Thank you so much for this, it worked out for my 1st time. ALSO, advise for any Air2 owners, NO NEED to buy fabric blade, it's the same as the fine point, it is just a backup for me now, GEEZ!! Again thank you for this tutorial, it answered all my questions!!

I heard that you should designate a separate blade (if using a fine point) just for fabric just like you designate different scissor? True?

I can’t thank you enough I bought the cricut maker and have been trying to understand how to make the face mask. I’ve been so frustrated I contacted them directly after twenty minutes on hold I was somehow disconnected. More frustration. However even though I wish your video had one opening line like click in home! That way you see all choices clicking on canvas does nothing! After more frustration finally realized my error was being on canvas versus home! I did it. After several attempts I think I’ve got it. I’ve made over 700 masks so far and donated every one. Now there will be more and I’m hoping no more shoulder pain from cutting! Thank you so much!
you do not know how grateful i am for this video i have had a explorer 2 and just didn't know if i needed the maker

I was just thinking of using my Cricut Air 2 for fabric. I thought I had to use heat and bond lite and buy a fabric cutting mat for the machine. But according to this, I can use the regular green mat? And perfect circles!!! Great!
Thank you for the this video. It will definitely help me with my explore Air 2.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have the air 2 and eventually want to get the maker but there are a few other things I want to get first. Seems to me if the the air 2 has a wool, they would just add cotton to. So going to book mark this.

Great to hear! We LOVE our Air 2's! :)
Hey Becca. Thank you for your video! I am new to this channel but we’ll come back for more. I am researching circut machines and I am planning to get a circut air. But a question that will help me make a decision is. : can I use the same method ( and blade) to cut felt.
So I really loved this tutorial. I did try it but it cut on my mat as well as the fabric. Any tips? What did I do wrong?
Great!! Thank you so much for the tip! Is there a way this works on the cricut joy too? Or better even would there be a way to cut felt with a joy?
Can you use Parchment paper as well?
Could you use parchment paper?
Are you able to cut stretchy fabric with this technique as well?
Quick question, would this work on lenticular fabric? I would like to make lenticular images. This is pretty much the deciding factor if I should purchase this product or not. I would truly appreciate a response, thank you very much.
If I have the fabric mat do I still need to bond to freezer paper?
Any tips for denim with the air 2? Or that’s a maker only capability?
I would have never thought of cutting fabric on my Explore air 2.. this is pretty cool. Do you think this could work with regular Contact sheet or the Glad Press and Seal too?

Hard to say, feel free to test it!
Just wondering if I can use heat and bond instead of freezer paper?
will wax paper work and if so how would you recommend doing this
Can you cut fleece with the Explore?
Can you only use cotton fabric or can you cut other types of fabric using this method?
Would I use this technique for Fleece?
is there a substitute for freezer paper from Cricut, very curious!
I want to create applique letters to embroider over. Can I use an iron on stabilizer?
Hi love your video. So the cricut air comes with which blade. Also want to know what bonding to use if one want to adhere it to a t shirt for instant
@MakersGonnaLearn

Kindly check the details of what comes with the machine you are buying. www.amazon.com/dp/B01GSOMVRG?tag=onamzmakersgo-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B01GSOMVRG&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.33NCUASGO0CPU&th=1
Can I do the same with felt?
My fabric keeps getting pulled by the blade. Not sure what is going on as Ive followed all the steps in this video and am using same materials! Cutting a very thin bonded cotton.

Same here. I followed all the steps and it failed.
Can i cut heat n bond on my cricut 2
will it work on wax paper? is it the same thing?
Just bought a Cricut Explorer and curious why bond material?
Do you think this could be done with faux leather and suede?
@rosaliecreations
Жыл бұрын
I cut faux suede with my explore air 2 with no problem!
Hi can you please tell me if my circuit explore air 2 can cut peltex 72F (pellon) ?
What I the knife I need to use to cut fabric with my air 2 ? If you can attach a link it will be better🙏😊
I've never used a die cutting machine but now that I get pain in my hands from very little activity, the air 2 seems right for me. Do you have to buy a bunch of plates and attachments to use it? Or do you program the design into the machine on a screen thats part of it? Do u have to buy ink cartridges made just for this machine, for printing a design on paper ? Could you print a design on fabric or Aida. To be embroidered? Would it copy a design from paper onto fabric ? Does it emboss card stock ? Thx for the video, ill probably join you group. One last thing. What machines best for cutting 8x8 squares of multiple pieces of fabric at once ? I want to make quilts with big squares or circles, than iron on nicely cut fabric appliques. Or do sunbonnet sue, or a house with trees & hills on it. Thanks so much
@MakersGonnaLearn
3 жыл бұрын
You do not need a lot of materials to use it, no. The Machine is controlled by a device like a tablet, laptop, desktop, etc and there is where you can have and use your designs for the machine. The machine is a cutting machine, not a printer :) The Cricut Maker can emboss cardstock. If you want to cut fabric, the Cricut Maker is the machine for you :) Hope this helps!!
What kinds of fabric can this cut please? Polyester?
Does it leave the fabric waxy.
This is awesome! Thank you!! Can you use the standard blade for this, or should I invest in a fabric or some other blade? Thank you!

Elaine this is a great question and exactly what I was thinking when I watched this video. Can I cut it with just my find point blade or do I need a Bonded Fabric blade? Definitely going to be buying a replacement fine point blade to have just in case this dulls my current blade and makes it so that I can’t have crisp cut lines anymore but that is some thing I would’ve had to do anyways and I am super excited to try may be cutting out some little eyes out of thin black fabric for some of the little crochet dolls I want to make for my daughter and possibly sell 😊❤️
Is this the same as parchment paper?
Thank you Becca. This is amazing. Everyday I am learning sooooo much from you guys. Would this work with the Explore Air (first one) as well?
@Trina7594
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the only difference between 1 and 2 is 1 requires a Bluetooth adapted to connect wireless to the Cricut and Air 2 has it built in. The cutting mechanisms are the same.
@melissakendall6777
3 жыл бұрын
Katrina Floyd-Gonzales actually my Explore Air (1) does not need the adapter. It is the regular Explore that needs it. But I wasn’t sure what difference there was between the Air (the one I have) and Air 2. The Air means it has Bluetooth.

im trying to cut material and its not staying on the freezer paper what am i doing wrong should i use some painters tape to hold it down on the edges? help please alicia f.
Ihave the Explore Air 2 and there is a bonded fabric setting so I used it with the "pink" fabric blade. Fabric crumples up from the freezer paper.....I tried the bonded felt/wool custom setting and the blade cut into my mat. I'm using a little iron at 400 degrees to adhere my freezer paper. Help!
Can “felt wool bonded” be used for layering fabrics?
@MakersGonnaLearn
3 жыл бұрын
You must cut fabric one layer at a time :)
If you were to try to put a rotary blade into an explorer air would it just not work or have an error message or would it mess up the machine do you know what would happen?
@MakersGonnaLearn
3 жыл бұрын
So unless you've seen a Cricut Maker it won't make much sense, but the Maker has a set of gears in clamp B, gears which intertwine with the gears on the rotary blade, the knife blade, etc. Without the gears working together the blade/tool will not do anything, it will simply not work. Good question though! No one's ever asked that before, it was fun to answer!! :)
If you have a fabric grip mat do you need to bond it to freezer paper?

Clean it by poking it into a ball of tin foil. Adjust the pressure to more to make the blade last longer (this can be done once you select your material in Design Space).These tips help us the most!
I am new to this and I don't have either of the supplies (mini iron and freezer paper) Is it safe to use regular iron and wax paper?
@MakersGonnaLearn

Regular iron is fine! But wax paper is not. You need freezer paper because it only has wax on 1 side, which is necessary for this :) Great question though!
Think I can cut twill the same way?
Any specifics on what fabrics work for the air? I was thinking of purchasing the maker but if my explorer can cut the fabrics i work with then I can save me some money lol
