Thanks for these great tips Angie.
Great info Angie. I used the ultra hold Heat N Bond on felt to make felt eyes for my amigurumi. I made quite a few eyes but never thought that leaving the paper on would dull my blade. But I guess it's like scissors you don't want to cut paper with your fabric scissors.
Hey Angie! So glad you made this video. I actually like the fraying around the image for certain projects, gives it a distress look. Either way, thanks again! Happy Crafting! 🤗

I seen a video recently by someone where they used freezer paper instead, it seemed to do well.

Oh wow! I really needed this info! Just to be sure, you said to use the rotary blade if we have a maker. Thanks!

Yep I would always use the rotary blade if I had the maker.
This was a great video!!! TY I'm curious do you think I could try the misty fuse? Have you tried that one on the cricket for appliqué?

Hello Angie. Love your videos! Do you have a video on how to use Design Space to prepare an uploaded pattern for cutting on the Cricut Maker? I can upload the file, but have no idea what to do next. Thanks!

I have serveral of them. Not sure what you are trying to make?
Thanks for this great video. I am new to Cricut and will be cutting fabric exclusively to decorate hats - so no sewing, just fabric paints to edge them. Just want to confirm, when using iron-on bonding with paper, do you put the paper side down or the fabric side down to cut? In the video it looked like you put the paper side down?
@AngieHolden

I did put the paper side down. That is what I would recommend.
Thanks very informative. Where did you get the shelves that your Cricut are on?

Did you use the rotary blade on that perfect cut? Thanks for this great information!

For bonded fabric, you can get pretty good cuts with the fabric blade but yes a rotary blade will make the best cuts.

Would I be able to cut designs and embroider around it on my embroidery machine. Using the heat and bond sewable? I'm thinking twill for a jacket?

Yes you can!
I saw some denim earrings and was wondering if I back them with HTV and cut them, would that work in a similar way as using interfacing? I wasn't sure how the denim would differ from faux leather.

I haven't tried that? Maybe?
Do you think dissolvable interfacing would work ? I make clothing and don’t want all my pieces to have interfacing (I am interested in the cricut venture, not the maker, which is why I ask)
@AngieHolden
Жыл бұрын
Good question! I think it would actually! You just need to make the fabric stiff enough to cut. I do think it would have ragged edges.
If you keep the paper on, does the paper go on the mat or facing up? Thanks!
@AngieHolden

I do paper on the mat so facing down.

Is that HTV on your shirt? How long does a shirt/htv hold up, typically, please? Thanks! Back to the show!

It is HTV on my shirt. Depends on how rough I am on it but 20 washes I would say?

Years ago I did a Silhouette of lucille ball using cricut and heat n bond purple. It did great. All the little cuts in her hair and face showed. BTW this was made for a mug rug so it wasn't huge. Good quality fabric works best.
So a regular fabric rotary blade won't cut with the bonding on the back?
@AngieHolden

Yes it will!

@AngieHolden I'm kinda new to the fabric part I've been use to vinyl so forgive my ignorance lol the bonding stuff won't stick to the blade and ruin it will it? I'm wondering why they make a bonded fabric blade if a regular one will work?
@AngieHolden
Ай бұрын
The bonded fabric blade was made for the Explore machines which will not accept a rotary blade.

@AngieHolden thank you I have both and I have used both now after your answer and I think the blade works better anyway 😄 have u ever used the knife blade to cut wood
But what if you’re cutting fabric for quilting? You don’t need it to be bonded?
@AngieHolden
Жыл бұрын
Then you would need the maker. I have a video in doing that.
Thank you my sublimation yen! You’re the best!

I would use a maker and the rotary blade so you don’t have to bond your fabric.
