    Thank you for making a calendar app that's highly customizable without breaking. This is the 6th calendar app I'm changing to, and I think this may be just what I've been looking for all this time. Clean UI, very fast, and easy to use. The natural language command bar is probably my favorite feature. Being able to quickly perform repetitive actions with the shortcuts is also a big win for people like me that don't like using the mouse for everything.

    I tried Google Calendar but it has far less iPhone widget features than Apples Calendar App. I really like to categorize my calendar entries so that I can scroll down the widget from a rougher view with the most important entries of the week to a more detailed view of the day. Are any of these app fulfilling this need or is it kind of an apple exclusive?

My 8-day Pull, Push, Legs, Rest workout split doesn’t align with a 7-day week, causing clashes with boxing. I need a solution to manage my workouts without overlapping my fixed commitments. i guess i keep searching. call me oldschool but i prefer simple things all the way. if putting something down into a calendar takes more time than just writing it down with a pen into a notebook, its already useless because the entire idea of a calendar is to make things easier and not to to make me spend more time. i dont need any of that fancy stuff, neither do i want A.I have anything to do with my calendar. heck this a.i sht can stay out of my computer alltogether.

    Is there any calendar where recurring events and / or tasks don't show in the calendar (which tends to make it cluttered) but do show as a notification so you can act on it?

  • @Druicy_

    @Druicy_

    5 ай бұрын

    Apple ecosystem - Native calendar app can do this fairly well by creating a separate profile and hiding it from view (you’ll still get notifications). Google Calendar - You can toggle the tasks/reminders from calendar view. Same and simple solution as apple calendar. Unfortunately there is no dedicated desktop app so you’d have to use the browser. Todoist + Google Calendar - Utilize the two way sync extension for Todoist so that all of your reoccurring Todoist tasks show up on calendar. This way you’ll get the notifications (via google calendar) and can toggle the them on and off from the view. Very similar solution to apple calendar option but IMO it’s far faster and easier to add quick or reoccurring tasks via Todoist given their very thought out UI/UX and natural language processing (ex. “Remind me to take out the trash every other Tuesday at 6pm”). I would also look at Tick Tick which has a lot of the same features as Todoist such as NPL while also having a built in calendar, pomodoro timer, Eisenhower matrix, and habit tracking. Simple option - just use a task management app separate from calendar. Given that you don’t want to see the tasks on your calendar, but want to receive notifications, you may be better off just using a separate app altogether. To me tasks and events serve a different purpose and workflow, so unless you want to sometimes see the tasks at a glance on your calendar (in that case use one of the options above) then just use a specialized app for task management.

  • @davidtedaldi1991

    @davidtedaldi1991

    In Morgen the UX is optimized to act through multiple calendars, in turn this can help with your use case by saving recurrent tasks/events in a separate calendar, that then you can bring up/down as easily as hitting a digit on your keyboard using the calendar sets feature.

    Francesco. Bro. I love your channel. I truly do. So I say this with loving criticism. If you have a video where there is little to no android stuff can you make it clear by making it known from the get go, or putting the android stuff up front and letting us know the rest is apple. This is not a shot against Apple but a request as a fan of your work. The last thing someone wants to do is get to the end of a video and feel like they wasted their time... Than the face they see and voice they hear is yours. This will cause people to look for other options. Just a piece of advice. 😎

I am currently trying to compare Morgen with Routine, as these two have a free tier, and are on the devices I use. I also only use google calendar so everything should work for me I would love to hear your thoughts on the differences! I know its much to ask but a "vs" of the two would be more than amazing. Also I would love for you to mention the state of the mobile apps too in your videos, since that can be a big part of the user experience. maybe a pipe dream but is there any easy calendar, task, notes app to just organize my life in one app??????

  • @Druicy_

    @Druicy_

    5 ай бұрын

    Notion would be the closest, but it really is a pipe dream in the sense that there will always be steep compromises in any “all in one” solution. Could work if you mainly care about one or two features more than the rest (ex. Tasks and Calendar > notes as an afterthought - in that case I’d look at TickTick). The general workflow and thought behind how you engage in each of these apps should be different enough that you can acknowledge the benefit of having them separate and/or focused in their own domain. There’s a lot of decent extensions for these apps which can work too (ex. Todoist + Google Calendar two way sync). I would highly recommend looking into the “Second Brain” workflow system. The key is to get the general idea and implement it yourself as there’s tons of hyper OCD productivity gurus that overcomplicate things and spend more time on perfecting a productivity system opposed to actually using it.
