I have owned both Glock and Sig each has good qualities. I by choice just carry the Sig as my personal daily carry. There are many good companies out there making pistols of high quality. No reason to down one over another. Just a personal choice for everyone. Something may work for one person but not another. I'm glad we live in a country where we can still have a weapon of our choosing for defense. God Bless this great nation.

Having shot the Beretta, Sig P228, G17, G19, G26, G43 and the Sig P365, my choice for EDC is the Sig P320 Carry with a Wilson Combat grip module. Wilson’s grip module has fantastic checkering, a flared mag well and a slight thumb recess on the left side. It’s ergonomically perfect for me!

Most fixed sight pistols still rely on a dovetail machine into the slide to press the front and rear sight. There are minute adjustments afforded to the shooter, but refer to your local shooting range and their gunsmith for guidance. They may help you with the adjustments while you sight in. Or they may confirm your technique may be the issue. Either way problem diagnosed and hopefully solved

As a longtime glock user, I just made the transition to the p320 series of pistols. Amazing accuracy, ergonomics, fit and finish. The modularity also allows for the end user to really cater the firearm to his or her specific needs, in a way that is simply not possible with the glock or m&p platforms. I too am a big fan of the sig p320.

I appreciate you pointing out the modularity brother has been giving me crap for choosing the Sig over the Glock. Having shot them at the range side by side I was more accurate with the Sig and it was more comfortable. It seems like the P320 is more modular than any of the Glock models but I wasn’t sure if I was being bias.

Finally a polymer gun that I not only enjoy shooting but fits my hands like a glove and is ergonomically correct. Carried and shot 1911 for over 20 years. In my 20's I tried a gen 1 Glock hated it, picked up a 1911 never looked back. I did try many guns over the years but stayed with the 1911. This year my EDC has been a p365 and shooting club matches switching over to the p320 X carry. Sig has changed my mind and has impressed me this year.

I ordered a ruger security 9mm from cabelas and it was on backorder for 2 weeks so I just canceled it, went in to academy and bought this Sig p320 full size. It was 529.99 and 2 17 roung magazine's. If you do get a gun as a first time owner, DO MOT go to bass pro shop or cabelas. Go to academy or local gun store. Unfortunately with the pandemic people are panic buying guns and ammo and it's hard to get. Once I saw that academy had this gun I hung up the phone and drove up there and bought it today. It is a GREAT first gun if you can spend the money.

Javier, same here. I had to take a gun safety and what not type of course as a teen. I passed the safety part but failed the rest of it despite really putting my heart in it. While I am pretty proficient with blades, it is inevitable that i will need to soon revisit firepower matters. Wish I could take a beginners class with this guy as I'm pretty sure I'd get up to speed in my quality faster.

Thanks Mike for the GREAT review and things to consider when thinking of getting a EDC weapon. Your insight is WAY beyond any other guy out there giving their two cents worth. Its simple and just makes sense! If maybe you make another video like this go into depth on the drills you go through when evaluating a weapon. What you're doing and why, what you are looking for and what is considered the standard as to go or no-go! You did do this on your first static shots at the targets but the dynamic drills not so much. Those were more realistic drills. But anyway this was a SOPT ON honest video I really appreciate! Thank you sir!

I was recently reading about the sidearms that are carried by the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier, they carry special made sigs with timber grips made from the deck of the USS Olympia, the rear site inserts are made from the marble of tomb, they are highly polished, each pistol is named eg. silence, respect, perseverance, and they have 21 cocking serrations on the slide to symbolise the 21 steps taken by the guards while passing the tomb, well worth a look, beautiful and symbolic pistols.

Mike, very informative video and assessment of the pistol simulating real world situations. I have been watching allot of videos lately trying to evaluate the right Conceal carry pistol. I have fairly large hands and every micro or subcompact I have held just doesn't have the handle length I need for a secure grip. Been Narrowing my list down to three, FN 509 Midsize, Sig P320 X Carry and on the outside HK P30Sk. Your video, explanations of what you felt were important aspects to consider really helped me, not only for making a decision on the carry pistol, but my knowledge of shooting , pistol management in general. Thank You Sir.

Awesome video, great points made, solid editing with the rapid fire clips and filmography/camera work. Only thing I personally would've liked to see was a close up of your hands articulating on the pistol itself the slide release/catch. Hickok45 vids do this well to help express proportions. As always, SOLID work, keep after it!

A few days ago I qualified on the M17 for the first time with my Army National Guard unit. I am not in the position where I have been required to qualify on pistol, but they expanded the course of fire for more of us because they ordered more ammo. This is the pop up range which goes up to 30 yards using full size silhouettes. I was very pleased, as I scored a perfect 30 out of 30 for an expert pistol badge, the best that day amongst the members of my unit! Because of this I am considering getting a Sig P320 series as a carry gun, preferably a compact for concealability. Maybe I could get this model.
