Hello Everyone
We are Bert and Cindy. We are a Christian family with 4 children and are living a simple life on just under 1 acre in South Western Ontario, Canada.
Bert works full time outside of the home and Cindy homeschools our 4 children.
Together we are homesteading our little piece of property by incorporating back to Eden permaculture gardening; raising smaller livestock from poultry/rabbits to KuneKune pigs and Nigerian Dwarf Goats for larger animals.
Our goal is to become more and more self-sufficient and give our family a secure place to call home.

Minus the electric traps, I've gone through the same traps and concoctions you've tried, also with little to no results. I've resorted to pellet ratting, with great success, however it's time consuming. I'll definitely give this a try, thanks.

Thanks so much! Very nice to have you here! 🙂
I found your video I will give it a try. I have and electronic trap but have yet to put it out. I saw rat 1 hr ago (saw prints in snow) and then it ran to its home now I know why all the soil was piled up where it didn't belong. It looked fatter than before,. I will try this before the problem gets worse. I am in an urban setting so this will not amuse the neighbours. Thanks from Toronto.

Thank you! We appreciate you watching.
Such a great idea! I am so happy you have found a solution. I haven't had an issue with rats, but I have never seen so many mice before. Everyone here is saying the same thing. I am catching at least 8 per day. It's crazy. I am going to pressure wash my basement once it warms up again. It stinks. Ugh.

Thank you for watching. Yes they multiply so quickly it’s frustrating keeping on top of it.

Maybe try to search and watch KZread "worlds best mouse trap kills 400 rats" by engineer or inventor and honest business man Alexander Law who had done extensive research tested all 99% of traps failed then invented one of the true best! Hope it helps!
Fast forward to 6.5 minutes and you will get to the point. Very cleaver idea but get to the point hahahaha

See my answer on your other question.
Similar to our Suicide bucket without water. With water, perilite, seeds sprinkled over the floating perilite and a gang plank. Boom, lots of rats. Caught 52 in two days First you have to make sure your chicken feed is secured at night so there is no competition with your bucket.

We are going to give one of those a try after the weather warms up. With the temperatures here we don't have the option to use the water bucket method.
I would venture to say the scent has a lot to do with catching so many. We can set traps all day long in our feed room area and never catch a thing.

I suspect it has something to do with it, as gross as the maggot idea would be to some people I thought it could be key info for the success of the trap, ☺️. Thank you so much for subscribing and commenting. We will be sure to check out your channel as well.

I'm trying to answer again. My responses are not showing up after I post them. No I don't wear gloves. I use peanut butter on the trap. The pail was used for when we butchered chickens.
