Cheesecake should never be bland and it shouldn't have toppings to be complete, it should be able to stand alone but enhanced by a topping. The topping is usually there to hide the flaws in the top crust, but a ban marie would eliminate the need for that.

Well, I would be even more convinced that a particular bakery had to be awesome if the judge didn't like cheesescake at all, but all of a sudden their mind was changed, as if it were a breakthrough moment from eating a particular bakery's cheesecake. They stuck to manhattan bakery’s in this video it seems. Juniors is right across the bridge in Brooklyn though and its standard cheesecake. Nothing super special or gourmet about it.

Juniors is not only my favorite cheesecake in the city but it’s the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. It’s a shame you didn’t pay them a visit.
