One thing though. As your shed roof, water is free to evaporate, meaning evaporative cooling is loosing a massive amount of heat. If you covered it all with clear sheeting to stop that the output should substantially improve.

That's a crazy good idea. I like this a lot and all those people are just stupid bitching about bird poop. Like a bird can't poop directly in the pool. Great job.

What’s with all the negative comments? I swim in lakes and rivers all the time, nobody gives me grief about fish shit, sewer run off, bird shit and whatever other garbage is floating in there with me. Pools don’t have to be crystal clear to be perfectly healthy to swim in and from the sounds of it the kids were having a blast! I will say if you covered that roof section with a sheet of black plastic it would amplify the heat and probably reduce burn off. Keep up the fun, we love ours!

Nothing chlorine cant cleanup plus how many times do we swim in lakes or ocean or rivers..

In theory this is a good idea but in reality it is not. Chemicals from the shingles is the first. probably why the water in the pool is so cloudy. Same reason you can't use roof rubber liners for fish ponds. To many chemicals being released. Will kill your fish.

I think the water flow is just right because if I reduce the flow it comes back warmer but its not fast enough to heat the pool as it loses it heat faster than it come in, I will try it just a bit slower next time to test if its better.I also flush the roof off each morning before I let it return back to the pool. Thank you for your comments.

Slower will mean hotter water but higher volume is more efficient and thus will warm pool faster. Rather have 10 gallons warmed 10 degrees than have 5 gallons warmed 15 degrees.

Bad bad idea. Contaminants. Bird droppings, evaporation. 🤮. I Wouldn’t put my young children in that pool.

Umm no thanks maybe if you enjoy swimming in bird crap and whatever else is on your roof.
