs win the cup,sadly he died of cancer in 2o17 I've got his t shirts and scarfs on his bed and a ball signed by all the hibs player's,in memory of James rip sweet brother. xxxxxx

Wudn't that be something 👍 RIP James, never met you, never knew you, but you sounded like a real special man, who knows, maybe Rotherham United have their own team up there, and what could be wrong with a ding dong Scotland v England game with all the passion of our supporters who have gone before us ! My late friend was a SWFC fan, and wud drive up and down the country, spina bifida be damned, and i wud luv pushing her thru foreign streets, I hope we can all meet up one day, sweet dreams and a cracking game of footy for all who went too soon x

My team, Šibenik in Croatia, was relegated this weekend from first tier. But on Wednesday we play Cup finale, for our first trophy ever. We hope for a moment like this. Wish us luck.

Truely amazing love this song so much you guys obviously do I'd of been emotional wreck if I was in the stands I'm a villa fan and at times it gets specail like this in the holte end it makes football shine in it's own way tbh..ps loving john McGinn he is what we have missed for years

I just watched this again and remembered the great day in May when I stood in my flat in London watching the TV and roaring this at the top of my voice with tears streaming down my face. You need to to be a Hibee to fully understand the passion and the excitement is there for all to see

Every time I watch this, it warms my heart so much. I keep coming back to it time and again and it never fails to put a smile on my face. The most amazing fan singalong of all time. For those there, it must have been spine tingling.

Bristol City fan. I've never seen or hard anythng this passionate afte a football match anywhere.

I commented on this 6 years ago but it popped up on my feed and it struck me , as a Celtic supporter, i have cried at the atmosphere created by and the results of both Celtic and Scotland in the past . Yes I'm a grown man. It is fantastic to see supporters of clubs all over the world showing their appreciation for the Hibs supporters and so many simply blown away by it , awesome. I can add Hibs to that small group of football teams whose supporters have reduced me to tears now. Watching this all these years later its still as powerful as anything ive ever witnessed in football. The wait for glory , the manner it was achieved and that atmosphere at the end is what football is all about. Scottish football especially ( you can call me biased i don't mind) as i am. For a Celtic supporter to be reduced to tears of joy at Hibs winning the scottish cup and celebrating in such a way is just wonderful, having waited a century for it to happen too, its what sport , football is supposed to be about. This i will never ever forget, well done Hibs, your supporters have a special place in my heart for this display, thank you and this vid is by far the best as you can clearly hear the emotions of the supporters, if Celtic arent in the final, Hibs will always have my support HH YNWA 🍀

to the 201 people who gave this the thumbs down,i sincerely hope at some point in your life you experienced even half the joy i felt standing behind the goals, in that moment singing sunshine on Leith,as a true Leither having watched a team i and all my family members support and always have supported all the way back to my Irish great grandparents who had moved "little Ireland (the Grassmarket in Edinburgh)and followed Hibernian football club from day one. won the scottish cup,a cup that we had not won in 114 years and had almost accepted we would not ,no sorry could not win!! in the bright sunshine some 26,000 members of the hibs quire serenade 500 police Scotland cuntstubbles,the broken goalposts and dug up pitch a reminder of the 10 minute period when the Hibernian support had relieved police Scotland of their control of law and order and let them know after waiting 114 to witness an event that we never really believed we would witness and remembered our family members and friends we had watched hibs with over the years, who were no longer with us, i personally felt my grandad Francis and mates Mikey and James among others joining in the chorus from heaven... while the chief puts sunshine on Leith...thanks for the thumbs down boys, the ggtth that followed was a belter tae!

Incredible! I'm a Villa fan and I was so moved by this rendition of the Proclaimers' song that I had tears streaming down my cheeks. Football supporters are amazing and these Hibernian fans have absolutely made this song their own. Sheer brilliance! Charlie and Craig Reid, the twin brothers who front the band and are staunch Hibs fans must be so proud that their creation has become the club's anthem and must be elated every time they hear the crowd sing it. Absolutely incredible!
