I wish this quality was available at this price when I was either learning or broke. Unfortunately I am just an old man crying about how hard I had it in ye olden days. "A starter Epiphone was $500 in my day, and that was a steal!. You had to forfeit the case, and the mere suggest of a free amp would get you laughed out of the store. We had to walk to school nine miles in the snow, uphill both ways, etc..."

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As a music teacher, I really appreciate the way you adapt the presenting style to a younger audience for these starter packs. I think it may just seal the deal for some youngsters who're on the fence about learning guitar.

Best thing about Christmas is the countless Andertons videos that will come out for the busy season. Who even cares about the guitars, I just want to hear Pete's jokes slowly ignored and Lee trying to talk over guitar licks!

I am looking for a rig just under $5k. What would you suggest?

Just bought an st2 for a friend as a beginner guitar and it is crazy good for the price. As a guitarist with 20+ years under my belt these are great- setup was great and had a check card in the box- and had definitely been QA properly- good job. Changed the strings and polished the frets and it is a lovely little strat. The neck is particularly lovely (hoping my friend doesn't stick at it and regifts it to me 🤣)

The colours on some of these guitars are stunning.

Many of us in the US really depend on Andertons to teach us about new and different guitar equipment. Whether it be guitars, pedals or amps at different price often we learn about it from you guys. Also, the riffs are very cool as well. Thanks

and i would die of cringe from the bound to be terrible 'Andertons like' videos some awful retailer (like GC, would put out). coming out the gate itll be two presenters who dont actually play guitar, b/c NOT hiring someone who cant play guitar is discrimination! and racism! so GCs 'guitar' videos will feature two 'minority' (black) presenters, neither of whom can play guitar, let alone any instruments, but one of the 'black women', is actually a man who is transitioning! PR says we have wonderful optics! clown world gets worse everyday, for all i know there is a music show out there hosted to two people who do not play instruments, are were only hired for the gig b/c of nepotism.

Love how differently Pete plays depending on the guitar type. He's always most comfortable on a Telecaster, but damn can he play anything they throw at him.

I bought a Grote hollowbody ( single P90) guitar 4 years ago... amazing...4 other friends bought them as well.

Good on you guys for using simple language knowing this video will be aimed at mostly Parents and Newbies. It’s awesome to see all the amazing options new guitarists have these days. Keep up the good work guys!

"starter/beginner" guitars have come so far in quality compared to 20 years ago when I first started playing. Back then your options were an affordable crap-caster that made your hands and fingers bleed, not from epic playing but from being rough/sharp/poor quality materials, or spending a ton of money on something you're not sure if you like or will ever be good at. 9 out of 10 people probably bought the beginner crap-casters and spent more time fighting their poorly made guitar than they did actually learning anything. That's how it was for me for many years before I finally grew a pair and stepped into a guitar store and plugged in some actual quality instruments. The difference is night and day. My major turning point was purchasing an ugly green beat up Agile singlecut. It was by no means an expensive or glamorous guitar but the way it felt to play and the way it sounded was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.

Pete can make any cheap guitar sound like an expensive one. I am really good at the opposite.

Seriously, after watching all of these videos , you guys....I would be beeligning for Andertons for ANYTHING MUSICAL. You obviously DO put alot of dedication into researching, sourcing, and testing these products and even going as far as to categorize best matches, for sound and suitability, right across the board, for any guitarist , at any stage, in any genre or sound style and ratio. On top of all of this ( wait but there's more! ) You also do the best prices you can ( yes, I can tell) for your audience / customers , and refreshingly , you PROMOTE , all of this, without the fast talking , syrupy sleaziness , of a shoddy carsalesman . No weird , shonky vibes here! That is for sure. And to really top of the tree with a big Gold Star, you KNOW WTF , You are talking about, you know how to explain simply , what goes with what and why ... Along with which ones are suited to whatever, and then give us all the comprehensive rundown on set up and the all important SOUND Demo for comparison, of all the equipment and the range of choices available in each featured videos topic and range. I know I can choose and purchase these products from Andertons, that I need to invest in, with COMPLETE CONFIDENCE, without even walking into a store ( I know right, the mind boggles!🤯😃) . Why couldn't we have had guitars like this when we were starting out?!?!?!? Wow!

The "starter pack" I bought my son when he was 9 was a used Charvel guitar and a 50-watt Soldano purple head and matching 2x12 Soldano cab. He's now in his 30's and a professional guitar player. My theory was, get him the real thing. If he gives up guitar it wasn't because the gear was crappy and, it's 100% resell-able or even profitable rather than taking up closet space. If he did give it up (he didn't), I'd sell it and give him the money. I recommend this approach to everyone.

It's amazing what a difference just using a 'proper' 12" speaker makes! I had a pure TUBE 5w practice amp, but with only an 8" speaker it just never sounded great...

I've got both of those last two guitars and I love them! I have that one in purple you see there and the same color as the jazz one they show. I swear, I pick it up more than any other guitar. I also have the Durple

Awesome video I bought the slash epiphone pack last year was under 300 and got a epiphone slash snake pit amp, slash bag, slash picks and a lovely looking and sounding epiphone designed by slash himself.

man these starter packs are really great. super affordable too, I thought they would be upwards of 300 dollars but there super cheap.

Any kid growing up now wanting to learn how to play guitar is literally in Christmas land with the ridiculous amount of options and choice. Wish we had this many choices to choose from 35 years ago. Insane $130 for a starter pack , damn!

Obviously not expecting these to sing the most beautiful tones out of them ever at this price(which is fine and these are absolutely worth getting for anyone at any level with a price like that), but this video is more proof that there is something special about the middle position on a tele. Well, i dont know if you know his story before he came to the channel, but Pete was already a very accomplished professional guitar player that toured with the best out there and as far as i know also helped Mesa Boogie with the design of some amps. So i think that in these videos he might actually be holding his playing skills back lol

squier strat guitar pack!! totally worth it

The 35 watt amp sounded so much better than the other two. IMO the amp should be what most of the budget goes towards as it makes the biggest difference for the sounds. Having said that, none of these amps were great for higher gain sounds. Of all the guitars the one I was most interested in was the J90. It looks like a great candidate for converting into a slide guitar.

I’m in the US and many of these starter packs are unavailable for me due to the size of an overseas shipment. Is there anyway around this?

The torrified maple neck is worth more than the guitar! It's literally worth buying just to put on a better body. Grote used to build Chibsons. Might be a cool mod platform but the photo flame is kinda chincy.

The Amazon brand lol. The website has Grote L1 and Eastcoast L1. Grote seams to have a more accurate horn shape.
