I'm just starting out with this app and find it to be much more reliable than FiLMiC Pro, which, at least on my Google Pixel XL2, behaves very erratically and is frustrating to get consistent results with. Thanks for this video. Very helpful!

Hey Simon! Awesome video as always! Thank you for the in-depth explanation. Can I ask your help about the app? The issue is the constant FPS mode. My video and audio drifts out of sync. Regardless if the setting is off or on. I'm recording videos using a Oneplus 7pro. Any help is much appreciated!

For me, the stand-out feature here is the ability to shoot at a constant frame rate, as opposed to variable. In my experience with my old Pixel 2XL, it has no problem shooting a locked 29.97 fps, making editing much less stressful.

1. no 3rd party apps can access the tele lens. 2. yes 3. 50-3200

This is actually the single only app I've found that allows Huawei users to film at 24fps. I have absolutely no idea how the guy has managed it as camera2.api is restricted to 3rd party developers. Filmic, open camera etc. Either don't have the option or when you select it and film it isn't actually 24 when you check afterwards. If he can manage it, why can't filmic? Odd.

Thank you for the information Alex. I despaired with my P30 before reading your message. Also, with filmic, the aperture setting button does not appear with my smartphone. Which huawei model do you use?

The 10 bit color setting in the app on LG V60 comes out oversaturated no matter what the settings. Any ideas?

It works. Better result for my LG V30. Depend on how you setting the app. It has tons of settings.

A very informative video. I need some help with buying either the filmic pro or the mcpro24fps app. I am aware that the mcpro24fps has more features to offer. However due to my phone's hardware limitations I cannot shoot a video in 24fps on the mcpro24fps. In fact I can shoot at frames lesser than 24fps and there's no option of 10 bit as well. In the filmicpro I found that 24fps is allowed. When I had downloaded the evaluating app it gave me exact details about what features would work. I am a total newbie to the world of cinematography, even though I have a fairly good knowledge of photography and done one or two small jobs as a photographer. So which would be better of the two? My phone is realme 8 pro and it does have camera2API. I purchased both the apps, then refunded both the apps. So now am thinking of which one to buy, but am confused.

Filmic Pro is more suited for your requirements (since 24fps is what you want). That being said, I prefer mcpro24fps.

I know Filmic Pro supports some gimbals. Does this app allow to use gimbal buttons like start / stop recording, mode changes, etc?

Unfortunately, mcpro24fps functionalities does not support to any gimbals, yet. Maybe in the future, they will.... However, you can attach your Android phone to any gimbal and you can only use it for stabilisation.

I might just have to tinker with this one. Does it have options for anamorphic lenses. I figured out how to desqueeze manually using the KineMaster app so if it doesn't support it, it's not a big deal

Do you know how low you can stop the SS down to? And does this app have a time-lapse feature? Filmic only goes down to 1/24s...

There's no time-lapse option. Shutter lowest is 1/15

I'm using the mcprofps24 with my smartphone. I'm running into an issue when it comes to using my Movo VXR10 Shotgun Mic plugged into the phone. Recording stops after about 15 seconds. I get an error message on the screen saying "Buffer is full". Now if I record without the shotgun mic and use just the built in Mic....it records for as long as I want. So, any ideas what is happening here and what I need to do to fix this so that I can use my MOVO moving forward? Thanks.

Some functions of the APP are not necessarily available on every different phone model. That could be the issue.

there's no gimbal integration with the app

I purchased app. I am very curious how did they do that to manage more features like other 3rd party app. On my LG G8S shows me all 5 cameras. 4 of them are usable, work with 10bit colours and 4K. With this app I am able to access more framerate, higher bitrate even more resolution. Record LOG in 4K 60p 10 bit without problem. Filmic do only 1080p I think so. Incredible. I dont know how they "hack" that API. Definitely they have to add other features (gimblal connection, presets for resolutions and framerate, bitrate, atc.) and definitely they HAVE TO MAKE PHOTO APP TOO!!!!

Every lens is chosen for a specific purpose, idea, or point you wish to make. Your question is too broad. Its like asking, what shoes should I wear? Add for exercising, and you narrow the selections. Add running, and you narrow again. Add sprinting, and now you can get a logical answer. See how it works now?

Which device are you using again? I might've not been paying attention...

Yes it does. I think you can also film 24fps using Pro Video mode with Samsung

Ok, so I paid the 17.99 (+tx?) to install it on my Galaxy A32 5G... and... going through all settings it seems 1. Won't switch between the 3 back cameras (only one is listed, and 2 front cameras, how weird...) 2. Couldn't find the 10 bit option... 3. The lut drop down menu is empty 4. The max resolution option is at 2160x1440 5. The maximum frame rate is 30fps 6. 24 and 25 fps are in red (not safe to use according to manufacturer) May be other limitations but all in all it's a very pro app with lots of features... I need help: The recorded video is much different than what mcpro24fps shows on the display while recording. For example, I use custom presets to achieve a cinematic flat image. Well, when I play it back on the player on the same phone, it looks very different (much sharper and brighter, more colored and contrasted). The weird is that the thumbnail of the recorded video is exactly the same as what mcpro24fps displays, but when it's being played, the differences appear. How to fix this? I don't think the player is the problem because the first few days after installing and recording with mcpro24fps, the video player played it back as recorder, i.e. without any image differences.

@@SiHorrocks No, I'm not. My phone is Huawei Y5 2019, it has a simple camera which makes quite mediocre contrasty video. But mcpro24fps transformed it hugely, really. Just can't find out the reason why the playback changes the videos drastically since last few days without any setting changed. Before that, the video player played all the videos (where I experimented with a lot of multiple settings and values) exactly as they were recorded. Don't know if it's a bug itself, but it still appears even after uninstalling and reinstalling mcpro24fps. Any idea?

@@plamypetrov5695 have you tried switching remove metadata on? Other than that the developer is really responsive if you contact him via the official Facebook page or the Telegram group he's set up. Plus you could message him via the McPro24fps KZread

@@SiHorrocks Actually, I use version 033. Many of the settings and modes are missing on my phone in the latest version 034, including the metadata. By the way, I ran the videos on my PC and they are displayed exactly as shown before and during recording. So probably the player changed something itself somehow and it has no any options or settings to adjust. Weird... I wish I could find a way to connect my phone to the PC with mcpro24fps running. The purpose: to use my big PC monitor instead of the phone screen so that I can make the best settings I want. Is there a way to do that?

One little question: where is the Playback button? Maybe i want see what i record, without exit the app... and don't find it :))

try to reduce bitrate and don't use Log or flat profile. Anything which causes extra stress on the processor

I like to have different apps for different uses. I think when I shoot another short film I would probably use Pro24, for things like fixed frame rates. But Filmic allow me to use Filmic remote, which is good for filming myself for YT videos. Plus it has gimbal integration with my OM 4

What does that mean? Your question is too generic. The bottom right of the interface there is a file icon if that's what you mean.

When I import my videos from mcpro24fps to Filmora9 they look 'choppy' and the same applies when I export them to my desktop. The frame rate is the same. I don't encounter this problem with the open camera app or manual camera app. Any suggestions or ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks.

do they look choppy on your phone? It might be if you are pushing the bitrate or other features which use too much processor power and the phone can't handle it
