The BEST 1080p webcam EVER? Avermedia PW315

Avermedia has released yet another new webcam, the Live Streamer Cam PW315. While the older Live Streamer Cam PW313 did exist, it wasn't all that well regarded. This is basically the 1080p version of the 4k PW513 which turned out to be probably the best webcam you can buy. However, at $250, the PW513 is a little unreachable. In comes the PW315 offering top notch 1080p 30fps and 60fps, a wide angle 95 degree FOV (field of view), and good adjustability to help fine tune with the best settings for your lighting and environment. At $120, this camera presents an okay value but in my opinion, presents the best 1080p webcam money can buy. Razer is has also released a new webcam, the Kiyo Pro, that offers similar features to this one but at a much higher price tag of $200. The savings you get with the Avermedia vs Razer could go a long way to purchase better lighting equipment that will ultimately result in a better looking webcam feed which further reduces the value of the Razer...but hey watch the video and let me know what YOU think.

What a find.. a 1080p 60fps fixed focus webcam thats compatible with USB 2.0 and Windows 7 in 2022. 😀

Awesome review! I run AVerMedia's socials and am in charge of making documentation for the cam - if you have any questions, LMK! The image going jagged from unrelated adjustments (then being fixed by resetting sharpness) is a known issue, and HQ is already working on fixing it~ Also, the lack of autofocus is intentional, as webcam autofocus can be lacking/have issues (too slow, cause pixelation, change focus when you don't want it to), which is why most of our cams have fixed focus. Anyways, thanks again for the review, and I'll be sharing it on our socials today!

So if I have a USB 3.0 port on my laptop will this still be able to work seeing as its 2.0 ? I’m new to this

USB 3 is backwards compatible, yes.
Greetings can the software included change camera reduce the camera width at all ?

Cannot adjust FOV but the camera software let's you zoom and reframe at will, so if you don't want a wide shot then you can control that there still.
lookin fresh af with the new cut gotta love avermedia gear cam lookin fresh might have to pick one up if and wen the homies ask me to get a cam for rn ill stick to mic only. The 513 requires studio lighting otherwise it's worse than my 10 year old logitech. Is the 315 better for day to day work without a key light?

Hey bro so I just got mine today and I can’t get it to work with the software off the website..it keeps showing it’s not detected but I can see it in OBS...please help lol

Are you sure you are getting the exact version of the camengine software from the product's download page and not somewhere else? Should detect it just fine, might be in a drop down. I would download it again and make sure you're getting it from there to be safe.

Shouldn't make a difference, 3.0 is backwards compatible.

If you are a student, the only thing that matters is sound quality. A $3-4 lavalier mic from China will sound much better that this camera.
