Crash Alert! I haven't thoroughly tested everything, but RBM and Better Smithing together were giving a 100% crash rate on crafting Menavlions. Other polearms worked fine, but selecting Menavlion head would crash.

i think its because the specific version of RBM he has downloaded is intended for bannerlord 1.1.2

@@bappo147 it is as i was running all the same mods with later more updated versions and did not crash also noticed his before native mods were out of date and due to the changes to the game they will error out a lot more thus causing other mods orders to not work right i was having the same issue about 3 patches ago as in 3 before full version got so bad i deleted everything including the game as i was that pissed off with it and the reason the speed up one causes crashes is due to the game having issues reacting to the speed the same thing used to happen with warband edits to the games speed this is one of the reasons they made it slower in bannerlord so it was not happening as much as the game has more time to adapt and change things on the map after things happen

This is why you hold back on updates. I know from experience, i modded oblivion back in the day. The trick is keeping a save of your modfolder.

This guy has to be one of my favorite bannerlord content creators of all time, the way how he tells me things in his guides i never knew before helps out so much thank you Strat.

Man, mods are so addicting... You start adding little by little into your game until everything you do causes a crash, and you have to roll back and start analyzing everything, it can be so frustrating, but oh so satisfying when it all comes together... Having a modlist ready like this that works, has tips on configuration and warnings is very nice. Awesome video =)

It's why I wish more games had mod packs like the GAMMA pack for Stalker. 300+ mods tailored together in a relatively easy install process, which all work almost flawlessly, and it entirely changes the game and makes it deeper and more enjoyable than AAA titles, and hell -- for a game THAT old it almost looks as good as recent AAA games. Better in some areas. I haven't played Bannerlord in almost a year, and I'm almost reluctant to start a campaign despite upgrading my GPU because I'll want to mod it, but I simply can't be bothered to go through the modding process you cited. But knowing how many amazing mods exist means I can't bring myself to play the base game either, but I'm stuck in limbo because I don't wanna spend time downloading and then troubleshooting mods before I even start. Then a patch breaks the save entirely. Yes I'm being picky and lazy because it's all free content, and we probably won't get that till the game stops being so WIP, but meh.

Yeah man, the mods make the game better. I was playing vanilla on hard settings it got boring. I did a lot wrong but still thrived. The mods are annoying bc I was a console person. About to delete all start over and try to do this campaign.

You have no idea how much this helps, I just got started into modding bannerlord for the first time a couple of days ago and its been a nightmare! I'm talking constant crashes, I'd be playing for like 20 min thinking everything is okay then all of a sudden my whole comp crashes. Only happens on bannerlord when its modded up, I've been taking mods off 1 by 1 till im getting a more stable game but this video came out right on time :P . Ive been binging most of ur vids, keep up the great content! :D

Thanks for watching! Even with a solid list, the game will still crash from time to time so make sure you turn up autosave so you don't lose much progress. I was playing vanilla last night and it crashed on me lol so maybe it's not even the mods and just the base game!

Get the better time mod and test your mod list by running the game at the maximum speed for five minutes adding each mod one at a time. I found that any increase death mod crashed my game in late game.

Depending on the crash type you can actually see which mod is causing the crash. This helped immensely with my modding on the game. Hope it helps!

About 9 months ago I got HEAVILY into this game for the first time and went with 1.0.1 and spent 2-3 days getting different mods tested, finding the correct versions. Sifting through countless change logs and countless previous version downloads putting together my 6-8 mod game. To see someone actually make a video with this much clarity and direction while being end user friendly. Bravo and Salute. Great video.

It's great when you include the mods you run with so we can create similar scenarios, thanks for this. Hopefully you've managed to report the crashes to the various mod authors so they can investigate and resolve. ps. love it when you include the bloopers 😁

RTS Camera is a mod I can't live without. It's super good for ordering units in RBM campaigns, and you can also use it to take control of a unit after your character falls in battle.

Hey SG! I’ve been watching your videos for about 2&1/2 years now. Dreaming of the day I could get on a pc and enjoy the games I’ve watched you play. Well that day has passed as of about a week ago. And the first game I bought and downloaded was Bannerlord. Now I’m trying to learn modding, installing programs, and load orders. I’ve run so far only harmony, character reload, and rts camera. I’ve done the load order based on what you show in the beginning of this video yet I can’t seem to get the game to load without crashing. It’s been frustrating but I’m going to keep trying. Thank you so much for all of your strategy guides and entertainment videos.

I manually install my mods because I couldn't get Nexus to work consistently so it's hard for me to keep track what mods are up to do and which don't so I often get a sleeper mod that kills my save whenever the game get's updated. Thanks for the mod list, I'll be sure to use this as a basis.

One issue I've ran with RBM, if you are using their troop overhaul, which is great, sometimes a javelin throw in the back shield causes a crash.

If you plan on making a video about rbm then something I would want to understand in the video is level scaling, I know from the description of the mod that swords improve the most with your level but is that really enough to make them overtake maces in late game though? Also in late game which weapon type is the best in late game?(My bet is sword because they deal the most damage and Vandal would mitigate their biggest weakness which is armor-piercing.) Also thank you for the high quality content!

I am beyond addicted to this game. A month in and i easily have 150-200 hours in. Sad but i dont regret it 😁 i wanted to struggle as much as i could in the vanilla version at first, then after some youtube videos my mind was blown 😮 this is WITHOUT mods !! I cant wait to dive in. Id rather truly learning the vanilla version to know what i feel it needs added or changed.

The problem is that no mods really fix what's fundamentally wrong with Bannerlord. You can redo the map. You can reskin units. You can tack on mechanics. You can add more screens to click through. However none of them really fix the fact that Bannerlord is a battle simulator and not much else and has no actual kingdom management at endgame.

@@Strat-Guides If you dont mind the graphics and manage to get through the setting, be prepared to sink 1k+ hours. It had the same development time as bannerlord, made by 1 guy, but its a finished game.

I would personally recommend fourberie, this is an incredible mod for a bandit playthrough

Yeah my little warband lets you create your own custom troop tree. I've had issues with crashing before when I tried to use it, so maybe don't use mods that add new items or gear to the game if you're going to use MLWB

Yeah same! I have nightmares from the last time I tried it - I spent 5+ hours getting a full set of custom mercenary troops and the game crashed anytime I would try to hire them :*(

These mods give the game longevity. I have over 1300hrs in warband so I knew that bannerlord would become a bit samey after a while. Still going though, and these, and other mods keep the game fresh. Nice.

One thing that I've found is that trying to make a companion from "more companions in my tavern" into a clan leader results in a crash

I think you should do some using real military tactics video, those seem to be popular

What are you current thoughts on Banner Kings? Do you prefer playthroughs with or without it?

Hey guys, I found that the Banner Kings mod limits the Roman's recruitment pool to only Legionaries and Equites. Does anyone know how to change it so I can at least recruit Roman auxiliary units? In the mean time I will just play without the mod, which kinda hurts a little bit I can't lie hahaha. If it helps, the recruitment change desc as written on Banner Kings' Nexus mod page states: "Noble recruits now spawn for every noble. The change is based on their power. In native, nobles only spawn for a specific notable type, and are guaranteed to spawn; Noble recruits are most common in villages, followed by castles, and rarest in towns." What's confusing to me is that while I understand why Roman Noble recruits are reserved for lords, I found (at least in my limited testing) that virtually every Roman lord I fought had nothing other than Legionaries and Equites in their armies. And while this composition was usually enough to carry the day, I gotta admit that it removes a significantly amount of flexibility and depth out of Roman warbands. TLDR: Banner Kings won't allow me to recruit Roman auxiliary or noble units by simply removing them from spawning in recruitment pools. Not sure if this is a similar case to the other factions of Eagle Rising, but in the case of the Roman recruitment pool, nothing other than Legionaries or Equites are able to be recruited by myself or Roman lords.

@Strat_Gaming I would love a video explaining how to figure out what mod is causing the game to crash. I'm new to modding and can't figure it out.

Anyone else having issues with save game bloating? My campaign isn't even that old yet and at the beginning everything was fine but now each time I save it takes like 2-3 min. and the save files are getting progressively bigger. First save for my current campaign was roughly 8mb and now my latest is almost 25mb. Of course I can just save less often I guess but with how prone to crashing Bannerlord is saving often is almost mandatory.

How do you speed up the battles though? I thought that was Better Time, but it seems to only work on the map because in battle the numbers select squads.

Banner Kings is a must have mod even if it means you usually have to spend x amount of time figuring out bugs etc

Hi Strat is downloading from steam workshop different from downloading on nexus because for me personally downloading on nexus is really tedious but then somewhat enjoyable, then the game updates is steam workshop really that bad im genuinely curious im getting banner lord soon before the summer sale ends

@@Strat-Guides Yes, on nexus i can't download when files are too heavy cause it's crash , so i just downloaded the steam version, after the download i found the localization of Eagle and made a local version to stop the auto update of the workshop, mod crash alone or with other mod, i'm not the only one with this issues on steam version is the same as your's, tomorrow I gonna try a workshop version alone.

Thanks! I'm using steam and the mods are installed manually through Nexus, so no launcher specifically for the mods.

Do you have an updated list for this? Because some of the mod versions you are using are no longer available to download, even by cheesing nexus that hides the archives, by googling them and downloading manually. I managed to find some this way, but more companions for my taverns I cannot find, or realistic weather... And it's a shame, I want to play this mod list very much. I tried the same list but for game version 1.28 but it crashes on new game start. How did you get Banner Kings to work with all of these mods? Even the mod page for more companions for my taverns says that it is incompatible with Banner Kings.

What are the RBM settings you use? My gameplay doesn't seem to exactly line up.

I hoped to see some mods that don't improve your experience, but give new. This is the thing that did mount and blade 1 so replayable. For example Prophecy of Pendor. I have played for hundreds of hours in Mount and blade warband, but when I installed the mod, I played another game. I have only one question where are such mods like PoPor or something like that?

Could you please make a video covering the Banner Kings mod?
