    If you really wanna shit your pants, the guitar in standard tuning is tuned in fourths (except for the B and G). But, if you reverse that pitch from highest to lowest, they're tuned to fifths. So, all pairs of strings except for the B and G together make a power chord (albeit an inverted one) when plucked in pairs.

    @@RingsOfSolace That’s pretty cool actually, bc it means anywhere you press 2 strings together on the fretboard (except on the G&B), you have a power chord. And anywhere you press the G&B together, you’ll get thirds. I’ll try to keep my underwear clean while doing it 😉.

    I’m watching Marty’s right strumming hand more often now, and how he cuts into the string on a chord or note. Not sloppy, always precise-never an over-ring or hitting a string that is not meant to be played.

    B and E are a perfect 4th. Not a fifth. Not a power chord.

  • @SD-jf7nb

    @SD-jf7nb

    Жыл бұрын

    A "Five chord" in rock and roll lingo is a 2nd inversion chord omitting the third, making this, colloquially, an "E5." In this case since he's up-picking, he's hitting the I first, then the V, not that that matters necessarily, depending on the riff, but that makes it 5th interval.
