Add "Space just got real" for a better night sky & "recolorable thrusters" those add a lot to the game without ruining your current setup.

tried mars survival as brand new player, lost everything to lightning... also you don't need to dismantle completely to rebuild and unlock next tier. just dismantle until it's no longer active then repair it and it works.

are you sure it was lightning? I've had something like that when I started playing again recently, turns out it was uranium in my inventory blowing me up looking like a lightning strike, done some troubleshooting to figure out what's happening and putting uranium in storage solved it, else it would happen no matter what

@@DenethorDurrandir I didn't even make it to space. only had the basic refinery/assembler with the survival kit and h2/o2 built which the lightning strike promptly destroyed, stopping any means to craft anything. I was only starting to set myself up to upgrade to better things

@@xXCursedWorgenXx Mars will hand you your butt really quick if you don't get a lightning rod up. Luckily, they're fairly cheap. Just build a tower of light armor, place a large grid decoy on top, place a single heavy armor block or large tire on top for extra durability, done. It'll protect a 50-meter (20 large block) radius around it. Place a welder hooked up to your storage on the side of it when you get a chance and you'll never have lightning problems again. Granted, larger bases need more of them, but it helps for a while.

A few thoughts. For one this is more my play style and Mars is my favorite for the challenge and its easier to rover around there. Now the Corruption doesnt spawn on planets, but a good replacement that has a wide variety of spawn factions is More Encounters Faction Wars Npc Vs NPC vs player( its my top no.1 npc mod choice). The creatures wont automatically spawn on mars without Lucas's Planet Creature Spawner. Also dont forget that Reavers are attracted to you antenna signals, and if they are really close movement. If you had added industrial overhaul as a mod you would have found it a heck of a lot harder to get started but at least you do not need or should not use progression with that one in place! But it makes building a heck of a lot more complicated.

For Ice, take a look at the ‘Moisture Vaporizor’ mod. It is a block that will take power and produce a small amount of ice while in atmosphere, it’s not fast but constant and has spots that would allow it to use same upgrades as the assemblers and refineries! Also you might want to put any ammo box or hydrogen tanks underground do the explosive change to them!

@@PandemicPlayground yeah but do you in that series, like me have a gigantic GIGANTIC base with 10 PAM script drones mining out the ground for you then delivering it in a lotr type base with scripted solar panels following the sun in a menacing aura. with railgun turrets ofcourse. cuz i do :D no but i love the content so dont stop! or you might need to look behind you :)

don't forget to add Splitsie's Sneaky Sounds to make tool noise more tolerable. the drop pod is your best source for parts as you don't need to fly around. build a cargo rover for local ore searches. the Survival Kit MUST be placed such as to protect it from storms and attacks.

I wish resources on mars were less abundant. Patches of everything are literally everywhere. My starting pod literally landed on a triple patch of iron, cobalt and nickel with an ice boulder nearby.

For me the beginning is the worst part of it. (done that sooo many times) So far I'm liking this. and yo should build that small platform air tight with a few windows to help cut down on accident death.

I am not sure how it works for unknown signals and these other food mods, though with DNSK i do tend to leave it on as you don't really get parts for US, but rather food and planting materials

Well if you spawn near an ice/snlw patch you are pretty much set to survive

Can I give some critique? I liked the episode. You have a calm and you are a good presenter. So the basics are definitely in place for success. But, you need to be less apologetic, as it's not interesting. Also, when explaining stuff, try to be a little less comprehensive, as it gets a little long winded. I write this not to be an ass. Not sure, but isn't the small cargo container on a large grid bigger (more volume) than the medium cargo container on the hinge?

Yes, but if you lack metal grids you can make the small grid cargo container for now, and then upgrade later.

Dude, automatic ore pickup, please, it pains me to see you manually picking up your ores.

Can you sleep in a small grid cryo pod with this mod?

I use connectors as a temporary storage solution because it holds a decent amount and it takes a lot of parts that you can reuse

small tip, that everyone fails to do, don't use steel block's, instead user interior wall block's it's 7 times less iron(i think, it is way less for sure)
