I’m going to have to look more into that T10 V2.1. I love that it maintains the knobs. The buttons are cool, but I don’t want a unit without knobs. I’m so glad that this type of thing is on the market especially for those of us with early 5th gen. We often feel neglected by the aftermarket. Thank you.

That’s the main reason I listen to everyone and have them all for all tastes. Pick and choose. I will never leave the OG’s behind, you guys are our base. When I bought my runner I wanted to get the facelift just because I wanted to leave my truck for a long time. But I really like the OG’s as well. I’m glad I am able to take care of all of you. Great video. I recently bought a 2014 4runner limited back in November and have been eyeing a new headunit for it ever since. My 11 year old son has been obsessed with the different Android units out there especially the T10 v3.1. Since he saw the video of the new T12 recently, he has lost his mind lol. He cant stop talking about it everytime he gets in the 4runner. We are definitely leaning toward picking up the new T12.

Thanks Jase ! Appreciate it! So, for XM, you can have an extra third party integration, easily. But yes, if I tell the factory to include XM, which is a trademark, they will want royalties and that will drive the price 🚀. Because every single one you buy, XM gets a cut, so for that reason, I include only the apps . But in the headunit group, there are multiple solutions to add a third party very cheap. Also, XM plays the same music over and over for a month , just dump them on the headunit and save XM $ bud. But I hear you.

I have been on the fence with this mod to my 4Runner for such a long time. Cannot wait to see the new unit in March. I have heard many good things about the T-series head units and in particular, about the incredible support that you provide. I have a 2019 4Runner and getting CarPlay would be so amazing! Why would it have a big line bud ? Either the LCD has a crack or received a bump or the flex / wire internally got messed up because of XYZ. I cannot trace this way, since most people use different names / usernames on YT and FB, so contact me In the group or on my messenger to dig further into it and see if I can help and understand what the situation is. @@tchiasson10 so all units have 3 outputs for a camera, in the headunit group, a whole back, some admins / mods have texted and installed some extra cameras. So technically you can have a total of 3 cams connected to any of the 3 headunits. Link to join the headunit and 4Runner groups are in the description of every video.

Very educational video (like always)! I came to own my 2021 4Runner after owning a 2012 Ram and the only thing I'm really missing is the head unit. The Ram head unit had the ability to store ALL of my burned CDs on an internal hard drive. After watching your video, it looks like I may end up getting your T10 V2.1 since I'm a button lover. My only questions though are do any of your head units (specifically the T10 V2.1) have a wireless Android Auto option? I only see an option to add a Wired/Wireless CarPlay dongle. Second, what about SiriusXM? With the internal HD, even though I wouldn't use it 100% of the time, I would still like my aftermarket head unit to have a connection for thw SiriusXM antenna so I could have that as a listening option. As always, great video with fantastic presentation and clear message. I'll forever be a loyal subscriber and customer and I'm always looking forward to what comes next! Cheers! Kai

Hey Kai. Thanks for the long detailed comment. I like when people take their time and explain thoroughly, it makes me happy to see my time spent is worth something. So, yes it has built in Android auto, all units have built in Android and CarPlay. No need for the extra accessory , unless you’re sharing your truck with someone for ease of use, or you want to you a SIM card for data with CarPlay same time and the dongle is wired and wireless 🛜, CarPlay and android auto. XM is through the app and app only, unless you add a third party XM module. Which is done multiple times and are posts in the headunit group about it. Thank you for your loyalty and clarify. Greatly appreciated.

I love my T9 and the FB community has been awesome. I look forward to upgrading someday, but honestly even my older unit is great!!! You've won me as a customer, that's for sure. Thanks!

As far as the memory of the headunit, treat is like a phone / PC, more memory aka rams, faster , maybe not noticeable at first but down the road when apps get updated and you will that up … second the memory; the bigger memory it is the more videos , phones , movies etc , it hold. So it’s your choice depending On your use.

Desaita is good. I have it for 2 years never had an issue. Plug and play. Also they support their products I get updates every few months. Its gotten faster and less buggy over time. Also I ordered it directly from the manufacturer got it in about 10 days from China.

Same exact processor and components across the 3 units T10V2.1 - T10V3.1 and the T12. But the only reason the T10V3.1 is my fave , it’s because the T12 is a bit$h to install. But screen is nice . It’s tough to choose a certain model. That’s why I also mentioned in the video, it’s a matter of taste. If I’m bored I’ll swap lol 😝

This is sick. Wish you'd get into the 200 Series Land Cruiser and LX570. Only options we have are Grom (buggy / Poor audio quality), Tesla Headunits (multitude of badness), or Teyes (iffy and lots of installation issues reported). Beat sonic works for 20106+ LX and LC's but that leaves a lot of us out in the cold. 2013 LX570 and still hoping someone comes out with something good.

@@KingSev yup. 2013 LX 570 with the 19 speaker mark levinson. Tesla head units, outside of most of their issues, really struggle with audio quality by CarPlay and this amp.

Hey, so any member who wants to join the group must have an order ID, and if they want to join prior to the purchase, no problem . But down the road , I do filtering and whoever hasn’t sent me the order ID as a DM messenger and I see asking questions about how to or the headunit , then I’ll remove them from the group, as mentioned in the video. They’re welcome to join and provide the order ID and get re approved Into the group. You do now have to own the headunit to start with to be in the group. Every single member who joins , gets a welcome message sent to their messenger on Facebook, that explains this. Cheers

Will this work to upgrade a sound system in a 2023 Trd sport? I installed a sub and amp but I’m still not happy. I plan on upgrading the speakers but the head unit I have won’t allow me to tune it properly. The audio shop said I need to also install a DSP controller or something like that.

Yes sir ! I have a lot of members in the headunit group (link in description) who had amps , speakers and DSP, but I do not think you need a separate DSP, the headunit comes built in with one and an EQ, I suggest upgrading your headunit and if you’re satisfied, then save your money, if not , then you still can upgrade to a DSP as well. But depending on what your aim is, spend the $$$.

Yes sir , Tacotunes is in the 4Runner group you just joined , talk to Daniel. I’ll tag him. But there are other options as well. Like kicker and so on… only by upgrading the tweeters , always you’ll see a significant change in quality, just approved your join in the 4Runner group and sent you a welcome message.

I need some clarification, please. When you said “those are not perfect” it looked like you also pointed to the T10 V2.1. Does it have issues? Why would someone buy the optional wired & wireless CarPlay accessory when CarPlay is built in to the T10 V2.1 already? iPhones are currently up to iOS 17.5.1. The product info said CarPlay on the unit is only compatible with iOS 10.1-12.2. So, it won’t work with current iPhones?

Noting in this world is perfect, especially electronics and or technology. If you watched the full video, the reason I mentioned that is to explain why the groups exists, especially the exclusive group for the headunit . To assist you from A-Z. The dongle is bought for people to share their trucks with others for ease of use and or to use CarPlay or Android auto wirelessly or wired options and or to use sim data with CarPlay same time, that’s the only way you can do that. Apart from that, thousands of units are installed and if you join the group, you see we (I) and thousands others are using latest iPhones with latest iOS. So everything works .

@EricWebSurfer every headunit I make has a built in wireless CarPlay and android auto. People buy the dongle to be able to use wired s d wireless at ease . Although the built wireless CarPlay / android auto works well wirelessly . But the dongle has been proven to be more stable wired and wirelessly … hope this helps. Boy the headunit first . When and if needed, I’ll take care of you if you still want the dongle

Truth? If I was you , with a 2020-2024 runner, I’d keep the oem. Unless you want to unleash the power of having a tablet or laptop in your truck , because once you install any of my units , or the new T12V2 kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWaKzsOKmLG5ks4.htmlsi=BIdwjZfxee0nGmw9 You’d never want to go back, it’s like having your phone in there. You’ll have the ability to do anything you do with your phone , nativity, including having a dedicated sim data . But as I said , if I was you, I’d keep the oem and get an AI box , video coming soon, latest and greatest … to not lose the 360 birds-eye view , panoramic 360 camera. Your oem doesn’t do anything close to what these units do. It’s limited to what CarPlay does or Android auto. Everyone has a need for something and or a taste. I have them all. So saying this, it’s a matter of need or want …

The world of tech never ends. You know how it is… if we keep wanting the latest and greatest . We go bankrupt. T12 is nice . But the T12V2 is 14.9” big a$$ screen; like the new Sequoia. Listen, we need to draw the line somewhere , I rocked the iPhone 13 Pro Max for 2 years, but because I needed a bigger memory, for my KZread and everything else I do; I invested in a 1TB iPhone 15 pro max after 2 years. Will I buy the iPhone 16? No way, these things cost 2500$ , so I hear you. I’m a client esker here and I’m a tech freak, I need to draw the line somewhere !

Can’t fit all these in a short period of time :) this is not meant to be brief …. But thank you for the comment, sometimes I myself realize that videos are a bit long but I need to squeeze in the work of 8 years in a video. How brief you want it to be? I’m not a fan of those fast talkers, edited videos, it gets annoying after couple of minutes. It will be monotone. But I try to always think about the viewer and try to cut unnecessary corners all the time .

Hope I win a headunit for my 5th Gen!

I doubt the T10V3.1 will be EOL for a long time. It’s the best out there. So no EOL. obviously electronics disappear , apps, updates etc play a big role . Like our phones. You cannot find an iPhone 10 anymore . So think of it that way.

But still works . The reason the other V1 and V2 went EOL because they had quality issues . And screen was lifting for some 1-2%

But my videos are to the dot, extremely detailed so you can do it yourself and save $$$ to install. Thousands have done it and succeeded . 14.9” I’m trying not to have to change much , processors in t12 is already very decent , don’t want to drive 🚀 up the price to muck, I also think affordability , it will be a nice one
