dammm that sounds like such a nice build, im in love with this color it just screams luxury

I just got my hands on one of those frames, SL6 S-Works, Rim Brakes which I equipped with Ultegra Mech & Roval CL50 but the total cost went up to 5.5K USD and the total weight is about 7.1 kg. Sometimes, I think I overpaid for the build since I got every component separately on my own and it would have been better just sticking to a full-bike whether Specialized SL7 or Venge Pro or even the TCR 2021 Di2 version. Please let me know your thoughts. I truly enjoy and appreciate your honest reviews. Cheers!

yea honestly in these times buying everything separate and doing the build yourself usually costs more money then just buying a complete bike from a dealer. but I mean as it should be because you putting on exactly what you want and how you want it so at a custom bike comes a custom price, but still not a bad build at all, sl6 with cl50 is a nice rig for sure you will enjoy it for very long :))

I always wait for the new models, then look for the previous model and get that. But still not in my price range. I'm loving my SL6 to be honest and can't think why to get a new model. I suspect the SL6 is my last specialized.

the sl6 is an amazing bike for sure, its like an in between bike for the sl7 and aethos fast but comfy, keep an eye out I have a nice one coming out for like 4500 im gonna show it on the channel with cl50 wheels

Been lucky enough to get my hands on one of these after my 2019 Tarmac Disc Pro was written off in an accident. Only downside as far as I can see is the cost of the cassette and that it won’t be compatible with my 2017 KICKR.

yes this is true the 12 speed sram wil not work or line up witrh a 11 speed cassette for the sram

Not 100% sure about this, but there’s a SRAM freehub body that you could use and then add the 12 speed SRAM cassette.

@@roberthbailey the 12 speed sram cassette doesnt work unless you have a xdr freehub body, and that wont fit on those trainers yet, and the spacing for those cassettes is much tighter then the shiano 11 speeed

I really want to find an SL6 in that black digi camo, preferably rim brake (cuz it’s a little cheaper and here in Miami I don’t feel the need for disc brakes) ... but they’re sooo hard to find, I found one in 56 but I need a 54 or 52

So, hmm, what is the meaning of cheap because of the the SL7, how much has Specialized knocked off the sticker for that photogenic bike? And a vid like this is great, we get a general sense of clearance SL6s and you move, move, move out the door a bike on your showroom floor and make somebody happy.

well im saying like aftermarket price, if you look on like ebay your seeing a lot of sl6 on there becuase people are all trying tp upgrade to the sl7 so its making people wanting to move there sl6 for cheaper then normal

Probably the value performance buy of 2020... Put 38mm rims with tubeless setup, and it would be close to 7.0kg on the money with pedals! Would be more than enough bike for me!!!

It’s a smart buy... staying a year behind all the “new new.” Anyone doing a SL6 frame up build, be careful which frame you buy... some of the ‘20 SW SL6 frames still have a press fit BB. Not a huge ordeal for me... but might be for some.

7.3-7.4kg (with pedals) for an S-works Tarmac? Honestly this is a gorgeous bike but it's a race bike and therefore aero AND weight is important. The rim brake version would be 500gm less...and stop great too. (Amazing industry.)

No there is no way. You can buy a sleeve that threads into each other to make it more secure of a press fit and reduce noise that way but no way to make it threaded

OSBB is for 2011 and older Specialized bikes, I don't know why they still list OSBB on today's Specialized bikes.

Man you doing good job of your review, even I wont buy a bike from your shop, because I live in Germany, maybe you can answer me, listen I am a overweight dude, who wana train the shiat out of me, already lost 40 kilos (still weight 115kg, but I keep going!) and I wana ride races and will start with a race next year with my workmates, they are pretty good. I have no experience in road biking for now, but I train spinning & e biking (hardtail) very much atm and boxing. Can you recommand me one exact bike model, which I will have a lot of fun. Focus is on racing, I strettch me every morning to be able to get in better postions. My height: 180,5 cm , arm lenght 59 cm and standover 86 cm. About Price, just tell me what is necesary to have fun for the next years and be able to win ( i know the most is training, but I hope u get me mate). Why why why can’t specialized just make a mechanical shift, rim brake, carbon fiber road race bike, and sell it as a frameset??? I mean, they used to... I am SURE it would sell. Instead we have that absurdly overpriced, impossible to buy Allez Sprint... I wish they would quit these stupid paint jobs and limited releases, and just make a bike that you can maintain without spending $400 at the lbs. I’m interested in your viewpoint on this GC. Do any of your customers feel this way?

They will in a few years when discs doesnt sell that good anymore. Then they mark it as lighter faster, back to the oldschoool etc. and it will be 15.000€ for the S works.

BB30 with a good Bottom Bracket is performance wise better than BSA and thank god as a home mechanic and someone who sometimed adjusts their position internal cabling is a nightmare. For me the best compromise.
