The Best Choice Between Leonard Williams or Cooper Beebe

Ойын-сауық

We've recently learned that the Seahawks this past draft were trying to trade back up into the second round to select Kansas State Guard Cooper Beebe. Has the Seahawks not traded at mid-season for defensive tackle Leonard Williams, they would have still had their 2nd round pick, and been able to take Beebe. I asked Bootleg Football's EJ Snyder in a recent interview if the Seahawks made the right choice.

Best RG prospect in the draft. Should've been a 2nd rounder. Probably fell to the 3rd because there was such a huge amount of OL drafted in the 1st (and offense in general - broke an NFL record) and he's a little up there in age. IMO he should 100% start over Bradford. I think he's more NFL ready - he played a LOT of college. It's also nice our OL will actually have competent defensive lineman to practice against this offseason... For the last 4-5 years Seattle had a pretty abysmal DL (which has shown as Seattle's D continually has gotten worse)... it helps when you have guys like Murphy/Williams (athletic freaks) to help elevate your OL... We went in last year with Reed/Jones and a bunch of mid-later round picks? WTF? I bet the OL walked off the field like, "Oh yah, we did great out there." Then went against actual higher level talent in games and obviously got their asses kicked.

Needed Williams. It was absolutely ridiculous when Seattle went in last year with Reed/Jones and basically a bunch of no namers (late round guys). BAFFLING. I would also be slightly concerned with only Murphy/Reed/Hankins/Jones into this year... Williams changes that entirely... especially since Williams has 3 tech, 5 tech, and NT experience... he's being asked to play 6 different lineups from Mike (Williams directly said that in his press conference). Carroll unknowingly made 2 moves last year that I think 100% attracted Mike to this team... acquiring Williams, and drafting Witherspoon - and I have to wonder how much of that was John and whether him and Allen were already targeting Mike (not tampering, but targeting). Yes it would've been nice to have a good left guard in Beebee who was the best natural LG prospect in the draft... but we also got the best natural RG prospect in the draft and IMO had a bigger hole there... Tomlinson is a bit older and played like trash the minute he went to NYJ, but he was very good for San Fran. He can certainly be no worse than Lewis who inexplicably got paid that ridiculous contract by Carolina. I get LG is a more premium position than RG... but Haynes was a slide that we lucked out on. He should've 100% gone in the 2nd round. I get his age and the fact there was such a run on OL talent in the first (along with offensive players in general) dropped him... but in hindsight Seattle got LUCKY Haynes dropped to them. Haynes should NOT have been there when we drafted in the 3rd. I'll take Haynes/Williams ANY day over Beebee/some other 3rd round guy? We had a huge hole at RG btw... Bradford showed flashes but he already had some injuries in practice this year and when he was bad it was BAAAAD. Literally blew a comeback in the Steelers game for us after just getting completely beat. He didn't even try after he was beat he just kind of stood there and sighed... meh. Haynes should be the starter day 1... Bradford is immensely strong but always a project... see if you can develop him and put him at LG...
