I realize I unfortunately missed one emote, which is "The Lowdown" from Drizzle Season 2022. I would personally put this emote in C tier. (I did include it in the final tier list but somehow forgot to actually talk about it, sorry about that)

Although it was popularized because of the memes the weird thing is it has always been around for decades. I remember Power Rangers and Kamen Rider did it then people found out World War Veterans had done it before baby boomers were born.

Out of all the emotes that were released in a majority of the updates, my most favorite one is XOXO from chill season 2023. I like how the inkling/octoling blows a kiss and then smiles.

It would be really fun to do a turf war with friends where everyone has e-liter with point sensor and tacticooler - really horrible, but funny anyway

I want to mention that in Splatoon 2 if you won with the Tenta Brella as an Inkling you would spin around the giant canopy and it was cool. But if you win with Tenta Brella in Splatoon 3 with The Square Show Off equipped you'll open this ridiculously TINY canopy that looks so weird and funny lmao it's just way too jarring.

I do use the Dab alot and it’s one of my faverites emotes in splatoon 3 but i can see how you don’t like it

eyyy fellow backflip atcha fan, it's my favorite too! i don't have half of the new ones yet but these are my top 5 1. backflip atcha 2. strings attached (this is like the only spooky emote for some reason, i wish there was more) 3. spinnin salute 4. shot caller (i personally love the arm spinning) 5. honestly i love the dualie/splatana version of reppin inkopolis now that they added new ones

My X rank emotes on my opinion Spring loaded Makin' Waves Bursting out Routine Victory Squiddin' Around Bashful Brag Twirl Power Fitting Cute and aggressive looks of my octoling

Outside of me picking the emote that best fits what my Octoling is wearing, I really love those that are dance inspired! Being a dancer myself I could even recognise what genres they're from 😅 Examples include: - double-crossed dab (hip-hop -> one of the genres at the top of my list, and yes the dab is an actual dance move, my group even used it in our performances what you gonna do about it?) - shot caller (locking -> it uses one of the most commonly known locking sequences) - Breakin' + Your move (breakdancing -> self-explanatory, I'm actually training to become a beginner bboy so bonus points.) - Robo Steppin' + Robo-flow (robot -> nice that you know your dance genres, Chase!) - Nowhere Fast (Shuffling -> my favourite genre, it uses the airwalk shuffle which is a move I do all the time when I get bored while standing!) As for "Later, Undulator" it's pretty much just a body wave. A pretty common move used in a lot of genres but I love doing it because it's so satisfying and fun! For me, “Who’s Next” was the best emote for a long time, but once we got “Backflip Atcha”, that was instantly my soul tie emote. The backflip is so sick, and the pose gives off a dope feeling like your character going “you can’t fuck with me” and it’s perfect for my own personality.

my favorites are "landed it", "sarcastic salute", and "MVPleased" in that order

7:48 I would use this emote more often if it wasn’t a low emote. I want to be able to get fist bumps but not many emotes are compatible with low emotes. Otherwise I think my personal favorite emotes would be Ready for Action, Card Sharker, Landed it, and the Dualie and Splatana versions of Reppin Inkopolis

I love victory strut lol, but I use square show off more because sitting on the slosher is funny

Somehow the only opinion I have with emotes is that I get infuriated when I see someone with making waves and I don’t know why

Backflip Atcha and Landed It both remind me of Street Fighter, so they would both go in X Tier for me personally.

Easy Kneesy will always be my favourite emote.

My favorite emotes are Flowing Form, Rootin Tootin, Windmill Whip, and Victory twist. victory twist is a fan fave, but the other 4 are brutally underrated!!

For me I find a lot of the emotes to be okay but I either don't care for part of the animation or the end pose leaving me with few I really like/love. My favorites are Nowhere Fast, Twirl Power, Victory Strut and all 3 sets of weapon themed emotes have at least a few I love.

Personally, the fact that the dab is a very dated reference is what makes it funny to me. It's always really awkward when corporations try to act like they're "hip," and putting something that was a meme a long time ago comes across as self aware of the fact that they never will be "hip." Also, it isn't the first time they've made a dated pop culture reference, so it fits in with Splatoon

Dab is S tier no matter what: either you love it and it's silly and have it equipped and it's S tier. Or you hate it, find it cringe and don't want to associate with it. Then it does a phenomenal job at provoking you, also making it S Tier. My favourite is the sarcastic salute btw

Rootin Tootin is my favorite pick - I just feel like it pisses a lot of people off and I like that. Ready Stance is my second - Its smooth, and easy to farm fist bumps. Sarcastic Salute - Hand on the hip is the COOLEST thing an inkling can do idcidcidc

I agree with a lot of your picks, though spring loaded is the one that disagree with its placement the most. I think it belongs in A tier at least. My favourite emotes from each season: Drizzle 22 - No Chill Chill 22 - All Chill Fresh 23 - mvPleased (twirl power is a close second) Sizzle 23 - Roundhouse ballerina Drizzle 23 - Bashful Brag Chill 23 - XOXO (?) - I honestly don't know Fresh 24 - Routine Victory Sizzle 24 - Spring loaded (Bursting out is a close second followed by Makin waves) Miscellaneous - Bait the Hook and yeah I think the face that the Perfect Pirouette emote makes at the end ruins it for me, its ironically the one imperfection that prevents from being one of my favourite
