I was out a North Slope last weekend and spent most of my time in Eco mode (used Trail mode on the punchy sections of the roads). I also ride a large size Timp Peak w/ the 635wh battery.... I was able to get 4,300 feet of climbing in with 40% of battery left. Unreal. I am using the configuration that Fezzari created for the bike.

Eco warrior! The timp peak is such a rad bike for that trail system. One of the main reasons I got it to be honest

4K feet in 6 miles climbing all in trail mode? Total ride just over 12 miles? That’s straight up! Good on ya! That’s killer range and those trails look fun! Great video!

Nice vid! I like how you added rider weight too, to give an idea on range for the total system weight. An eco test could be cool, or like you said, combining eco and trail for how you would normally ride!

Sucks down the juice way faster, without going much quicker up. Like double consumption but only 5-10% faster. However most eMTBs can be user adjusted for stronger/weaker levels within “Trail” and “Boost”

Good video, I hope to bump into you someday with my Timp Peak. I haven’t run my battery down yet at Capitol Forest yet but I have up north doing 4170 of ascent and 19.73 miles at the Raging Lollipop. Ended with 2% at the car. I recommend a garmin device or a watch like a Forerunner which connects to the STEPS system and gives you individual battery percentage. A fun thing to play with is the assist profiles in the app, by bumping eco a bit, I am able to stretch the battery by doing more Trail and Eco mode.

@@MTB_Corbin worth it. The top section of the climb was frozen ground where is crystalized and sounded like riding through rice crispies while looking at the orange brain fungus on the tree stumps but under cover it loamy and fun and wet. Over surreal experience. Have to do the 30 something switch backs to climb out still then down CCDH and climb out of that. Do as much as you can on eco next time you go.

@@MTB_Corbin all No Service. Invictus will have to wait for a time less wet/frozen, at least for me.

Been riding my buddies 160e with the ep8. It feels like that 85nm is only the first couple seconds of pedaling. Compared to all the bosch motors, they feel way more powerful. Do you have the same feeling? Btw sick views from North Slope🎉

I've never tried the Bosch motors... only the fazua ride 60 on the Transition Relay a while back. I'd be curious to feel the difference between shimano and bosch though!

Did you climb up from that side to start on Mr Bones or is the other(normal) entrance finally closed for construction of the ORV park?

Yeah this test day I parked at the parking lot across from the gate just off the highway. That's where I'll normally park if I'm doing eMTB laps on the bones, low key, slick jimmy side of the mountain. Parking at the ORV park place is still open though. I'll park there if I'm doing scoby and DNR laps

@@MTB_Corbin Supposedly ORV parking is supposed to be closed sometime the summer which is why the race is starting on the opposite this year. Wonder how the courses are going to look.

I love the capital forest trails but have you gotten any flack from others riding your emtb on trails that aren’t for motorized use? Per FOCF webpage and DOR they state that e-bikes are strictly prohibited on non motorized trails.. not sure what the fine is or what but was curious cuz I want to get an e-bike but am hesitant due to the regulations.. Any advice would be helpful!! Love the channel!!

Thanks man! eMTBs are 100% allowed at North Slope. It’s listed on trail forks but since Trailforks isn’t always accurate, the cascadia enduro series in the PNW hosts an eMTB race at North Slope. It’s one of the few CDC races that have an e-bike category… I have also ridden my eMTB at places that Trailforks says not allowed (Galbraith for example) and it’s a culture thing. There’s so many e-bikes out there and I’ve never had any issues with anyone. Respect earns respect on my book 👍🏼

When it dies, is it harder to climb than a non e-bike? Since it’s heavier? Subscribed.
