note for next time. if you have a stationary grid in voxels and are merging another grid to it, the stationary grid needs to be larger than the grid being merged. causes some kind of physics glitch and the grid then explodes.

That explains a lot! Thanks for the insight!

Correct. When merging grids, the grid with the lower block count will assume the properties of the larger grid. In this case the larger grid was considered to be a ship by the game and then was merged with a static grid that was in voxel. Another way around this particular situation would be to get grids aligned and turn the mobile grid into a station before merging.

Wind turbines work best if they are set on top of a stack of at least 9 blocks, I usually go to 10 and set 4 blocks on the sides of the 9th, allowing for 5 turbines (4 set horizontally) which will all have optimum clearance.

Just had the algorithm get it right for once and it brought me here! Well technically dropped me on ep6 (which i somehow saw as S6Ep1 and was really confused by). Since I'm new to SE you just gave me a reason to get the dlc's and join you on this journey!

That's awesome! The devs are very active and the game has some big updates coming so it is a great time to play. Hope you enjoy the series and thanks for watching!

I probably would have either ground out lower blocks or added pistons to grid to level it out and built a ship out of it then gone base setup. But hey just me and had a hell of journey with you on this trip. I'm in for the long haul. I like your style keep up the cool work mate.. Subscribed at start of this series just knew it be good....
