Not sure where you are at, but if you have a Microcenter not far from you. I would seriously go looking there. Plenty of combo savings one could have. Usually buying motherboard with CPU will snag you 25 dollar minimum off, sometimes it goes up 50. All depends on combo itself.

Another informative and fun video, Jason! It's that time of year where the deals and sales (Black Friday; Cyber Monday) are coming fast and furious e.g. Prime Day. So, if you're itching to upgrade, or do a full build... Now is the time to do it. I snagged a 6800XT last year for $530 + a MSI 850W Modular PSU for $140. Yes, prices have come down a lot on both of those, but that's my point. At the time, those were very good prices coming off the GPU Apocalypse/Crypto crash, and Cyber Monday, only made it better. Keep up the fantastic work, and give Mr. Bear some scritches for me!

I have a question about the game dev build, as my PC build is primarily for game dev but I'd like to game on it as well. Have you seen any of the Puget Systems benchmarks specifically for Unreal Engine? They found that NVIDIA GPUs perform much better with Unreal Engine than comparable AMD GPUs. Would that information change your opinion on going with the 7900 XTX over maybe a RTX 4080 or 3090? Also, would it be wise to go for 64 GB of RAM for a build that is designed primarily for game dev and Unreal Engine?

I'd say that honestly makes it a worthwhile cheaper choice over the 7800x3d right now. I would've got the nice asrock b650 board thats selling for 125 but it didn't include a combo deal so rip. Prob the best early black friday deal i can find for a ryzen setup. Going to wait till the week of black friday before i buy the rest of my parts.

For the second build, I went for an upgrade on my 5820k. My budget was around 3000 euro. I went for an oc 7900xtx (nitro+) at 1210 euro (more expensive in Romania)) + 7800x3d (430 euro) + asrock x670e steel legionn for 345 euro + 32 kit corsair 6000 cl 30 RGB ram for 155 euro (I am considering to return the kit as the RGB in the software has a bad time syncing with the rest of the build and go for a g.skill of 64gb kit for around 240 euro same 6000 cl30 kit (timings are not as good as the 30cl corsair, but still deciding on that)) and went with the nitro+ 360 water cooler for 110 euro. The 280 could have been a great choice, but I wanted an overkill mb and cooler to upgrade in the future to a more power hungry top of the line 7950x3d or something similar to do editing work. I do gaming now. The rest of the budget went for an Alienware AW3423DMF for 870 euro. I could have got an XTX taichi for 100 euro less and go for a cheaper mb in the 220-230 euro range and maybe get the 7950x3d instead. I tried a cheaper 2k monitor, but having a OLED high refresh 2k ultrawide display was a great buy. I used my old NZXT 450 noctis case (would have loved an RGBB model like the asus) or to upgrade the case to a Fractal - the one with front wood trim - I may do it in the future for better airflow. The PSU is my old trusty RMi1000W Corsair. Not the best, but not the worst PSU. Other than some coil whine from the 7900 XTX Nitro+ and the RGB sync problem (fixed with using signalRGB software which doesn't sync with Razer...), I am pretty pleased with the performance in gaming. When I did the 5820k 980ti build back in the 2016 I optimize the cost as good as I could, but went for a very weird looking setup with multiple colors (blue mb, black/red accent case, white videocard just to get the cheapest build) and I learned for that to try and match the colors a bit more. Also, went for a more expensive mb due to better connectivity (more ssd storage options) and for a better audio with the nihmic realtek 1220 on the asrock. Also, I've been pleased with the Asrock X99 Extreme4.

Heya! Love your videos *and* the cat, they're very informative. I'm going to a college here in the Philippines soon, and am planning to build a decent desktop PC which I hope to even remote access using a cheap laptop. My budget is about 60K Php, which is usually about 1050 USD. I'm hoping to also get two monitors and a quality mechanical keyboard to match up with my current mouse. With plans to be either a game development or computer engineering student I hope to be prepared for whatever I might need to do within the next 4-5 years. I've extracted a number of old parts from my previous HP Envy desktop from 2014. I'd prefer with, but don't mind using a motherboard without WiFi because I have a spare ASUS WiFi card from my old desktop. I even have two extra Foxconn fans, one 80mm and the other 120mm, not to mention a pretty sweet optic drive (probably not needed, but I like being prepared for whatever may happen.) Prices here may be different from prices in the US. I can get a three-pack of those Arctic P12s for only 18 USD from Lazada. On the contrary, the Ryzen 5600 is a little more expensive here, coming at 134.53 USD. Feel free to ignore these differences. I really can't decide between an Arc A750 and the cheaper (and less power-hungry) RX 6600. There's a big chance I'm getting more than I actually need for some parts, and I feel like I didn't make the best choice on others. I still haven't found a good minimalist case that perfectly fits this build. Please help! pcpartpicker.com/user/Invisiso/saved/#view=wdXxf7

Question. I don't have a typical setup. I run triple 32" @ 2K with 144Hz monitors. I mostly play iracing and want to calculate out the best card being I'm limited to 144HZ @ 2K and want to run the game on higher settings. I'm building a new PC choosing the 78003dx and happy with components ,but lost on the video card. I'm not sure a 4080 or the soon to be out 4080 Super will be enough. Anything much over 144Hz will be a waste, but my need the 4090 to accomplish it. How do you calculate what I need? It may be more or less. Any input? So few people run triples that game compared to others using a single lager monitor. Love the channel

The 7900XTX Sapphire Pulse requires three 8-pin PCIe cables, but the Corsair RM1000e fully modular PSU only comes with two 8-pin (6+2 split) PCIe cables, it also comes with two 8-pin (6+2) cables that separate into two other cables. Is the 7900 XTX safe to use with the two 8-pin (6+2 split) cables? Can I mix and match the split and non-plug cables? Do I put the two separated ends into the PSU and the joined end into the GPU? So I haven’t seen any videos out there tbh of builds regardless of price that fill a set requirement, for example a build that (not always on every single game) will give 1080p 60 fps on a majority of games, or a build on 1440p gives consistent 120/144 fps on majority of games. I understand being on a budget is what’s on everyone’s mind but I feel like people don’t pay attention to what resolution and hz they need to fill and end up over spending like 1500$ for a pc build when they have a 1080p 120hz monitor which a 1000$ build can probably suffice, same goes for underspending if they have a 1440p monitor 120hz but then get a pc build that is around 60 fps on most games it feels like you aren’t getting 100% of what you paid for. So it would be nice for a future video if we slightly ignore the current pricings of builds that will work around all monitor limits.((1080p, 60,120,240hz),(1440p,60,120,144/165hz),(2160p,60,120hz)). I know it would be twice as long and even more tedious but having 2 pcs per monitor resolution and hz, 1 for possible upgrade paths and 1 for no upgrades in the future, since most people will just build entirely new pc’s and sell off their old one instead of listing individual parts for sale. It will be a long video for sure 😂, but a very informational video that will save people money, love your videos they always help me with informing my friends on what to get and stuff and keep it up brother! ❤

Hey Jason. I’m anxiously waiting to buy a $1000-1500 budget PC build until Black Friday sales. Will be furiously stalking your channel for some information on the best deals! I hope we can see the ryzen 5 7600 for $199 and maybe the 7900 XT for maybe $699. If not I’ll cop the 7800 XT instead.

ALF is an amazing cooler, but you could just as easily cool that CPU with something like a Thermalright Phantom Spirit and that cost like 35-40 bucks.
