The Best Built Gangster Ever
Спорт
Craig Monson was an infamous gangster in the 1960's and 70's but would become one of the biggest mass monsters of the early 80's at 310lbs with 23 1/4 inch arms.

He only went to prison for killing a home invader at his mom's house. Nothing else. Look it up
My older brother is into bodybuilding and we don't talk much. I only see/ talk to him about twice a year. I blew him away because of some of the lesser known bodybuilders ive heard of the last time we spoke .all because of your videos .

blkmustang007 loss my younger brother recently....he tried to connect with me through bodybuilding. It worked. I wish he didn’t pass away so we could compete together or some shit like that. Keep the love strong brother
This guy was legit. He had gang ties because he came up in LA but I think he denounced gang violence and wanted kids to get in the weight room.
What about CJ when you get him to 100% muscle in GTA San Andreas?

Big Craig was the best to ever do it. I say that because he did it without all the help, without money, without fame. That’s why this OG is the best to ever do it
Back then gangsters still fought like men so it was advantageous to them to lift weights and get big and strong. Nowadays they only need to work out their trigger finger.

WILD THINGS man tf r u talking about, back then all gangsters had guns too 😂😂
Great physique. He actually looks functional, unlike 99,99% of bodybuilders.
Tookie got banned from the weights room in prison His back was so thick he had to be double cuffed!!
GRAIG WAS FUCKIN HUGE. WEIGHTING 272LBS ON STAGE BACK THEN, HE WAS A MASS MONSTER. LITERALLY A RONNIE COLEMEN OF THAT ERA.
I trained at the same gym in Hollywood as Big Craig for years, and knew him pretty well. He’s the nicest guy you could hope to meet in the gym, and a true monster, even in his older age. His hands are absolutely massive, and he continues to carry a body weight of what appears to be 265lbs+. Great video!

GRE, do you realize you might be telling a 14 year old to grow up? Everyone here isn’t an adult.
The characters that came out of 1970's California are simply unmatched by today's bodybuilders. So many little-known beasts and stories of just guys who liked to fucking lift and were good at it. Love these vids Nick keep it up

Craig will always be remembered....he was ahead of his time...by 30 years. He made Lou and Arnold look like "little brothers" back in the day. Great to see footage of a Legend.
Wow, I'm from that era. I never heard of this guy. I think I've known every bodybuilder you've featured before this one. awesome video Nick!
Thank you for covering Monson. He's a true legend.
WOW!! I've been following bodybuilding since about 1980, and have a large collection of bodybuilding mags - but I have never seen a picture or heard of this guy till now. Great video Nick. This guy made a lot of the stars of his era look small. It's a crime that the powers that be chose to not let the public know about this guy. Craig Monson was an earlier version of Paul Dillett !!
wouldn't want to be caught in a drive-by shooting from those guns!

Amazing, I'm almost 60, in the very early 80s I had a buddy competing in the Mr. Cal. at Santa Monica Civic. I was standing at the urinal when this inhumanly huge black dude steps up to the one next to me. I'm 6',240lb college Md.Linebkr.,probably 19"arms,30"thighs fairly hard. This guy's delts were bigger than my head! We were approx . the same height, but this guy DWARFED me like I was a little kid. I never to this day knew exactly who he was to right this minute! Wow that's who that was, Incredible!

Nick, you're pretty much the only guy I know of that takes such an interest in the history of bodybuilding, the details, who would ever have known about Monson, I never even heard of the guy. I love watching your videos, sometimes i'm surprised how young you are, I would expect an old guy to be that deep into the history. Keep up the great work man!
Fascinating. My roots go back to the early 70s, watching Arnold et al...and this is the first guy you've shone the spotlight on that I've never, ever heard of.
I appreciate your insight and information Nick. You’re always spot on and thorough.
Another great one, Nick! The fact your'e keeping bodybuilding history alive needs to be 👏🏽
Craig was one of tookie wiliams idols he was looked up to by so many of the west side crip and east side crip ogs
Great Vid. Use to see him when I went down to Venice when I was in High School. Massive and Strong. The Old Workout Pit was Legendary in the 70's & 80's.
Stories like this is why your channel is becoming legendary.
WOW!!! GREAT VIDEO!! THANK YOU! Hope to see Mr.Monson celebrated more in the future!

Wow, awesome topic and video. I haven’t thought about Craig in decades. Ground breaking physique for sure.
This the type of guy that looks even more huge in person. Unlike a lot of other bodybuiders. Not hating, this guy is just massive
Great video thanks for posting
Great video Nick, keep it up!
Biggest man ive ever seen and I've seen almost every top bodybuilder at the old and new Golds gym in Venice. Saw Munson at The Pit at Venice beach in early 80's. Saw him bench 505 for 12 reps and tricep extension with 315 . Blew my mind man . I was young bodybuilder then and a good 200lbs but this brotha was so large as to defy imagination. You can catch a clip of Munson and another brotha in the Gap Band party train video . To date i have not seen a bigger man than Craig Munson . Impressive
Nothing like the 70s.
You always have great informative videos! Thank you!
Dude was a beast...thanks for the enlightening video Nick. Love your equal opportunity videos bro.

What's good Nick? I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your unbiased coverage you put together on these great men of their respected profession. Many of these titanic participants would never have been heard of if not for your passion for this sport. Beyond your passion, you possess a blinding characteristic that allows you to respect the hard work of many of these warriors of iron in a way that I've not had the attention span long enough to recollect. Thank you for not having that line that says "I won't cover a flawed human being, and that others will know his name regardless. Much Love from the copper/Black/Aborigines Americans. Nick usually i don't comment any videos but this time i have to do this. Nobody on youtube would make a video about bodybuilder from the 80's which is known only because CT talked about him for a minute. That's what makes your channel special. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great stuff Nick.
It’s so weird how the only thing separating him from a mass monster is his legs and waist, yet Tom platz has mass monster legs but not the upper body lol
Looks like perfect morph of Oliva and Coleman! 😎
