The Best EV In 2022 Is A Hyundai | 2022 IONIQ 5 Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Whether you get the model with 300 miles of range or the model with 320 horsepower, or even the unexpected paired back base model, the IONIQ 5 is impressive and unexpectedly unique. It looks like a giant Golf hatchback (which I think is an asset personally), rides like a luxury crossover, charges in 18 minutes at (CCS from 10-80%) and is priced below the key competition. What's not to love? For me, just the odd placement of the subwoofer in the trunk.

Great review Alex. You sold me on the Ionic 5. I’ve driven a Mach E. I thought it was a lot of fun, even the fake engine noise. I would generally go with the more sporty handling car because I have just regrettably unloading my Golf R, arguably the best car I’ve ever had. I also drove a wheel rear drive ID4 at the beginning of 2021 and found it to be disappointing mainly because it was slower and Han my BMW i3s. That being said I have owned about 15 Volkswagens in my 68 years and I’m looking to score an Eos for the summer. My first exposure to that vehicle was in the south of France. It was never widely distributed in the US for some reason. I was getting prepared to order a Audi Q4 which is the better appointed version of the VW. While my Jetta is in the body shop I was given a loaner that is a little Hyundai Kona. It’s actually very fun to drive but it’s under powered, but The shift the automatic does allow one to stay in the optimal gear. Fuel economy of course is really good for a gasoline vehicle.

This is the most common mistake Ioniq 5 reviewers make. With the luggage net in the trunk removed, the second row recline is surprisingly more. and If you open the front trunk and open the cover, you can easily change the air filter. This is incredibly easy maintenance.

Very good video , I have just ordered in Canada the long range AWD ultimate package, the only fault I found on my test drive was the car really needs a rear window wiper , after I drove 10/15 mins in the rain I could not see a thing out of the back window. I hope Hyundai come use with some type of after market kit here in British Columbia we get a lot of rain.

Alex, the center console slides back and forth like 6 inches. The whole thing moves. Surprised you missed that.

I think you forgot to mention that the centre console slides forwards or backwards. That will fix the protrusion issue to the back seats.

Is heat pump that rare? I had an option to order heat pump in Kia Soul EV, which is previous generation compared to Ioniq5. I actually didn't get it, because according to calculation, it would only improve the range about 5%-10% in the winter, and I don't travel on long distance on cold seasons.

So, I have owned a 2021 AWD Mach-E First Edition for nearly a year. I absolutely love the car. But, I purchased my wife a 2022 Audi e-tron quattro premium plus vehicle, and now find any excuse to borrow her car on the weekends. Just a beautiful vehicle with awesome power, handling, and interior styling. Having said that, the price difference was $20,000. So although I believe EV producers should strive to make affordable vehicles for all, you have to acknowledge that there will be a tradeoff in quality, performance, ride, and build.

At 15:27 Alex mentions being surprised by the lack of a logo in the middle of the steering wheel. Actually they were a little clever with that because there is the letter H there, it's just in Morse code (four dots).

You mentioned that the Limited trim comes with Heads Up Display yet the Hyundai USA website makes no mention of HUD availability for any trim level. Yes, I've viewed countless videos that demo the HUD so I know the vehicle supports it. But, will Limited really have HUD in the US version?

You know where these flat load floors since there's no drive shaft they could easily put three seats in the front like a bench seat kind of like a truck have a console that flips up to a seat that would be really nice to be able to carry six people occasionally if needed.

My worry is the front turn signals. Are those actually recessed? If you are next to the car, it does not look like you could see them until you are already parallel to the front headlights. Can anyone verify this?
